The place is not clean. The dogs are not watched at all times. The security cameras don't work which is a huge safety issue for the dogs.

Our cat left here with an abrasion on her neck that led to a full-on ringworm infection. She gets groomed a lot and is very docile, so I don't know why so much force had to be used to end up leaving an open wound on her neck, I'm assuming from a collar. The week after grooming, her beautiful fur started coming out in patches, dulling, and her skin started scaling. This whole thing led to a MASSIVE amount of trouble. Multiple vet appointments, baths, nightly anti fungal foam application and cone wearing and 2x/daily anti fungal pills for a couple weeks. This ordeal happened back in January and I'm just now getting around to leaving a review. Was not a clean place, other loose cats all over the place, and incredibly cluttered, but I was desperate as we just moved to the area and hadn't found a groomer yet. Major regret. read more

So my wife and I recently took in a cat that we discovered is FIV+. He's a one year-old, long-haired male cat and after a year of living outside, his fur was all kinds of matted. We sought out grooming so that he could be more comfortable and we were really impressed that she was able to get him (and our other long-haired cat) in on the same day. Once we got there, we shared some information and it came out that he is FIV+. Upon learning this information, Lori proceeded to provide misinformation, conflating FIV and FeLV, (for more accurate information, please see: https://furiends.com.sg/index.php/2019/04/28/fiv-felv/ and consult your veterinarian), as well as provided unsolicited veterinary advice, including having our rescued cat put down. Due to this experience, we chose to leave immediately and will be seeking out another groomer, so I cannot speak to her actually grooming service. I am choosing to share this review due to the concern that others will also be negatively impacted by receiving such misinformation, particularly when she also shared that she was previously a vet tech. read more

We LOVE Lori. My pup Motley absolutely hates the groomers/clipping his nails and Lori is very knowledgeable with her line of work and even with all types of dogs as well. I am so incredibly heartbroken and frustrated with what happened to my dog. I brought him here because his usual groomer was booked out and my dog was matted. I knew he was going to be completely shaved down but I did not expect the amount of cuts he had on his body. I dropped him off at 7:00am and I called around 11:30 since I thought that was more than enough time for him to be done. She replied in a very rude manner that he was sitting in the tub but she was working on a different dog first and then proceeded to tell me he wasn't behaving the best and that he was friendly but needed a lot of training. This made me mad as I think any dog would be anxious and not in a good mood after being at the groomers for 4 hours and just being left in the tub by himself. She then told me I needed to figure out some solution for him to not shake his head as it can cause cauliflower ear and that she recommend a pantyhose over his head or even super gluing his ears to his skin. I told her I'd figure out what to do when he got home. I never agreed to her doing any of these things. I even looked it up on google and saw nothing of that sort. I've had all sorts of poodles all my life and not one single groomer mentioned that to me. She called me to say he was ready at 1:30! That's 6 HOURS. I could not believe it. My dog has not been the same since, he is extremely anxious and traumatized from that experience. He doesn't want to walk he's so uncomfortable in his own skin. AND she ended up SUPERGLUING HIS EARS TO HIS SKIN. He eventually was able to scratch at them and his skin is now sooo irritated. I am beyond frustrated and angry at this. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This place is a mess starting with the owner Lori herself. Her brash and opinionated demeanor is very unprofessional right off the back. The grooming room is a complete disaster just looking at the clutter and uncleanliness. This place has an odor that's a cross between cat urine and dog crap. Lori is very opinionated and agrees with herself. The cut on my dog was just ok with a few missed spots here and there. In giving suggestions she's fast to talk down and degrade the customer . With the amount of work and the work being subpar , rather expected according to her self proclaimed accolades of knowing everything. I will not be taking my dog to her again as her demeaning comments are unwelcome and unprofessional. I was very disappointed with the service I received from Lori's Grooming on 7/2/20. I did not get what I asked for and paid for. I will never go back to her again and would not recommend her to anyone. I called her a week prior to my appointment and she was booked out for a week which was fine. I let her know I would like to get the Lion Cut for my cat and she said she would be able to do it. She also advised that she only takes cash. When I dropped off my cat, I paid Lori in advance (the price wasn't bad -$60.00). I also tipped her in advance, due to I had to work that day and my son would be picking up my cat....the cut was not even close to a Lion Cut (see pic below). I got the Lion Cut for my cat once before from Puff & Fluff Grooming located on Bethany Home in Phoenix. They did an Amazing job (was perfect). I tried getting my cat in there before calling Lori and they no longer have a cat groomer at that location, however they did at their other location in Phoenix and they were booked up for a while. So that is when I found Lori's Grooming...never again!!! read more

I hate saying negative things about people or businesses because you never know what's going on in their life to cause them to be rude to you, however Lori's Grooming has permanently scarred my dog. I used to bring my cocker spaniel here frequently it was close to my house and she would always get her in last minute. My dog was 5 when I started taking her to Lori so she had been to the groomer hundreds of times and never had an issue. After about the 6th or 7th time at Loris she would start to shake uncontrollably when we would even get close to the front door. Sometimes she would even poop and pee herself obviously completely terrified. This reaction was new she had never acted like this with any groomers and still, tho not as bad, has this reaction when we go to the groomers. I feel Lori had either been extremely aggressive to my dog or just treated her terribly, bad enough to cause her to react this way. Tho Lori was never a very pleasant woman I would have never expected her to harm my dog. Be weary of this groomer. Unfortunately there is no way to prove she did anything to my dog, if there were I would have her in jail, but you know your animal and she obviously was terrified of Lori. If you pet is like your child please watch that she is not being harmed. I give one star because she would always get her in last minute. read more

