We have two large dogs that are well behaved but can be a lot to handle when out in the busy streets of Chicago with traffic, pedestrians and lots of other dogs around. Our dog walker has to be someone who is physically strong and also smart and responsible with the way they handle dogs. Terrisa is a pro. She knows what she is doing and we feel completely comfortable leaving her in charge of our furry kids. When we are away, we trust that Terrisa will feed our dogs their special dietary food and give them their proper medication. One time while on vacation, one of our dogs got sick and not only made huge messes all over our place (that Terrisa cleaned up for us without hesitation or complaint) but that also required him to be taken to the vet and acquire medication. Being out the country, my husband and I were in a panic. Terrisa got our dog to the vet right away, got him his meds and nursed him back to health, all while we enjoyed our vacation away. My dogs love Terrisa. They get so excited when they see her. Terrisa is a wonderful dog sitter and a responsible and sensible person. I highly recommend her for any pet sitting or dog walking needs!

This hospital and staff are incredible! No canned "mission statements", no scripted patter, no ads on a loop if they briefly put you on hold, just old-fashioned good veterinarian care. They also aren't anything like a cat or dog in most ways. One thing about parrots is that they are animals of prey and their bodies can literally show very little to no sign of illness until they're next to dead. In the wild, that gets them killed. That makes it essential to have dependable, quality aviary services. My bird is currently 28 and has his whole life ahead of him with proper nutrition and care. Lou has been part of our family since he hatched and I love him dearly. In fact, the entire neighborhood loves Lou. Anytime it's nice enough, I push his cage onto the front porch. He talks to the neighbors and he barks with the neighborhood dogs. My roommate drives a special van for work that makes a beeping noise when it's in reverse and has brought it home for lunch a few times. Now, if Lou is out on the front porch and he sees a neighbor back out of their driveway, he makes the same noise garbage trucks make. This is obviously a special bird that I can't entrust to just anyone. Lou has received extraordinary care in the past and I know what that looks like. Sadly, I am so disappointed and dissatisfied with the services I received at All Pets that I am now going to be taking him to Champaign for his future needs. I am willing to do what I have to to get my bird the best care. The first time I brought my bird in for a checkup, I feel the doctor performed a bunch of unnecessary tests that had just been done by his previous vet. When you bring your pet in, especially an exotic pet, you are entrusting your pet's care to that vet. Whatever that vet says my pet needed, I gave him. My daughter also has two birds. One was ill. We took her in. The same veterinarian prescribed an antibiotic that went in the bird's water. Before we got the antibiotic, I asked the veterinarian about the antibiotic he was prescribing and if it was another one more commonly prescribed to birds. He told me he was giving us this antibiotic that went in the water instead and that it was cheaper than the antibiotic I asked about. Not two days later, All Pets called my daughter to tell her that she needed to come and pick up another antibiotic for her bird. And, guess what? It turns out it's the antibiotic I had asked the vet about. I go pick the medication up for my daughter and it isn't cheaper than the first medication. The prices are actually very close but the second drug was cheaper. Truthfully, we didn't care about the cost of the antibiotic but we wanted the BEST one for the bird. I bring the new antibiotic to my daughter and see that All Pets gave her a minuscule amount of liquid antibiotics in a test tube. It was such a ridiculous amount that I would've gone back if they were still open. I'm guessing they measured out the exact amount a cockatiel would need without accounting for any possible waste or the fact that it was less than a thimbleful of liquid and dried out with air. My daughter gave the bird the medication until it dried out. The bird got sick again and had to do an entire second course of antibiotics. I understand All Pets is a business and that they need to make a profit. When they cut corners like that to do it, the patient suffers. I don't care where I have to drive, I am taking my pets to a vet that puts the animal care first. That was just not my experience here.

You might say my husband and I were anti-boarding. We'd never read about a boarding service that…read moreseemed like it would be as good for our dog as it was convenient for us. Play All Day, though, is a totally different kind of boarding. The dogs are active throughout the day, both with other animals and with the people who work here. April is great with dogs of all sorts of personalities, matching them up with other dogs they'll like, and gradually helping them warm up to the new environment. Our dog was very nervous about the daycare/boarding, but she worked with him over several visits, and by the time we picked up him after a 10+ night stay, he... well, he was happy to see us, but I don't think he really wanted to go home! The services here are more expensive than at many other boarding facilities, but we found that it's ultimately an awesome value for the great care that they provide, and the knowledge that our dog isn't just getting fed and let out to potty, but is actually having a great time. We will definitely be using Play All Day again and would recommend to absolutely any dog owner to try them out for daycare or boarding.

I would not hesitate for one second to call and ask if she can come to daycare for any reason. We're wanting to take a vacation, call PAD. We wanted to go to the fair for a day and had no one to let her out at home, called PAD. They really are like a second home to our dog and I'm so glad I called and got on the waiting list when she was only 10 weeks old. We used to use the vet's boarding in town for my older dog and it was awful because he was in a typical concrete kennel with dog barking echoing in his ears for 24 hours a day, only being let out to potty a few times a day. I did not want this for my young dog so I looked for alternatives and this is the complete opposite at PAD. My dog is only crated at nap time and bed time, just like it would be at my house and I know she's so tired from running crazy all day that she probably gets in her crate at daycare and goes right to sleep. Daycare is a 50 minute drive for us one-way and as soon as we turn onto Carver Ln, she's pacing back and forth because she knows we're almost there. We walk in, they say hi to Ruby and she's already racing towards the play door. This is a heart-felt review and I feel like when I drop her off, sounds silly, but it's like dropping a toddler off at grandma's house. You know she'll be taken care of and you don't worry that she's getting into things.
