Have had them do large jobs and smaller jobs over the past few years. They are very professional. They work quickly and clean up everything afterward. Their prices are always very reasonable. I have seen the aftermath of debris from cheap tree services, and I would choose Ferris to do a great job every time in the future. read more

Super easy, fast efficient from start to finish. Very reasonable quote, responsive, efficient, thorough and easy to work with. Would use again in a heartbeat! Thanks Dan and team! read more

Ferris has done three big tree jobs for us and one emergency call. They are EXCELLENT. They know what they are doing and it really shows. They know exactly how to bring trees down efficiently and with no damage. They are easily able to spot where trees should be trimmed / taken down and give you a thorough explanation. No upsell here-- Dan will tell you like it is and will tell you straight out if something needs to be done, if it can wait, or if you don't need to do it. They are super responsive and have a big specialized crew. Their clean up is incredible-- no branches, no twigs, no wood chips are left -- they rake and use the blowers and pick every little thing up. I don't know how you can take 3 huge trees down and leave no mess at all but they do. Finally, the thing that won me over initially was when they responded to us after heavy storms hit the town. Ferris Tree could have been doubling prices-- and MANY companies were--- but Ferris didn't and doesn't. Never thought I'd have a go-to tree guy, but I do. You can too. Highly recommend. read more

Extremely happy with Ferris Tree Service! Dan is extremely responsive and always quick to provide estimates. The guys are all respectful, friendly and professional! We have used them for several years now, and we are always amazed by how they protect our grass and leave our property exactly as they find it! I would recommend using Ferris to anyone looking for great pricing and quality work! read more

Ferris tree took down a few trees on my property. Gave me a quote and we agreed they would come the following week. Took care of digsafe and eversource so they would label where the utility lines were. Came out early in the morning on the day they said they would be there and finished in a few hours. I will have them back when I need them again. Thanks. read more

Dan and his crew recently completed tree trimming work on my property. They did a phenomenal job, and cleaned up perfectly!!! They were extremely professional, courteous, extra considerate of adjacent neighbors' property, and took the time to identify and explain important details regarding a problem tree. I would not hesitate to recommend them for any tree work, and I plan to have them return asap for additional tree removal and stump grinding. Family owned, highly reputable, honest, reasonable rates, and I was very happy that I chose them for the job. They're the Best!!! read more

Just needed seasoned wood but quick, professional and cost effective. Dad does the wood and son does the trees.

You can keep reading these reviews. However, you would be best advised to simply call Dan Ferris and schedule your tree event. They are that ridiculously good. I have recommended them to three friends who experienced similar results. After having the work quoted by four other tree removal companies, I chose Ferris. They were neither the lowest nor highest bidder. However, they were the most complete overall. Dan Ferris came across as professional, courteous and the most thorough of the bidder group. He left nothing unexplained or unlisted in the written quotation. My experience: removal of 41 trees, majority full-sized 60-90 foot hardwood specimens. All of these trees were capable of striking my house if they fell during ice/snow/wind storms. The operation took two full days; everything was completely removed from site; stump grinding detritus taken away; property left spotless. As others have noted, the Ferris professional operation is an orchestrated sight to behold. At the prodding of my wife, I stayed home for the 2nd day of work; was pleased that I did. The crew comprised 8-10 workers fully protected in safety gear; senior Ferris on a huge crane, several bucket trucks, numerous log and wood chip hauling vehicles. Every piece of equipment was high end and well maintained. All that was missing was some background music playing as this was a fully coordinated labor performance. OK. Enough. Make the call. On top of what all these reviews have said, Ferris offers winter work at off-season pricing. read more

Ferris Tree Service is by far the worst tree contractor I've ever come across in my life. The owner is very confrontational and no way near professional in his attitude or way he does his work! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY read more

Hired Ferris Tree on the recommendation from a relative. Had three dead / dying trees removed from my back yard (which is down a hill and difficult to get at). Between the trees and my driveway were three lilac bushes, a new patio, and a recently seeded yard. The crew at Ferris used a bucket truck and cabling to remove the trees piece by piece and stump them once removed. The lilacs, new patio, and recently seeded yard were all in excellent shape once the job was done. Ferris did such a good job cleaning up, it was hard to tell they had even been there. Lastly, the price with stumping beat another quote we got that didn't even include the stumping. read more

I was prepared to write up a detailed account of all the work Ferris Tree Service crew did on my property, and the story of how I met with and got quotes from four of five tree services before giving the job to Dan Ferris, then I read all the reviews. My experience was similar to all the positive reviews and the only negative review sounds like a different company given how satisfied my wife and I are with everything Dan and his crew did for us. Bottom line? I suspect you want to know my expectations for a contractor and did Ferris Tree Service meet those expectations? The answer? I set out to find someone who is prompt and cordial, seems knowledgeable, has extensive experience and the necessary tools, offers a fair price, schedules the work within a reasonable time frame, arrives on time, finishes the job discussed in a timely manner, cleans up, leaving the job site as found. My wife and I were home when the work was done. We talked with Dan and the crew throughout the day. They arrived at 7:30 A.M. and left at 2:00 P.M. They were not the least expensive, but they came in with the second best price, and Ferris Tree Service delivered beyond expectations. We are very pleased with our decision to hire them. Obviously every job is unique and there is no guarantee that a contractor who met our expectations will meet yours, but we do highly recommend you give Dan and Ferris Tree Service serious consideration for any tree work you need done. read more

