I am now a member of the board, have adopted 2 dogs through them, raise money for them, and will do anything for this rescue. It's crazy to me that some people would give a 1 star review because their application got denied! We receive tons of applications and sometimes you just aren't the right fit. It happened to me and i didn't cry about it and try to ruin the reputation of the rescue. Shelly has done more for the breed that anyone else in the state of Arizona and maybe even in the entire United States. She has devoted her life to helping these dogs and you attack her and the rescue because you got denied. I have been going to our weekly pack walks for the past 5 years and have never seen any of the people who leave bad reviews show up once. You should be ashamed of yourself for giving these bad reviews. Grow up. This is an amazing rescue built on the backs of volunteers and amazing people like Shelly and her husband Dustin. I will live and die by this rescue and challenge anyone who has anything negative to say. Either show up or shut up. ROTTEN ROTTIE RESCUE FOR LIFE

It's been a month since our…read more4-year-old rescue, Angus, completed his 3-week board and train--and we can confidently say we have a completely transformed dog. When we adopted Angus, an American Bulldog, he was extremely reactive, had zero impulse control, and was tough to manage. Walks were stressful--he would bark, lunge, and completely lose it around other dogs. Recall was non-existent, and previous trainers had little success with him. After his time at CharlieBar, everything changed. Angus now walks calmly on a leash, his reactivity has decreased by at least 90%, and he thrives during his daily training sessions at home. The most remarkable part of Ricardo's approach is that it goes beyond basic commands--he teaches dogs how to think, make decisions, and self-correct. It's not just about punishment or praise; it's about helping dogs understand their choices. With a simple "uh uh," Angus now stops, thinks, and chooses better behavior--without fear or confusion. We're beyond grateful for the results and highly recommend CharlieBar to anyone looking to make a lasting difference in their dog's behavior.

I was worried for a moment, leaving my dogs with someone new and especially finding someone to train them. Ricardo and everyone really put my mind at ease while I was in another state and getting those daily updates and seeing how much they've grown. They will definitely be back in the summer for more training as I feel like I have found someone that I can trust with my dogs. I know my dogs are very stubborn and scared of new people but they were very patient with them and really earn their trust. Thank you again guys again and will definitely see us again soon. Our sweetest 13 year old mix, Nemmie, took a sharp turn for the worse after a brief battle with splenic cancer. I reached out to AARP on a Friday in hopes of scheduling them over the weekend. I was able to schedule online, and Shelley reached out the following morning to confirm the appointment and provide resources and instructions. Unfortunately, Nemmie's condition rapidly declined and it was clear that she would not make it to the original appointment. I reached out the Shelley, who was able to reschedule our appointment to that same day to make sure our sweet girl could be put to rest with dignity and little to no suffering. Dr. Falcone was the vet assigned to us. She called me roughly 30 minutes prior to the appointment time, letting me know that she was in the area and could arrive before the 12pm appointment. However, she also let us know that it was completely okay if we wanted her to wait until the original appointment time so we could spend an extra few minutes with our girl. She arrived promptly at the appointment time, and was nothing short of an angel for our girl (and for us) throughout the entire experience. I can imagine that having her job would not be an easy one. However, she handled our situation with such grace, empathy, and kindness. Before the procedure started, she took the time to walk us through each step of the process. She also made sure to be as gentle as possible, while getting Nemmie as comfortable as possible before everything started. We also have another dog in the house, who was very curious about what was going on. Dr. Falcone was so sweet to him as well, and let him sniff her, give licks, and be all up in her business prior to the procedure starting. She also did not rush us at any point in the slightest, and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our sweet girl. Once the procedure had finished and Nemmie was no longer with us, again, Dr. Falcone let us have as much time as wanted to say our final goodbyes. She also allowed me the privilege of lifting my girl onto the stretcher, covering her with a blanket, and helping carry her out of our house and to Dr. Falcone's car for transportation to the crematorium. One small little touch that I'll forever remember. She was also very clear that there are two options for having your dog's ashes returned to you: either having them shipped to the vet, or shipped directly to your home. AARP's services, quality of care, and empathy for their clients & their pets are truly second to none. The opportunity to have been able to put our girl to rest in the comfort of her lifelong home while surrounded by love and comfort, is truly something that you can't put a price on. When your inevitable duty as a pet parent to see your pet off to the Rainbow Bridge comes, I can't recommend using All About Restful Pets enough. They truly are the best at what they do, and make the worst day of your life just a little bit better.

We've been working with Troy for almost a year now and our home is finally peaceful. We don't fear for our dogs' safety anymore and our entire pack is the calmest and happiest that they've been in the 8 years we've had them. We have used this past year to put all of the practices and techniques Troy has taught us into use. We also regularly attend his Next Level group classes and Socialization classes with our dogs. We have seen some amazing transformations. That's not to say we haven't occasionally taken a step or two backwards at times but when that does happen, Troy is there to help. He has been available for email advice for certain issues and he has also done a home visit to help with the fighting issues we had in the beginning. Without Troy, I'm afraid we would have had to re-home or put down one of our beloved dogs. Lastly, Troy also boards our dogs for us when we travel. Not only is this great peace of mind - to know our dogs are well-cared for, but we also know that our dogs will be adhering to the same rules, boundaries, and limitations as if we were home with them. No more coming home from vacation and finding that we have to retrain them all over again! We whole-heartedly recommend Troy, especially if your dog has moderate to serious behavioral issues.
