Given that I had it delivered and the delivery guy didn't tell me he left it on my door. The food was still really good.

Awesome burger. Great atmosphere. Owner is very friendly. The burger patties are handmade. Apparently, he has the ground beef done by a local butcher that is a special blend for him. Fantastic. No salt or sodium. The french fries are fantastic. Highly recommend it. Great atmosphere. Christian music playing on the sound system. read more

Lord's Kitchen - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

I understand history in this restaurant has been and Eastside staple for 20 years and I do believe in paying for good food but $16.70 for a burger and fries and a can Big Red it's really unacceptable that's like ordering a burger from room service at the Hyatt regency. I'm not complaining about the burger which was good and the fries were too but that's kind of a steep price for ground beef in a bun in a 37-cent potato at cost read more

Sorry to say it has changed. The burger buns dry. Only bottom bun was greasy from meat. Been here before and were not charged for refills on soda. I paid $1 more for a soda on lunch special. See pics, not anywhere on menu does it state that there's a charge on refill. Will not be visiting again. Hmm, wonder why it's called Lord's Kitchen ? read more

I had been dying to try this place out. I had attempted to eat there once during a lunch break from school. Bad choice. There was a line out the door. This was a good sign. I vowed to come back. Fast forward 2 years. I had a craving for a good cheeseburger and remembered this place. I was excited. Now be warned, this place is in an odd location. (Under the n.new braunfels bridge) And their dinning area is really small. Maybe 12 tables? The decor is really random. It sort of looks like you are in flea market stand. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The people there were really friendly and helpful. My boyfriend talked me out of the 2 pounder. I settled for the 1/2 lb cheeseburger with fries. Oh man. So disappointed! The meat lacked any real seasoning. And it was dry. Overcooked beef makes me so sad. Maybe they had an off day. I am willing to go back and give them a second chance. Doesn't the lord give US second chances?? Amen. read more

Go early if you can during lunch time, the line gets long quick. I got the 1/4 lb burger lunch special and added cheese and bacon. The special comes with fries and choice of tea or lemonade. Coke (soda) is extra. Stick with fries those are fresh cut fries and very good. My co worker had the onion rings, which looked like they might have been frozen from a bag. He said they were ok and wished he just stuck with the fries. I'm wanting to go back and try some of their specialty burgers. The specialty burgers range on prices and fries and drinks are separate so it can add up quickly. I paid $9.70 for my meal (lunch special) which is reasonable and that included the add ons for the bacon and cheese. I did see a sign that said $.75 for refills, I don't know if they still enforce that because I didn't get a refill so I didn't find out if they do or not. Overall, it's another great "hole in the wall" type place to add to my places to go to and take out of town guests. read more

Lord's Kitchen - Very good burger and no frozen fries here either - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

So good and bad... Food was delicious but the price was steep. After paying $11.50 for a lunch combo they tried to charge me 75 cents for a refill. The food was very good and I'd definitely come back for the food if I didn't feel like I was being nickle and dimed. The wait was long but reasonable for the volume. Recommend the egg on the burgers. Was cooked perfectly! Nice work guys on the skills... But the cost of a refill is measured in single cents... Word have been 4 stars if you didn't charge for refills. read more

Lord's Kitchen - Long line at counter to order. - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

I went here on voting day. Yep, this is how behind I am.. But I have to tell you. I got there at 2:30ish, and they don't close until 3, so I was surprised to see that all the chairs were up on the tables and they were starting to shut down for the day. I almost did not place an order. I did order a burger and fries though. The cook ( I am so sorry I don't remember his name), did an amazing job with it. There was just the right amount of crisp on the crust of the burger, amazing juicy, fresh lettuce. Wonderful taste. I did take it out side to eat since the crazy older lady was in there determined to have no one mess up the floor. ( I don't know why she started cleaning that early..)It does not enourage people to come in relax, and enjoy their meal. She needs to stand down.. But the patio was wonderful. I had it all to my self. Some of the paintings on the wall were great. I don't know if they are going for a 50's car show vibe or what, but I will defineately be going back for more. I also wanted to let you all know, that if you do go and sit on the patio, be sure to visit a restroom before going. The only ones I saw were out in the patio area, but they were under lock and key. And god forbid you ask crazy cleaning lady for that key. I was afraid she was going to bite my head off. The guy that was doing the cooking also brought my burger out to me. He was so sweet, kind, and very welcoming. I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can go back. I wonder if they welcome dogs? I think my dogs would enjoy the walk over there. I will have to find out and get back to you all on that... read more

