Last month, I had them back out to remove a large pine tree next to my garage and prune the dead stuff off several other trees. County Tree Service is a family owned and operated business. Joe and, his life-long friend (they've been friends longer than I've been alive), Chucky, along w/Joe's son, Bobby, are friendly, professional, hardworking guys. I actually enjoyed hanging around while they worked, and they didn't seem to mind either. All of their vehicles and equipment are clean & well maintained. Speaking of clean, they do a great job cleaning up the yard when they're done. Some of the other services I got quotes from last year stated that they would not remove excess stump grindings, which is a hassle if you don't have a place to dump them on your property. To top it all off, Joe's pricing is very competitive and he stands by his estimates... the price he quotes is what you pay.

The tree was quickly removed but it was a 3 star maybe 3.5 star experience because of the additional work needed to coordinate everything. The good: - competitive quote and they were able to come by quickly to assess the work - flexible in bringing equipment that worked with tight openings - main tree removal was done in 5 hours - removed paver stones so they wouldn't be damaged by machinery - friendly and professional. They accommodated a special request to cut a section for a table The bad: - rescheduling was a huge pain. We had to go back and forth for 3 weeks and I had to proactively follow up to confirm if they were coming - unable to grind the stump as part of the initial quote so had to pay another $400 for them to come back with a different machine - never got an invoice despite asking for one multiple times To summarize, this seems to be a nice family business that has experience removing trees quickly. However, it doesn't appear there is a back office that keeps everything organized so you're going to have to do a lot of work to stay on top of things.

I have left several messages on the phone and through email almost daily for 3.5 weeks and have gotten no response or resolution. We came with our cloth masks on given the Coronavirus pandemic, as I wanted to be respectful since we were walking onto his property. He didn't have any of the pieces of wood laid out for us to see. They were either stacked in a tent or under a tarp. He showed us a few photos from his laptop. My brother asked a few questions, and then asked if he would lift a corner of the tarp up to see the wood. He became irate, and abruptly said "I don't have all day. We're done here. Get off my property." No warning. We had been speaking for all of 5 minutes. The hardest part about this experience is that I don't understand what we did or said to upset him. He kicked us off his property after we had driven 30 minutes to get to North Reading. I've never been treated this way in my life. I want to make sure those who do business with him know what he is capable of.

He had the tree trimmed and out of my yard in what seemed like an instant. I meant to post this review at the time, but I was reminded recently because we also bought a half cord of firewood from him. It is the best seasoned wood we have ever bought and we've bought a lot over the years. During this exceptionally snowy winter, we are constantly reminded of, and warmed by, Matt's excellent service and products.

He was a nice man!…read more However, after many follow up calls to the owner due to an incomplete job, I was told by his assistant that he was "too busy" to call me back. Ultimately, the job we agreed to with contract was not done to completion, in spite of the assistant's insistence that it was. The owner was not on the job EITHER day and this is important. While the crew came back to attempt to complete the original job ( we appreciated that!), the owner was not there. The result was that the job is currently STILL not what we agreed upon. The owner is not willing to return to finish it. Caveat emptor...just know that if the job is not done according to agreement, you will have trouble reaching the owner and it will not be made right. We really wanted to have a great experience!
