Someone at work told me this place was good. Checking it out on Yelp I figured it was worth a try. It is in a dilapidated part of town and there is no parking lot. But you can park all up and down the street with no problem! They charge for refills. 75 cents for a 20oz and $1.00 for 32oz so be aware if you drink alot of beverage. Burger and fries were good! We downed them easily and slammed our empty mugs on the table. Then came the beast. The burger itself looked like a feral animal had been recently slain, for the blood was fresh. Go early if you can during lunch time, the line gets long quick. I got the 1/4 lb burger lunch special and added cheese and bacon. The special comes with fries and choice of tea or lemonade. Coke (soda) is extra. Stick with fries those are fresh cut fries and very good. My co worker had the onion rings, which looked like they might have been frozen from a bag. He said they were ok and wished he just stuck with the fries. I'm wanting to go back and try some of their specialty burgers. The specialty burgers range on prices and fries and drinks are separate so it can add up quickly. I paid $9.70 for my meal (lunch special) which is reasonable and that included the add ons for the bacon and cheese. I did see a sign that said $.75 for refills, I don't know if they still enforce that because I didn't get a refill so I didn't find out if they do or not. I went here on voting day. Yep, this is how behind I am.. But I have to tell you. I got there at 2:30ish, and they don't close until 3, so I was surprised to see that all the chairs were up on the tables and they were starting to shut down for the day. I almost did not place an order. I did order a burger and fries though. The cook ( I am so sorry I don't remember his name), did an amazing job with it. There was just the right amount of crisp on the crust of the burger, amazing juicy, fresh lettuce. Wonderful taste. I did take it out side to eat since the crazy older lady was in there determined to have no one mess up the floor. ( I don't know why she started cleaning that early..)It does not enourage people to come in relax, and enjoy their meal. She needs to stand down.. But the patio was wonderful. I had it all to my self. Some of the paintings on the wall were great. I don't know if they are going for a 50's car show vibe or what, but I will defineately be going back for more. I also wanted to let you all know, that if you do go and sit on the patio, be sure to visit a restroom before going. The only ones I saw were out in the patio area, but they were under lock and key. This place has gone down. Went there during lunch. The owner must be a "Jack of all trades" since he was the only one there. He took orders, served, cooked. Nothing kind ever came out of his month. We then decided to leave and as we were exiting he sarcastically said "God bless you". Typical fake Christian. The sign on the door states "short staffed" well that day he had no staff. I understand things like this happen but I was told by many that for the most part he always has a nasty persona. His lack of apologizing or explaining his lack of quality service is what got me. I'm aware that fresh cooking takes time, but even in this case it took an extraordinarily long time. It was worth the wait. The Picante burger, a 1/2 lb burger topped with cheese, salsa, and jalapenos, was on order for the afternoon. The patty was a solid medium-well with a nice crust and moderate seasoning. The bun was wonderfully soft, toasty, and just a little greasy from spending some quality time on the griddle. While I like the idea of a spicy burger, the salsa was unimpressive, reminding me of Pace Picante - not cool in a town that has dozens of Texas-made jarred salsas. The cheese was a shredded cheddar and Monterey mixture, which was enjoyable. The fries were freshly-made, which automatically get points for the effort. The resulting product was fairly limp and greasy, though, so more consideration to frying technique is necessary. Lord's Kitchen has been around for a long time, and the burger landscape has evolved to the gourmet super-burgers of the likes of Bigz and Gourmet Burger Grill. They have great lunch specials and even extra specials for active duty military. The only down sides are that it's small so on a busy day you should get here before or after 1200-1300 and it's located in an out of the way neighborhood so if using a GPS to get here drive slowly and safely so you don't miss a turn. read more

After coming back here to give this place another try, I once again was left more disappointed than the first time. My burger was yet again flavorless and now a soggy mess after adding the avocado. The avocado lacked any flavor and needed salt desperately. It was also black on some parts if my burger, which makes me wonder how long they had it sitting out already. Interesting location, delicious fries, decent burgers. We liked it enough to go back, but the location is also awkward with street side parking and the seating is really limited. I think service counts on the taste of the burgers and the word of mouth popularity this place has gained, so it's not exactly friendly enough to gain repeat customers. I came here with my parents and fell in love with the cheeseburger I ate. This is a little place on the east side with minimal parking and an outdoor patio area. There aren't many tables so I imagine it gets very crowded during busy times. The decor was random but I didn't mind that. The focus is on the burger when you come here. The burger was big and juicy. It had the perfect amount of cheese and a lovely toasted bun. I didn't have any fries but I don't think I needed any. I'm not a french fry person and wanted to just sit and savor my burger. Cool place, if a little kitschy. The place is very homey, and very clean. The people are nice. The burgers are slightly above average, but pretty plain for the most part. A nice place to visit if all you're looking for is a simple burger in a simple burger joint. The options are pretty much limited to cheese, chili, and BBQ sauce, and variations in between. The main specialty was their offering of burgers anywhere from a quarter-pound to the 3-pound burger. We ordered and split the 1.5 burger to see how exactly they pulled off so much meat. The bun held its own. It was your average, nicely toasted bun, but despite hunkering down 3 whole beef patties and a slawish mix of veggies on top, there was never any worry about the bun falling apart. The toppings were a basic assortment of somewhat fresh lettuce, onion and tomatoes, but the main flavoring that came through was ultimately just mayonnaise. The patties were nice and fatty, but not greasy, basically tastes like salisbury steak when there's 3 of them stacked together with nothing in between. I guess my beef with the beef is that it would have been nice when you order a triple-sized burger to get triple-sized toppings or at least triple cheese, but as is, the meat was decent, but pretty bland. The burgers are OK, but if you're really craving something nearby, I would recommend Fatty's or Tycoon Flats before this place. But it's a perfectly fine option if you're around the neighborhood for lunch. read more
