I do like Native Poppy. Every year I get arrangements for my birthday, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day. It's just so overpriced. I'm not seeing the value at this point. The selection is limited, the space in South Park is cramped. It feels like the price needs to go down by about 40-50%. My husband spent $350 on an arrangement at NP. I went somewhere else for my mom's flowers, saw an arrangement I LOVED and it was bigger and cost $180. So yeah, I think Naive Poppy and I are parting ways. read more

Whenever I'm at Cedros Design District I visit Native Poppy. They have the cutest things inspired with a flower / garden theme accessories to pair with their adorable flower shop. My last visit I got their Grapefruit & Mangosteen Scented Goat Milk Lotion. I wear this everyday and since it's made out of goat milk it's perfect for my sensitive skin. I love the scent and I always get compliments because of the scent. It's pricier than other lotions its size, but totally worth it. Staff here is always nice. read more

Native Poppy is the most delightful store in Cedes, and there are several. Is just the color palette so soothing, the awesome flower quality, the customer service so friendly. I loved talking to the employees (and also admiring the floral tattooes of one of them!). There are so many bouquets in their menu creation that you can choose from and and birthdays or celebration cards is very extensive. First time using Native Poppy and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Having heard about Native Poppy when they first opened in South Park, I was always waiting to find an occasion to purchase flowers. As this purchase was for a special birthday, I opted to go with the Classic Wrapped Flowers in the variant of Simple and elegant. I ordered online with their easy to use website with a pick up for later in the evening. Having arrived, the staff was super helpful and handed me my beautiful arrangement of classic wrapped flowers. I had ordered flowers online for Valentine's and had missed out on the specials but I did have the option of adding notes to the florist who worked on my flower arrangement. They have delivery available too but I opted for pick up. It's a nice little flower shop with a few 30 minute parking spots for customers. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice bouquet or arrangement. They have quite a few options online and it was very easy to order. I was really excited when I moved to Cardiff this year and stumbled upon native poppy. I loved the vibe of the store and what they sold and was excited to come back. However every time I came back, the experience made me feel disheartened. The employees would barely look up from either what they were working on or their conversations with another employee. I was in my wedding planning era and had lots of fun chatting with all kinds of vendors throughout my experience. But this place numerous times made me feel so small and like I didn't matter as a person. I thought that maybe it was just a one off so I kept coming back. But I kept having the same experience. Their customer service team reached out to me to apologize for the inconvenience and they refunded me a very decent portion of what I paid for the bouquet, flower crown, and boutonnière. Although it was still an inconvenience to have to find another arrangement last minute, this is exactly how you should handle a situation like this with amazing customer service. This place has such a cute concept! There is an easy to access parking lot attached, with a beautiful walkable area. Inside of the store you're able to create your own stunning fragrant flowers. Walking into the building you're welcomed with the aroma of flowers & candles. The cashier was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing the different options for orders going on at the time. Unfortunately the flowers delivered to my mom as a get well were not in good condition and in fact died in 3 days (quite expensive for 3 days) I reached out and they requested a picture to ensure they did not "send the same flowers". Arrangement came and looked beautiful. However, it did not last long. A lot of the flowers are wilting, and it's only been 4 and a half days. I take good care of my flowers. My flowers from Trader Joe's are still alive and fresh and it's been 2 weeks. These shouldn't have wilted so fast. Such a shame because I was hoping to find my new florist place. :( read more

You can create a bouquet yourself from the display and they're all individual flowers so you can play around with colors, etc. and if you don't really have an eye, they will make one for you and you can just point to what flowers and colors you like. Native Poppy is just the sweetest! This curated flower shop is a dream when you're looking to build a show-stopping, splurge-y flower arrangement. I cruise past this place a lot, but finally found a time to come in solo. My visit was around closing time, but still the selection was plentiful! Pincushion flowers are one of my favorites, so I built my bouquet around those. Once I got to the point that I needed a little advising, one of the shop pros Emily helped shape things up & make it a finished piece of perfection. I will say though, if you have a super sensitive nose, skip the little white filler flowers. I couldn't figure out what that crazy smell was in my house, and it took almost a day to realize it was my beautiful bouquet! I still love it though and happily enjoy the beauty over the funky funk. Native Poppy is pricey, but you're getting something unique and totally customized. I ordered flowers to be delivered to San Marcos and had to pay $50 because it is outside of their range. Fair enough. The driver left the flowers on the doorstep in the hot sun. By the time my friend picked them up they were sad and wilted. $160 wasted. I even tipped the driver. So embarrassing and just horrible service for very expensive organic flowers. read more

