Lorca is a great little coffee shop. The espresso and milk drinks are always good. I've had a couple very good espresso there. The churro's are delicious. The chocolate dipping sauce is a really nice bitter-sweet. I've also had an alfajore that was very good. I love the space. It's small with a modern but vibrant aesthetic. The seating is limited and anything but plush. I think that fact adds to the appeal, but some folks may be turned off that it isn't really the place to settle in for hours doing work. The staff has always been very pleasant. The clientele tends to be diverse in all regards. Socially and culturally it's a very nice atmosphere. The only notable issue is the location. It is easy enough to get to, but that main strip in downtown Stamford can be a pain to drive around in, especially if parking is scarce. Once you do park, you have to pay meter parking. Lorca itself can be easy to miss, which can be problematic on your first visit. I think they'd do well by some eye level signage out front. It's a great coffee spot. I always stop by when i have errands in Stamford. read more

Lovely spot! We make a point of stopping here on our trips from New York to Massachusetts, and it's always a treat. We've sampled various breakfast menu items and some of the sweets, and they have all been great. Good coffee and tea. Nice, relaxed atmosphere, and a cozy ambience. Perhaps a little too cozy/cramped at busy times of day or on weekend mornings. A good time to stop in is between breakfast and lunch -- much quieter then. Friendly regular staff. The kitchen serves up delicious eats, prepared with care, using good ingredients. Would love to see a Lorca outpost in Westchester. read more

Lorca Stamford and Cos Cob are so wonderful. We buy our beans there and they always have a good selection for the discerning buyer. They're very straightforward with their opinions of the roasts so you can tell the staff is trained with care and treated well. The chocolate chip cookies are a must, absolute heaven. Came in for a quick visit today as I had never noticed this coffee shop before. Really love the simple and modern decor. Beats out Starbucks. Bought an iced coffee which was fragrant and light. I'll need to come back to try the churros. Definitely my new hotspot for a cup of joe. The best coffee in Stamford, hands down. Their lattes (hot and iced) are delicious. Don't bother with Starbucks at the library when you can go here. It's not cheap - $4 or so for a latte, $0.50 for flavor. Cheapest you can get somewhere else would be only $1 less, and this is worth the difference. Décor is white with light wood and is cozy. They have a bit of seating so you should be able to find a place to read, work, or chat. Half Full has used their coffee in their porters and other beers and they taste delicious as well. read more

Hands down the best coffee spot in Stamford (based on my diligent, and somewhat obsessive search for "delicious" coffee). I live in SF and come to Stamford for business several times throughout the year. Living in such a "foodie" city, I've become downright spoiled with it comes to good food and drink - and over the past few years, coffee has become one of the areas of my self-proclaimed "snobbery." Usually when I travel, I set my expectations low for coffee - it seems rare that I stumble upon a cup of joe that meets my expectations outside of bigger cities, such as NYC, Chicago, etc. But alas - I found a heavenly spot in Stamford that understands the love for good coffee, and how to make a cup of joe worthy to quench that caffeine craving! I stopped in twice - once for a shot of espresso and a drip coffee, the next for 2 Americanos (one for "now", one for "later" ;)). The drip coffee was pretty good - no where near as good as I've had; but mainly because I like my coffee strong, and it lacked a bit of flavor/punch. But this style of coffee is hard to perfect, so understandable that it wasn't "wow." The espresso is - wow, creamy delicious. SO amazing. So fresh. My absolute favorite thing I tried was that shot of espresso. The second time around I had Americano(s) - but I was almost punching myself for going that route, as it just waters down the yummy espresso! I will definitely be back each time I'm in Stamford. I've learned my lesson though - to stick to the espresso shots every single time - my personal favorite (and possibly also a drip coffee or a "short" Americano to go)! read more

It's the most local feel, Coffee shop! If you're a local or just visiting, this is a cute place to stop for a bit. I've been coming here for almost 4 years. The staff is always cordial and try to remember regulars. I've had their pastries and breakfast sandwiches and both are really good! They also do the point system adding up to discounts. In the summer they have few small tables outside and open up the wall of windows, making the place feel larger and airy. read more

Lorca is a totally adorable coffee shop with delicious drinks (my iced oat milk chai was perfect). My only criticisms are that the space is really tight so because of people using tables to work on their computers we were lucky to find a seat at the bigger communal table on a Tuesday at 3pm. While Lorca does have several vegan friendly milks for your drinks (almond, oat, rice) they don't really have much in the way of vegan baked goods that I could see, just one energy bite, which wasn't really enticing me. Lorca.. strange name what does it mean?? I will tell you, it is defined as churros and the coffee! I have been waiting for the opening of this new place and it is a little hard to find, but look for the bright yellow signage on the strip mall. The owner did say she will get a signage board to make it easier for passerby. The only issue is parking. If you are planning to run in and pick up an order, you need to feed a parking meter or park in the back and hope that in 10 minutes that you don't get a ticket. But, once you get these past these two items.... ....and finally step into the shop you will be greeted with the aroma of coffee. The churros are made to order and not the "stick churros "that you might be used to getting elsewhere. Each churro is like a snowflake, different shapes. which makes it fun to dip into Lorca's different dipping sauces ( chocolate, hazelnut and dulce deleche).. ...but taste is consistently delicious. Hand selected coffees and coffee based drinks (along with a decent variety of teas) are featured daily to go along with your churro and dipping sauce selection. Various dipping sauces are picked and prepared each day for our tasting pleasure. Trying out the featured sauces each day poses an exciting prospect, don't you think? The churros at Lorca are perfect. They are the authentic Spanish "Porra" style. The word "delicate" came to my mind as I bit into them. Thin and long, perfectly crunchy on the outside. Not too oily and not too sweet (goodbye guilt!). It is coated with just the right amount of cinnamon sugar to create a delicate sugary coating - without overpowering the flavor of the dough or the sauce it is yet to be dipped into. Even the dipping sauces were mildly flavored to create perfect harmony with the churro rather than raging a battle of flavors against it. Nicely done! read more

After my second visit to Lorca my opinion is that they run an efficient and clean establishment the food and coffee is always good on the downside would be the rather I prices for the moderate small servings. This of course is nothing out of the ordinary for Stamford. Nonetheless this place deserves the four stars and A visit from you if you're passing by. read more

Great little coffee shop! The people really love coffee and it shows. The pour over coffee was much better than the shops in DC, so I'm sad to go home. The baked goods themselves are worth a trip even if you're not a coffee drinker. Banana bread is -really- good, doesn't taste like dust the way so much banana bread does. The cinnamon rolls are great, not dry and not drowned in frosting. 4 stars only because it's not particularly comfortable inside. A little bit of atmosphere and it is perfect. read more

Lorca is definitely one of the best coffee shops in Fairfield County, and one I invariably visit when I am in Stamford. Apart from a regular espresso drinks, they usually carry a broad pour over selection of four to five coffees at all times. Now, that is more than most coffee shops in NYC. They carry beans from a variety of coffee roasters with Counter Culture consistently represented. Of late they've also been carrying Onyx Coffee Labs who are also excellent. Lorca js also the only coffee shop I am aware of in Fairfield County that makes their coffee using Kalita Waves, if that's your thing. Definitely recommended. read more