Lord's Kitchen - My beautiful tasty cheddar burger made by Chuck. - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

When I opened the heavy laden door, I was immediately thrown back about 1000 years, my friend and I somehow gained huge beards in the process. We looked at each other with a sense of Northernly respect, and flapped our fur cloaks and scrapped our boots against the large mat, then made our way to a table. We ordered the pound and a half of beef between two slices of bread, the grumpy man took in our order with a stiff nod and serves us flagons of ale. We downed them easily and slammed our empty mugs on the table. Then came the beast. The burger itself looked like a feral animal had been recently slain, for the blood was fresh. I tore into these burgers and found the burger most satisfying. Being a Lord isn't easy, but being treated like one is a whole different thing altogether. Solid choice for hungry vikings. Pro tip: This place is a pokemon arena. Just try and take down my vaporeon you fools. read more

Lord's Kitchen - This meaty burger. Mmm hmm bro. - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Someone at work told me this place was good. Checking it out on Yelp I figured it was worth a try. It is in a dilapidated part of town and there is no parking lot. But you can park all up and down the street with no problem! They charge for refills. 75 cents for a 20oz and $1.00 for 32oz so be aware if you drink alot of beverage. Burger and fries were good! Definitely will come back. read more

I came in this establishment ready to support them and I was met with unprofessional attitude, after selecting the $17 combo I proceeded to ask him what did it come with on the burger? he then Tells me this burger comes with whatever I want, then begins to name each and every condiment then proceeds to select the menu in front of me and states that each condiment he saying that came with this combo has a price which was fine but did not want to spend $30 on a burger, I tried to compromise and said I would like the smaller burger, the junior, to be specific which he said they no longer offer what is the next offer he proceeds to tell me it is the quarter of a pound burger I said that is everything I had already selected on there but avocado he said OK then told me he would ring me up. I said that is fine. I'm gonna go use the restroom from the restroom. He says that he did not ring me up. He did his own personal calculations on a Calculator as he gives me the price, $27 I answer a text message that I am responding to. He proceeds to tell me verbatim. Oh honey, this is not fast food. This is quality. I asked him what made him think that I did not think it was quality and I proceeded to ask him what was his impression I even went as far as apologizing, maybe he misread my interaction, but then he began to become verbally disrespectful as if he was the customer and I was not obligated to having my own opinion about customer service I tried to defuse the situation once again stating I did not come here with intent to argue with him or make him feel uncomfortable but simply to just get something to eat. Im disrespected once more and I told him I was not gonna get the burger and he told me to never come back. Accountability is what we are missing here I never came in this establishment yelling. I never disrespected this man. I'm just a customer and I was not treated as such. if you are anywhere on the east side please do not eat here. Go to Mark's outing way better prices way better customer service. read more

Love to discover hidden gems in small restaurants. This was a letdown I can tell a lot when ordering the basics. Hamburgers were made just to satisfy the order. No different than most other small hamburger places. The place was clean with the oder we got a small dose of the owners political preference not appreciated. read more

This place is hard to find if you don't know about it, so I suggest you bust out the GPS or go old school and print straight from MapQuest like I did- even people who know about it are not too great at giving directions to this place, but in their defense, it's kind of in in an awkward residential area just off of the highway so you don't really think it's going to be there. But once you've got directions, go. I've only been for lunch, but it was enough to fully convert me- service was quick and polite, and the food was rave-worthy. Got a generic-sounding burger with fries and a drink, fairly basic, no? And yet. It was juicy without being overly greasy, cheesy without taking away from the beefy, meaty goodness, and just down home delicious . read more