Lori is very good at what she does and has an understanding of animals that comes from years of experience. The nature of her own animals lets you know that she would not mistreat a customer's pet. The skill set involved to trim my dogs nails is necessary however Lori handles her with care every time. I go to Lori between washes to cut down on cost but my dog loves it as much as when I bath her. Lori is completely knowledgable and if you spend 5minutes talking to her about her credentials you'll realize her understanding for animals and her business. read more

I highly recommend Lori's Pet Grooming. I took my big very fuzzy kitty, Gizmo, to Lori for a lion cut since the previous place I used was out of business. Lori got me in within a day of my calling. Gizmo was ready to pick up in just a few hours and his lion cut was perfect. Gizmo is rather shy and did not even seem fazed by the experience. He looks great! He has had two other lion cuts and this one was the best. He was very clean as well. Don't let Lori's initial response to your phone call throw you. She is very busy and may come across a little harried. Once I got Gizmo to her shop I could see why she was so busy. Lori loves cats and is active in the rescue community. She had a few rescues and a few fosters there in her shop. Despite all the cats and the activity she still gets the job done in a timely and professional manner. The price for Gizmo's bath and lion cut was only $60 which is very reasonable. I will definitely use Lori for cat grooming again. read more

I give this place 3 stars, I usually take Wrigley to get groomed at PetSmart but they have such limited hours for the cat groomers I had to take her elsewhere so I yelped and found this place close by. I love that Lori opens at 6a I dropped Wrigley off at 7:30 before work and picked her up after lunch. For $50 Wrigley got shaved and fully groomed. My 2 complaints- Wrigley looks clean but doesn't smell clean there's typically some sort of pet wash that is used on her at PetSmart and she just smelled like the shop. Which brings me to my next complaint, the odor in that shop is overwhelming. Obviously I didn't expect it to smell like bath and body works however, It's so cluttered in there, there's cages everywhere and minimal ventilation the smell was nauseating. The shop doesn't look like it's been cleaned in years. Due to that fact I was nervous to leave my Wrigley in such a place, but she survived. Unsure if I'd use again, maybe if we're in a bind. read more

I have been bringing my dogs to Lori since 2009 and she does a phenomenal job. Even after I moved to Laveen I still make the trip to have her groom my dogs. I have a Lhasa Apso who has behavioral issues and know one would groom her with out her being completely put down and Lori was able to get the job done. I have heard stories about how other groomers have injured animals while they groom them I have never had any issues. She is very experienced and does a great job on cutting my dog's hair. Now I had a very bad experience with this groomer. Now the shop owner was sweet at first but in my opinion must have become jaded over her long standing years as pet groomer because when I heard my dog cry out from the back room and asked if it was her lori's answer was "that falls under the category of oh well that's to bad it has to be done" I couldn't believe she said that to me but I kept silent I just knew my dog wasn't one to cry like that anyhow I'm going to make a very long story short and let y'all know that the result of that was my poor baby nails being clipped on one paw way to short so short that they were bleeding however I didn't know until I got home and rinsed her off to make sure she was hair free and the powder she had stopped the bleeding with came off. I'd wondered why my pup was acting so odd and scared. I called Lori and she admitted to the accidentally cutting her nails to short and I'm not one to be an ass but why wouldn't she tell me before I took my dog home where I have a very well taken care of white antique couch? Her unprofessional attitude and smart remarks not to mention very dirty waiting area taught me not to be so quick to trust just anyone with my pooch. The least she could have done was tell me what happened before going home or was it perhaps it was the $12 tip she was afraid id take back well I'll never know because I'll never return to have my dog done there again and I say you don't either. My husband and I have been going to Lori's for 14 years. She does an excellent job shaving our cats. Probably most people think their cats just get shaved and their claws clipped. The first thing she does is clip their claws. As Lori says, she does that first so she doesn't get killed! She then shaves the cat while it's still dry. Then she bathes the cat. After the cat dries, Lori shaves the cat one more time. I did not know the cat was bathed then reshaved. Lori also cleans the cat's anus. Our cats always come back closely shaved. Lori has always been super dependable as well as being Phoenix's best pet groomer. Lori is the best and we would not ever go anywhere else. Her prices are also very reasonable. read more

That very weekend, I was able to get my baby Ste'V into Lori's and what an experience! Ste'V is eight years old, and has been groomed on a regular basis by different groomers. Out of all the groomers' I have ever taken him to, Lori's is the best! After they finished with Ste'V, within the time they told me, Ste'V looked absolutely gorgeous! The haircut was on point! Read previous reviews and was quite nervous especially after I saw the dog with the bloody paws (sheesh). But I went out on a limb and booked an appointment for my pooch since those reviews were from a year ago. My RJ seemed to have a stress-free time there. He had a basic grooming and looked like a happy stud. I will add that if you are extremely sensitive to cats or cat fur, this might not be your fave place because there were a handful of cats around. I am slightly allergic to cats (but I love cats and do have a cat myself) so, I managed. I think its nice to have a place that grooms and takes care of kitties. read more

Paid her $20,00 for her time.was careless and made the nails bleed.The place looked dirty with cats all over the counter. Without doubt the best and most caring groomer I have ever used. I travel between Nevada, California and Arizona and have used multiple groomers. Lori and her team, (Kat and everyone else) are extremely kind and do a great job.
