His coordination of permits, sheet metal contractors, waste disposal etc was seamless and exemplary. His team turned up on exactly the day agreed and the work was done in almost exactly the time frame predicted. His guys were fastidious in cleaning up each night and the final result looks excellent. Above all James is so friendly and gave us a daily rundown on the progress and activity. When we ran into a technical challenge with some of the metal work he promptly made us aware of it and discussed different means to remediate the problem (none of which could have been predicted in advance). I am feeling so blessed today, because I had the good fortune to meet Mr. James Lord. He was on a work site and was very polite to greet and meet me, when I dropped by. A special Thank You to James Lord of Lord Roofing who promptly returned my call to inspect a roof leak after unprecedented high winds and rain in Rio Del Mar. He inspected the roof and determined that the roof was in good condition and the leak had been caused from unusual high winds lifing the edge of the shingles. He recommended a solution to make sure the edges that may have been lifted in high winds are secured and will not lift again if the high winds return. Couple months ago my parents noticed that they were having water leak problem, so they had several roofing companies come by to inspect the issue and give a quote for the roof repair. Of the 3 roofing companies that inspected my parents roof, James at Lord Roofing was very thorough in his roof inspection as well as detailed with the scope of work. He found several other issues with the roof as well as found where the leak issue and what was causing it: Wood/termite rot in various areas of the roof, a section of roof tiles that were improperly placed/misaligned and the poorly designed chimney flashing which caused the water leak issue. Basically the roof was quickly/poorly built when my parents house was built over 25yrs ago. My parents decided to go with Lord Roofing because James was very professional, detailed/thorough with the scope of work, and his 20yr experience made my parents comfortable with the job that needed to be done. Once Lord Roofing got started, they found other areas of wood rot that wasn't part of the job. However, James was very kind enough to repair without charging since his crew had extra materials for this roof repair. Many others would have ignored the issue due to the fact that this was not "part of the job." On top of that, James was dealing with my father who can be obnoxiously detailed and picky lol. After completion of the job, my father pointed out few areas where he found some concerns. James and his crew were able to complete the roofing work as well as the concerns my father pointed out within a week. James Lord of Lord Roofing went above and beyond my expectations. The crew was incredibly skilled, and they installed a beautiful and functional new roof. But it wasn't just about the quality of work. They kept me informed, explaining what they were doing and how long things would take. I had expected that there would be plywood sheeting under the old roof, but that turned out to be incorrect. When the old roof came off most of it needed additional plywood, there was also dry rot in places that needed some carpentry work James took care of fixing them for me without any hassle. They cleaned up the job site meticulously every day, there were a lot of nails and debris from the old roof that they picked up, leaving my property spotless. Overall, Lord Roofing provided a truly exceptional experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and professional roofing company. One note that I feel is important: Skilled workers are hard to find and probably harder to keep. I received the quote in August, and James estimated the start date to be a few months later, around October. However, they did not start until November. My roof took longer to complete than was expected due to having to sheet the entire house with plywood and of course in November the weather was a bit of a problem. This meant that anyone scheduled after me would be delayed by a few weeks. James could have rushed the crew and potentially compromised on quality to get done sooner but he didn't. Be patient. These guys work tremendously hard, and they don't cut corners. It's impossible for them to know exactly how long the ten jobs ahead of you will take, but waiting is worth it to get a quality roof that you expect to last 30 or 40 years. read more

One offered to sell me a spanking new silicone roof for many thousands of dollars and opined that my existing roof had seen its last days. While inspecting the attic, James discovered some fairly significant damage to the roof structure, and scheduled a carpenter to take care of it while he and his crew replaced the shingles, underlayment, and through roof vents and flashing. We called Lord roofing about installing a new roof a few months ago. James came out and looked at the house and took measurements, then in a week sent us a quote. Some time went by and we thought we'd have to wait until Oct to get the roof done, but we called to make the appt and they had a cancelation and were able to get us in the next week.
