Not big on leaving reviews, but wanted to leave one here to give some people a more recent review. This place has been here forever, but only tried them for the first time this past holiday to cater my family gathering of 30 people. Food was prepped and ready at the time requested, and was still warm and ready to eat. Packaged well and nothing missing. Usually I get Korean catering from k-town, but it was too inconvenient this time around. I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was, and I was not disappointed by anything. The galbi was a bit pricey, but galbi costs now are ridiculous so not shocking. It was tender and the marinade was solid. The chicken wings though...wow. They really stood out and were some of the best Korean chicken wings I've had. Banchan all solid and good to go. If you need kfood catering, give them a try! read more

Before finding this on Yelp I never knew this place exists so I definitely need to take time to write this review. I found this place because I wanted to find a good place that catered Korean food. I'm not Korean but sometimes wish I was since the food is so good. First things first, if you're reading this and do not know Korean, know that the owner knows limited English. If you go see her, ask for her son, Jason, and she'll give you his phone number to coordinate. Jason was a lifesaver and helped me order everything. He was easy to work with, patient and understanding. I had no issues coordinating with him. Then when it came to the food, I got bulgogi, marinated chicken, kimchi fried rice and kimbap to serve about 35 people for a total of $650 so it came out to just shy of $20/person . As you can see prices are pretty high but its Korean food and the meat is grade A quality, tender and the fat has been trimmed so its somewhat expected. Also even feeding that many people we had quite a bit of left overs. I've eaten it the last two dinners and still enjoy it as much as the first day! Ordered several large trays of food for a birthday party (+30 people). Kimbap, japchae, korean pancakes, spicy squid, and marinated chicken just to name a few. Food was prepared on time as promised and was incredibly delicious! Lots of friends and family asked where we ordered the food from. The food had a home cooked meal taste to it and was incredible. Great place to get korean food! They have side dishes and soups available to purchase. The food choices are the same, but I really like it. I really enjoy the spicy beef soup (yuk gae jang) with the fried chicken and some of the korean "pancakes" in the heater section. The fried chicken is unfortunately not there everyday, but whenever I see it, I always have to grab a pack! Everything is pretty cheap but if you get a lot of stuff, it does add up quickly. We ordered the catering for my brother's church last Friday for Sunday event. They were very accommodating to take our phone order although they don't open on Sundays. The best part was the quality of the food. We ordered about 7 items (including white rice) for 15 people. It came out to be $200. It is not definitely one of the cheapest catering, but the quality of food speaks. Very tasty and yummy! We ordered -gimbob -bulgogi -jap chae - three kinds of jun (pancakes) -chicken -kimchi -white rice Kimchi was soooo delicious!My parents and my brother's church members LOVED the catering, and my parents were very thankful to this catering place. You need to tell them what kind of food you want, and they will give you the estimate. I asked them I want $200 for 15 people, and they told me that each tray has different price, so we have to choose the menu. NO MSG. HOMEMADE KOREAN FOOD. BEST TASTY. WHO Cares about paying little more than other catering place when it provides the BEST CATERING FOOD :) Ps. My parents came this place to pick up our catering, and my mom saw traditional korean banchans! She wanted to buy some banchans and the total came out to be about $36, and she only had $24 extra dollars. They told my mom to just go ahead and take it and pay it later when she comes by. Tasty and plentiful! Reasonable negotiating. The fact that folks of varying ethnicities asked where I got the food says that they loved it! Favorites: Jalepeno jun (not on menu), fish jun, sesame leaf jun (yum!!) gimbap, bulgogi, shrimp tempura, jahp-che So-so: cucumber moochim, potato salad And definitely offer cash payment. I stop by here to pick up side dishes because cooking with a toddler at home is near impossible. The gentleman that works here in the evenings is great. He always helps me load the stuff to the car since I almost always have my son with me. I've tried the almost everything here and I like everything. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars was I bought the large container of kimchi and it was just not good. I feel bad throwing it away but I think that's what I'm going to have to do. This is my favorite place to get Korean catering and occasionally side dishes(Ban chan). Most of caterings I ordered before from other places seemed to contain too much MSG and salt/sugar, however, the owner/chef of Torrance Catering is capable of replicating home made food without artificial additives. My family and guests always enjoy them as they feel right at home! read more

ok...I like kimchi ...my wife likes kimchi ....but when I found Torrance Catering ....wow oh my God ..... it is the best kimchi outside of japan....we bought the big jar and it was gone in a week ...hahahahah it was spicy and fresh and we ate it in almost every meal....i got to the point i was just eating rice and kimchi....we were hooked ...! the other day I went back for more and they had some gyoza cooking I had to try it ...damn it was amazing ...now I'm hooked on that ... I stop by this little shop every once in a while to pick up snacks or side dishes for meals. They open pretty early so I can come pick up food for my day. They sell kim bap and other sides in small quantities so it's perfect for my lunches. The prices are slightly higher than going to the regular Korean market and picking up sides but I like the quality here better. For a small tray of kim bap it's about $5. read more

Absolute worst service ever! We went to get food catered for my grandpa's birthday and the 20 something sitting behind the counter assaulted my dad after refusing to take credit card payment when on the door, was clearly a visa and master card logo. After seeing everything unfold, the lady, assuming it was the child's mother, sat there dumbfounded without a single apology. I suggest anyone looking to get food catered from here to look elsewhere.