Is it just The Lord's Kitchen, or does He flip the burgers, too? Thankfully, the religion stops at the title, though if there was ever a job for the Flying Spaghetti Monster, it would be working the kitchen. Whoever's back there, they're a San Antonio institution serving up some big greasy burgers the way God intended. Others have commented on the long wait for the burger, and it occurred to me as I waited. There were only 2.5 diners waiting for their burgers ahead of me, and the wait was upwards of 30 minutes. I'm aware that fresh cooking takes time, but even in this case it took an extraordinarily long time. It was worth the wait. The Picante burger, a 1/2 lb burger topped with cheese, salsa, and jalapenos, was on order for the afternoon. The patty was a solid medium-well with a nice crust and moderate seasoning. The bun was wonderfully soft, toasty, and just a little greasy from spending some quality time on the griddle. While I like the idea of a spicy burger, the salsa was unimpressive, reminding me of Pace Picante - not cool in a town that has dozens of Texas-made jarred salsas. The cheese was a shredded cheddar and Monterey mixture, which was enjoyable. The fries were freshly-made, which automatically get points for the effort. The resulting product was fairly limp and greasy, though, so more consideration to frying technique is necessary. Lord's Kitchen has been around for a long time, and the burger landscape has evolved to the gourmet super-burgers of the likes of Bigz and Gourmet Burger Grill. There's still room for the old fashioned burgers, though, especially when prepared like in The Lord's Kitchen. read more

I have not been here since the pandemic, and wanted to see if they were still open and yes they are! And the burgers are as good as I remember. One of the best burgers if not the best in San Antonio. It was my first time there and the Man behind the counter was very frustrated and extremely rude with me. He complained about being short staffed and in the food industry for 20 plus years! He was raising his voice when I was trying to place my order asking me how I want my burger and yelling at me explaining that if he doesn't get it right the customer's start complaining and so forth. I ended up with a plain and dry burger which I did not want! I WILL NEVER RETURN!!! SUCKED! read more

This is my go-to burger joint when I'm on this side of town. I always bring people here and no one has been disappointed. Stopped in for lunch today and got the Santa Fe burger (grilled onions, barbecue sauce, cheese) with onion rings and it was amazing!!! My usual is the ghetto burger(chili and cheese) but I thought I'd mix it up. Definitely a place to challenge your chops with burgers up to 3lbs. This place has gone down. Went there during lunch. The owner must be a "Jack of all trades" since he was the only one there. He took orders, served, cooked. He doesn't even politely excuse himself when he goes to the back. He took the order of the people in front of us, along with giving them his political views & then disappeared for 10 minutes. No "I'll be right back" nothing. We stood there wondering where he went. He returns, takes another order to a group waiting then comes to counter, no apologies for waiting, no "I apologize for the long wait". just states "you can't bring in your water" I explained to him I prefer water and he said "then you need to drink it outside. I applied for a liquor license and that's the law" after stating that I said "never mind, I don't want anything" he said "you still need to wait outside" mind you, it was 100+ degrees outside (I went by a couple of weeks ago) & I was planning on taking my water to my car. Nothing kind ever came out of his month. We then decided to leave and as we were exiting he sarcastically said "God bless you". Typical fake Christian. The sign on the door states "short staffed" well that day he had no staff. I understand things like this happen but I was told by many that for the most part he always has a nasty persona. His lack of apologizing or explaining his lack of quality service is what got me. Felt as if he thinks we should be honored to be there for his burgers and that his burgers speak for themselves and no need for apologies for crappy service. read more

One of my favorite burger joints in the world. The menu is big enough to appeal to almost everyone's appetites without being overwhelming. The service is always friendly and the place is clean. They have great lunch specials and even extra specials for active duty military. The only down sides are that it's small so on a busy day you should get here before or after 1200-1300 and it's located in an out of the way neighborhood so if using a GPS to get here drive slowly and safely so you don't miss a turn. read more

The owner had a bad attitude with all the customers including myself. I came to try a new burger place but was definitely disappointed. The food was overpriced I ordered a lunch special a 1/2 lb burger with fries and a drink came out to 18.70. I could tell the burger was definitely not a 1/2 lb burger and less than a handful of fries. I did not feel like arguing and let it be but definitely not returning. read more

