Our first experience a few months ago involved receiving specific payment figures over the phone from a manager, along with an invitation to come to the dealership to finalize the transaction. After making the trip and spending time at the dealership, we were informed that there had been a "mistake" regarding our trade-in appraisal. As a result, the payment presented to us was higher than the figure we had been quoted over the phone. We chose to consider this an isolated oversight and proceeded with the purchase. However, a few months later, we contacted the dealership again to discuss upgrading our vehicle. Given our previous experience, we were particularly careful to confirm the details in advance. We discussed the vehicle, the trade-in, and the payment with the same manager over the phone. We were provided with a specific payment amount and were assured that the numbers represented an excellent deal. After spending almost an hour at the dealership, we were informed that there had been a "mistake". This time involving the buyout on our trade. The corrected figures resulted in (just like our prior experience) a significantly higher payment than what had been discussed. We cannot speak to the reasons for the discrepancies. We recognize that genuine errors can occur but we find it particularly disappointing and concerning that we experienced two very similar issues. Having two separate purchasing experiences where the payment discussed and confirmed before our arrival changed substantially leaves us with substantial concerns. Therefore, we would not recommend them to our professional or personal network, or to others considering purchasing a Hyundai.
