My father passed away and I needed to coordinate floral arrangements for his celebration of life service that was scheduled 4 days out. Everything happened so fast, and this was my first time coordinating such type of service, but also losing a parent... It was a stressful time, and the research I did online did not have what I wanted. The floral arrangements never arrived the way I wanted, and the fullness was rarely there for those online orders. I did not want to take the risk for such an important day, so I decided to shop in person. I chose Oceanside Florist as the others online did not have the color palette I wanted. There were 2 sisters inside, and they were both so nice and hard working. I explained to them my situation, and although they had 2 weddings the same weekend as my father's celebration of life service, they graciously penciled me in. I was so grateful. The arrangements I saw inside were also so beautiful, so I knew they were the right choice. They also gave me words of comfort, which was so appreciated. They are a family owned business, and it is evident that they take pride in their work. They delivered the flowers as expected, and were so kind. While beautiful and timely upon delivery (day before Mother's Day) in a lovely ceramic pitcher, there was almost no water in the container. Cluster baby roses and daisies both wilted dismally in less than 48 hours, in spite of cutting ends and adding water. Roses went down in a few days. I placed an order online for a flower delivery for my friend's birthday. They delivered it on the wrong date, an entire week before I specified the delivery date. When the flowers were delivered, they told my friend happy Mother's Day. That's not what the flowers were for! And I even had a note that said happy birthday. Also I ordered the deluxe, which was an added cost, and from the picture my friend sent me, it looked like a basic $12 bouquet of mixed flowers that you could have purchased at the store. I understand minor substitutions that may need to be made because of flower availability, but when paying $70+ for a specific floral arrangement ($55 base), I don't expect that arrangement to look completely different from the one ordered. Different flowers, different greenery, different color scheme, completely different style and color of vase, a smaller size and considerably fewer flowers. Please see the two very different arrangements below and tell my why I should be satisfied with the many substitutions made? You can't see in the photo below, but the arrangement delivered has a small orange glass vase. This was my first order with this business. Sadly, I am not inclined to return for repeat business. When I looked at the arrangements that were pre-made, I didn't find one that as the right fit for the recipient. Let me show you what an egotistical florist looks like. I was referred to Oceanside Florist by the local mortuary that uses them. I decided it would be best to send a personal bouquet to a friend who had recently experienced a loss. Because Peggy followed up with me several times, I decided to purchase flowers from them without shopping for any other florists. This was a big mistake since I always look for the best designers in the town before ordering anything. I sent a photo to Peggy, and she said they could accommodate me. I warned her that I am very particular about flowers and that I wanted the flowers to look like the photo or better. Peggy emailed me and told that Mary would be in on Saturday and that she knows all about my order. When I call Mary, I repeat the same thing to her, but go into more detail. I want the same flowers that shown in the photos. And if anything is added, I would prefer hydrangeas or peonies. Mary never said one word about not having the flowers that were shown in the photo. I made it clear to her that I wasn't in a rush, and that if she didn't have the flowers, she could get them at the floral mart as I want her to take her time on it. I indicated that cost was NOT a factor. I reiterated that I wanted what was shown in the photo and was willing to pay whatever it costs. I also asked for a photo of the flowers before anything is delivered, and I wanted it in time to make any modifications before delivery. This was my requirement for paying whatever they believed it would take to make it exactly how I wanted it. She quoted me 170.00, which included a 30.00 vase. I should have been suspicious when I heard this. I didn't think she was charging me enough. I informed her that I would be sending a special handwritten card via express mail as I wanted it included in the delivery. I spent 27.00 to send the card to them. Around 2 hours after sending the card, I get a text of the arrangement. It was so far off that it was totally unacceptable. She had the audacity to put CARNATIONS in an upscale floral arrangement, along with a center rose that was on its way to the graveyard. I inform her of my displeasure via text, and I point out areas that I believe are wrong. At the end of my text, I inform her that if she follows the photo, she can't go wrong. In less than 30 minutes, I get another text saying that she talked to her manager, and they are refunding my money. They can't do it. When I call them, I speak to another woman who goes on about how they have been in business over 60 years, and that all of them are award winning designers. Okay, great. I ask her, "Can you have another award-winning designer make the arrangement?" I had already spent money to send a handmade card to them. She continues to defend their designer and apologize. She informs me they will send me the card back." I'm sorry, HONEY," she says. Honey? I sent the card from NYC to California express mail and now I'm out of the money and the card. She went on to say that their "award-winning" designers do not copy photos, but instead, they use their design skills to create unique variations. She spent time defending the designer and saying things that were simply not true. Claiming the designer said she was going to switch out the vase. An untruth. Claiming certain a certain flower was out of season. Another untruth. I asked her what their "award-winning" designer