I Remember coming here with my mom and friend many years ago, I kept thinking of a different name and only remembered it being under a bridge! Finally Found It!!! I tried the MaMa Bell Burger and it was, Hands Down Greatness in My Mouth!!! Your Tastebuds won't be disappointed at all!!! From the first hot, off the grill, flavor-filled, crispy Bun Bite, Down to the last, still hot pattie with the same rockin' flavor that you just can't let go to waste, even when you're full! The onion rings and Fries were Great as Well, but that Burger... Mmm Mmm Mmm!!! Amazing Service from the cashier/ waitress and the cook himself! Great Job to both! Great Burgers! The staff was very friendly. You may be a little discouraged by the outter appearances, but trust me when i say you don't want to miss out. After coming back here to give this place another try, I once again was left more disappointed than the first time. My burger was yet again flavorless and now a soggy mess after adding the avocado. The avocado lacked any flavor and needed salt desperately. It was also black on some parts if my burger, which makes me wonder how long they had it sitting out already. The fries were insanely greasy. Then to add icing to the cake, the ketchup on our table was covered with ants that were crawling from the wall. I left there with a stomach ache. It's still overpriced for a small tasteless burger. I won't be returning anytime soon. :( read more

Interesting location, delicious fries, decent burgers. We liked it enough to go back, but the location is also awkward with street side parking and the seating is really limited. I think service counts on the taste of the burgers and the word of mouth popularity this place has gained, so it's not exactly friendly enough to gain repeat customers. I'll be back only if someone I'm with wants to go, or if we're playing inner city tourist again. My Yelp rating system: 5 stars= Driving across town just for this! 4 stars= I would recommend visiting. 3 stars= Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars= You might be able to drag me in. 1 star= I will definitely not be returning. read more

I had heard about this place for a while before I tried it and, while not "legendary", it didn't disappoint, either. The burgers here are big and messy. The burgers are tasty but not amazing - my burger was maybe just a little bit bland. I liked the fries quite a bit - definitely house made. I'm more of a Mexican food guy than a burger guy but I've slowly been trying different burger places around town. I'd rank The Lord's Kitchen pretty high - not high enough to drive across town for but worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

I came here with my parents and fell in love with the cheeseburger I ate. This is a little place on the east side with minimal parking and an outdoor patio area. There aren't many tables so I imagine it gets very crowded during busy times. The decor was random but I didn't mind that. The focus is on the burger when you come here. The burger was big and juicy. It had the perfect amount of cheese and a lovely toasted bun. I didn't have any fries but I don't think I needed any. I'm not a french fry person and wanted to just sit and savor my burger. Come when its not super busy and you'll be very satisfied with the big chunk of meat, cheese and bread. read more

Lord's Kitchen - 1/4 lb cheeseburger w/fries - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Cool place, if a little kitschy. The place is very homey, and very clean. The people are nice. The burgers are slightly above average, but pretty plain for the most part. A nice place to visit if all you're looking for is a simple burger in a simple burger joint. The options are pretty much limited to cheese, chili, and BBQ sauce, and variations in between. The main specialty was their offering of burgers anywhere from a quarter-pound to the 3-pound burger. We ordered and split the 1.5 burger to see how exactly they pulled off so much meat. The bun held its own. It was your average, nicely toasted bun, but despite hunkering down 3 whole beef patties and a slawish mix of veggies on top, there was never any worry about the bun falling apart. The toppings were a basic assortment of somewhat fresh lettuce, onion and tomatoes, but the main flavoring that came through was ultimately just mayonnaise. The patties were nice and fatty, but not greasy, basically tastes like salisbury steak when there's 3 of them stacked together with nothing in between. I guess my beef with the beef is that it would have been nice when you order a triple-sized burger to get triple-sized toppings or at least triple cheese, but as is, the meat was decent, but pretty bland. The burgers are OK, but if you're really craving something nearby, I would recommend Fatty's or Tycoon Flats before this place. But it's a perfectly fine option if you're around the neighborhood for lunch. read more