I had a significant tree limb fall from a Maple tree in my front yard. With two kids, I wanted to trim the entire tree and ensure it was safe. Ferris completed the job within 24 hrs of leaving a voice mail for a price that was less than other companies quoted. When I got home that afternoon, there was zero evidence on the ground that any tree work was done. I couldn't be happier with the work they did. read more

I received estimates from 4 companies to remove 8 large trees and then read the Yelp reviews. The other companies were at least $1000 less, but I have had bad experiences using companies having bad reviews in the past and did not want that headache. I went with Dan Ferris. He and his crew were competent, applied all safety procedures, and did the work in 5 hours. It was amazing to watch. They left my yard in better condition than when they started. Worth the extra money. read more

Uncommunicative. I'm trying to give them business and they won't even call back. I can't imagine what it would be like if I actually contracted them and something went wrong. Forget them and move onto the next listing. read more

Everything about Ferris Tree is TOP NOTCH!!! We had many trees pruned and others cut down to make more sunlight for the lawn. We had stumps ground and even limbs hanging over our neighbor's sports court done with no problem. Their clean-up is meticulous! All the crew were great. I would definitely recommend Ferris Tree Service and will be having them back to do more work! GREAT JOB! read more

Should be called Ferris Bueller's tree service. Yeah, they did the work I needed them to do but they left my property in a shambles. Damaged my driveway, tore up my yard and left lots of large branches all over my property. I sent the owner a letter with the problems they left behind . I never got an apology or any kind of reply back. I guess they're only in business to make money and not to keep customers. read more

These guys know what they're doing and are very professional! I highly recommend them for any tree work. They have the equipment and manpower to get any job done the right way. Very impressive and great to work with! read more

We have a large wooded lot in Andover. We had a number of trees that fell during the snow storms in March. We had branches and tree limbs down all over our yard. We had limbs hanging down into our driveway. We called Ferris Tree Service. They promptly sent an estimator out to look at the job. He carefully walked the yard with us. He made notes of all the work that had to be done. The next day we had a detailed quote in our email. Two days later they came and did the job. They had all the needed equipment and plenty of men. The job got done on time and on budget. They left they yard spotless, picking up all the wooden debris. We were very pleased and would highly recommend them. read more

We had Ferris Tree come to remove a huge tree on the property line between our home and our neighbor's and they did an amazing job. The tree was located in a tricky position with electrical wires nearby as well as being close to both our home and the neighbor's garage. They came at exactly the time they said they would with all the necessary personnel and equipment. The gave a 3 hour estimate for removal but were finished in just about 2 hours. They were exceptionally efficient and it was a wonder to watch them cut, lift, and process the immense tree. They cleaned up after themselves and there was barely a sign that they had just taken down a tree; there were very few wood chips or leaves, and I was very impressed in how they left the properties tidy after such a huge job. The cost for the removal was very reasonable compared to what other services were asking. I had an arborist look at the tree prior to taking it down; he spoke very highly of Ferris and was amazed at the price that they gave us. I would recommend Ferris to anyone and if we are ever in need of such services again Ferris will the the people we call. read more

I live in Andover, MA. There was a very large old tree on the corner of my property near a road that is traveled by walkers regularly. The tree was dying, losing branches, and overall a liability that had to be taken down. When a large branch finally fell on my car, I called around for estimates for the tree's removal. I was told by others in my neighborhood that Ferris was 'very very good', but also very expensive. It has been my experience that contractors from Andover tend to be more expensive than those from surrounding towns. I called six tree service companies, including Ferris. Two did not even return my call. Four did, and Ferris was out to give me an estimate the next day. The estimate was actually the best I had received out of a total of four (three were out of town contractors). In a couple of days, Ferris was at my house precisely at the time arranged, and work was miraculously completed in two hours. I mirror what has been written on this YELP page by others, with regards to the amazing professionalism, extensive equipment, and expertise of this company. Thrilled with this experience. Highly recommend this company! read more

ferris tree came out to give a estimate to a huge tree that had come down during the last storm (catorigized as a tornado) that came through methuen. it is in a very difficult spot and my husband and i knew it would be a dangerous/huge job. in my experience with dealing with contractors they are trying to get the job from us...not push us away. . my husband and i were spoken to in a very condensing way and were being told we were irresponsible homeowners for not taking this (dead) tree down years ago and now we wanted to hire them to make it their problem and put their crew in danger and the access into my yard would be very difficult and why should he put his expensive crane in a situation that could damage it. i was never so shocked in my life and should have escorted him off my property immediately. they gave us a absurd quote that no sane person would take. all he needed to say was we dont/ want this job and thank you for considering us.... read more