I've gotten arrangements twice for a family friend's passing and they were gracious and thoughtful both times. The first time my friend watched as the delivery person arrived and was so careful in wiping down the vase and making the arrangement perfect for her family. She was really touched by his thoughtfulness. The second time I had to request for same day delivery last minute. They were so quick to respond and make it happen. I went to a bachelorette party in Encinitas over the weekend. The bride is Hawaiian and flower crowns are big in her culture. They hired Native Poppy to come to the boutique hotel we were staying at to do a class on making flower crowns! I had no idea something like this could be brought to us. It was so fun getting to walk in to such a beautiful set up for this event! The tables were lined with vases of different flowers and each seat was set up with a "flower menu" and the materials we would need to create a flower crown. The woman from Native Poppy gave very clear and easy to understand instructions for how to make the flower crowns. It was such a fun process to learn how to do this with my friends and see how everyone's crown turned out at the end! There was a lot going on with this event but everything was well-organized and it did not become chaotic like I think it could have if the people in charge had not explained things properly. Once we finished up with our crowns, staff came around and fit the crown to our heads and taught us about the right positioning for where it should sit. It was amazing to go through the tedious process of making a crown and then see how beautiful it turned out at the end! They even taught us about how to travel with the crowns and how to store them to make them last a while longer. This was the ultimate girls day event and such a creative activity to do together with friends! The flowers were all great quality and the staff did an excellent job teaching us but also letting us do our own thing. Cannot recommend Native Poppy enough. As a fellow vendor and having seen their work at multiple weddings prior, I knew I had to pick them for my own wedding. We had a small backyard wedding and made our table arrangements, but I had them make my bouquet, our bridesmaids bouquets and two meadow aisle markers for ceremony. I sent a very unique color palette and inspiration for the flowers and they came out INCREDIBLE! As a result of the COVID crisis, our plans were shifting daily in the last few weeks before the event. Although we still held a celebration, the original plans changed completely. Native Poppy just popped up in the Solona Beach hood and the shop is an oasis of fresh cut flowers, hip and uniquely curated curios, and passionately crafted arrangements. My wife and I popped in to check out the shop for a uber late Mother's Day arrangement (a week-sorry mom!). We were greeted when entered, asked if we needed help or had questions and introduced to the stem bar as well as their own arrangements. We decided to check out the "Stem Bar" which gives you the opportunity to build your own bouquet based on your preferred floral tastes, intended vase size and depth of your pockets. We put together a cute and fragrant arrangement. The shop is spacious inside, easy to navigate and bright and airy with its roll up garage door. The flowers were insanely crisp and healthy and the options to choose from were abundant with many that I never heard of. I used a strip mall (actual in an industrial park) floral shop for our wedding a few years ago-those flowers wilted day-of. I would imagine the quality out of shops like this would be over the moon for custom stuff. Def. keeping them in mind for future events if I need floral arrangements (hopefully not another wedding!). read more

UPDATE: Natalie reached out to me and we reached a solution to the browning roses, so I have faith in the next bouquets! Native Poppy have always provided the best customer service. Additionally, most of my past bouquets have been fantastic and there has only been 2 or 3 bouquets that have included roses that browned and wilted very quickly. I have included some photos of the past bouquets that I have received! Previous: My boyfriend has been getting me flowers from Native Poppy every month and they're beautiful but I realize that some of the flowers (particularly the roses) are always wilting from the inside. The most recent bouquet was for Valentine's Day, which I picked up on Thursday. However, one of the roses started browning and wilting from the inside. When I examined it, the roses had a soggy brown section at the base (per the photo). I am a bit disappointed with the quality of the roses, especially with the more expensive Valentine's Day wrap. read more

Native Poppy provided beautiful flower centerpieces for our rehearsal dinner at a restaurant in Downtown San Diego. Devon was very helpful in recommending the perfect amount of flowers to fill the tables and worked with me to create the order within our budget. The flowers were delivered to the restaurant with no issues and we were able to set up the tables with plenty of time prior to our guests' arrival. The combination of vase size, color, and texture created the perfect look for our night. I loved the flowers so much we took them home to re-use as centerpieces for our day after the wedding brunch. Despite the heat, everything held up and looked just as good almost two days later! The price point of their florals is a little high but after seeing the centerpieces in person it was absolutely worth it. I plan to stop by their Solana Beach shop to buy an arrangement any time I'm in the area. read more

We picked up our flower crown order on Sunday but it was definitely not the quality we were expecting. We had been to Native Poppy a few times already and we were so excited to pick up the order. When we picked it up, we noticed that it didn't look similar quality/quantity florals to the website. The florist told us that the picture on the website is the biggest Grace Flower Crown she's ever seen and that she was trained to make the Grace Flower Crown how we received it. We said we were disappointed and that the photos were misleading but the staff didn't say anything, and we were not given any solutions to fix it. We have attached two photos below: 1) The photos on the website for the Grace Flower Crown and 2) The Grace Flower Crown website photos vs what we received. You can see that there is a huge different in quality and quantity of florals in what we received. Even the front of the floral crown, statement florals cover at least 1/3 of the model's head but is only about 1/6 of the crown we received. And what we received was covered in more greenery than florals for the rest of the crown. We understand that florals are dependent on what is in season and I've ordered flowers from them before where I know you might receive something a little different from the website, but you can tell even the quality and quantity doesn't come at all comparable to what was advertised. It's as disappointing as when you see a food commercial and when it comes out, it definitely doesn't look like the advertisement. For $70 total, you would expect the crown to be described similarly or accurately. We emailed Native Poppy as soon as we left the store and the owner called me 4 days later. We received a partial refund and I appreciate that the owner took the time to try to fix it. read more