does when it comes to wedding flowers. The arrangement I asked for was a table design for a wedding. I asked if when a bride comes in with photos, do they look at the photo and provide the designs she asks for, or do they just do what they want. Of course not. So if you have the ability to deliver flowers exactly how the bride wants, then why can't you design what I want? No answer for that. At the end of the day, Oceanside Florist's refused to fix the problem. It was was a big fat F-bomb. F-bomb your friend, your card, and the flowers you wanted to send because you have insulted our "award-winning" designer. "By golly, our ego is way more important than providing excellent customer service. And on top of this, it doesn't matter how much you pay us. You don't have the right to ask for what you want, even if you are paying for it." Because they gave me the finger, I'm giving them one by showing the photo of the design they did next to the one I requested. You be the judge. read more

Oceanside Florist was our Wedgewood floral vendor for our last minute wedding. We made an appointment with them as soon as we could, after deciding to take a date that another couple backed-out of. They set up an appointment with us fairly quickly, and gave us two books to inspire some ideas in us. We basically told them two things about the flowers: 1) shades of purple were our wedding colors and 2) I prefer a wild-flower type look. They brought out a couple of different flowers for us to view, and we basically loved everything. We ended up with beautiful wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, and sweetheart table floral arrangements. It was a perfect fit for the atmosphere and the overall decor of the room. They were such a hit that all the flowers were taken at the end of the night! We loved their design and highly recommend this business! read more

I called this floral shop and made an order over the phone.. I specifically told the lady what fruit basket I wanted and flowers I wanted I nice Bouquet of daisies and roses with baby's breath.. I always order them from here for my grandmother and she'll call me and starting gushing about how beautiful and fresh they are and how much longer they last by literal weeks above other florists in the area! I have no idea if they're considered pricier but either way it's worth every cent just to make her day. This company took an order to deliver on base and .they don't deliver on base. I ordered a beautiful multicolored table setting as a housewarming gift to my daughter in law and my son. The next day they man called me im a private line, I don't pick up private lines, and he didn't leave a message letting me know that my party was going to have to meet him at the gate.! I guess they miss the surprise part of the delivery buisiness.! They are closed on Sunday sho calling back monday im treated to being called a liar in the background as the owner repeats my words as I say I didn't receive a call. after hanging up with a pseudo arrangement where my daughter in law wil take time out from unpacking at bedroom house having moved cross country to meet this jerk at the gate I check my phone. I did receive 1 no name call I note. No message. But it's the same number I dialed to the company several times sat and that 1st time on monday! The guy wasn't answering his own phone. I called back and told the manager whoi was all , .what do want to do about it now.... Not upset my daughter in law is what I chose. She met the guy and sent a photo thanking me for the flowers . By now I was sure and received a bouquet of white carnations and 1 or 2 pale roses. Now I get my turn. This was Jan. 2019 I an retired. I came in to this florist for a quote on my wedding flowers. I did not book them as my florist for many reasons so I can't comment on their art but their service was just awful. The first thing I have to comment on was the attitude we received when walking in the door, the owner did not seem enthused to help us at all and I hate to assume that she was displeased with our appearance that day (looking pretty scrubby in our lounge clothes) but the attitude seemed to lighten a bit once we told her we didn't have a budget. I thought we all learned our lesson from Pretty Women people but I guess not... *Okay assumption went too far* Anyhoo, The communication wasn't very good. About a week and a half after our first meeting I had to call them to see if they had finished the quote and I was asked if I could wait until after Valentines Day (about 5 weeks away from my wedding date). That's fine but after me having to email asking for it twice after the 14th I finally got the quote on the 22nd ...One day after booking with someone else and a few weeks after our original meeting. I'm glad it worked out that way though because she quoted me $60.00 more per centerpiece than I ended up paying. *Yikes* that would have been $600.00 more... Not happy with an arrangement that was delivered to a friend in the Oceanside area. The order called for lavender roses similar to Lavonda roses(shown in picture for the Melody morning on website) with two fillers and foilage. Instead they received an arrangement that had pink roses with one filler and variegated foliage. Not even similar in shape to the picture shown- I could have purchased this arrangement at a local grocery store for half the price. I understand that substitutions can be made. I received a very expensive bouquet from an out of town niece. It was the most dreary looking bunch I've ever seen...wilted lavender roses and pink carnations. Plus amother third of the flowers were also wilting. They were all crammed into the vase with no room for stems nor blossoms...choked to death. The lady asked us what we wanted pointed out a few options in their store. We picked out one and she offered to go play with it and make it even more beautiful. We were so please with how she went above and beyond. Really just the regular arrangement was nice but what she did to it was truly art. I think she mentioned it was a family owned shop (I can't remember, I was really flustered with my grandma's situation) The shop itself was beautiful and smelt great.
