Never in my life did I think I would do two things I did today; stop by a flower stand two separate times for flowers--followed by immediately returning home to write a Yelp review on the experience. In a rush to meet my mom for a birthday lunch, I cut across Saxony to get from Leucadia Boulevard to Encinitas Boulevard. I planned to just hit a local grocery store for flowers--until LOPEZ FLOWERS showed up like an oasis on my right-hand side. Immediately stopped with my daughter and went inside. Wound up picking out a bouquet that ran us $20 and was blown away. Thought it was going to be at least $40 (which would've been a steal)--if not more. Brought to my mom at lunch and she looked visibly frustrated, assuming we'd spent over $50 on flowers for her. Told her the bouquet was only $20 and she asked me for the address on the spot. On the way back home, my daughter suggested we go back again as my wife was returning from a work trip. My wife stops at Trader Joes weekly for flowers and I've been know to hit little pop-up stands in north county to get her flowers. She walked to see the flowers we bought and she was even more blown away than my mom--as she buys flowers weekly and has never seen anything near this impressive at that price point. She vowed to never buy another bouquet from Trader Joe's again and said he'll make the out-of-the-way trek to Lopez Flowers as she was that impressed. Bonus points for tremendous customer service as the woman there couldn't have been nicer to my daughter. When I let her know my daughter asked us to stop by a second time for my wife, she grabbed some random flowers on the spot and made my daughter a mini-bouquet, free of charge. Beyond impressed. Wouldn't have written all this if not. Have lived in Southern California for over two decades and haven't found a flower shop / stand that comes close to what Lopez does. Highly recommend! read more

I was picking my mom and sister up from the airport so I decided to get them flowers. I stopped at a local flower shop on the corner... I won't mention any names. They had pre made bouquets for like 40 plus dollars.. and I could only find one that looked half decent. The rest had mold and only one rose. So I decided to get the one and just give it to the both of them. So as I was driving I decided I just couldn't do that. So I yelped and found Lopez's flower shop.. I told her I wanted to spend 30 dollars on a happy bouquet. She made me the prettiest bouquet I've ever seen in my life. Not to mention it was 4 times the size of my $40 dollar bouquet. I would just like the public to be aware that the owners son stole my valuable bike that had a baby seat on the back which he cut off and destroyed. He trespassed late at night on our fully front fenced property in order to steal it knowing we have small children. My husband saw him riding it and called the police after he confronted him. The mother (owner) went inside and retrieved the sawed off baby seat which was being hidden on site at Lopez flowers indicating they knew the situation had transpired. Do not go to this flower shop! They advertise $9.99 flower bouquets. I went there to buy my Mom flowers for her birthday. I grabbed a bouquet from the $9.99 section but when I went to pay Mrs. Lopez she charged me $16.99. I showed her the section I got the flowers and she said "oh those are $14.99." There was no $14.99 price tag or section in the store. I said fine I'll pay the $14.99. When I went to pay, I gave her my credit card and she said the $14.99 price is cash only! What!?! First you charge me more than the advertised price, you make up a random price, then you say it's a cash only price! Horrible, dishonest service! I will never return! I am all about supporting the local flower business but not this one! read more
