The grounds are immaculate as you are escorted to your room. We spent a pretty penny but well worth it while visiting the Roman Baths which were less than a Mile away. Breakfast was included during our stay. Instead of going to restaurant for a full breakfast we opted for the breakfast in bed which consisted of a continental breakfast with meats n cheeses as well as coffee, tea and juices. Very satisfying.

Also got lucky with it still being coronation month when I was there, they still had the coronation high tea. Perfect! The Royal crescent hotel is a stellar location to have the tea at. Definitely in a league if it's own, in Bath. The hotel itself was fascinating and very classic and beautiful. The restaurant where you have the tea is in the grounds and the scenery is just stunning. Lush greenery everywhere and beautiful flowers, and just the most beautiful setting for a very classy British tea. We all opted for the Coronation high tea, and I added a glass of champagne, because why not! We all picked our teas from an extensive list. I had the masala chai which was a nice take on the Indian chai with spices . Others had granny's garden, morning dew and the yunnan black tea. Lots of different colors! The champagne was also lovely! The tiered plates came with lots of delicious bites, the finger sandwiches were awesome, they had smoked salmon, the classic cucumber, egg salad, roast beef, and we opted for some vegetarian ones too, the roasted red pepper , basil and lemon hummus was my favorite. The plum tomato chutney also really good, and there was a guacamole, dill and lime one. You get unlimited amounts of finger sandwiches! The bread was so nice and grainy and soft. The array of sweet treats was mind boggling. Cakes, pastries, scones with real clotted cream and jam! Bath buns, specialty of the area Kinda really loved the scones and bath buns. The cute chocolate crown on the brownie was adorable and delicious. Everything here was just fabulous. Such a fun afternoon experience with my high school friends. The service was awesome, felt very high society ! One of the fanciest teas I've had.

First time staying at a five star hotel and while the amenities (free parking, breakfast included)…read morewere great (especially given that there is no parking in bath), the service of all the waitresses/waiters lacking. Maybe it's because most, if not all them were really young but they didn't seem to have things all together. For instance when we went outside for an afternoon tea, the waitress forgot to fold napkins for us and gave us them pretty much half way to the end of our tea. It didn't bother me but it's something I definitely noticed. At a certain point we had to seek out waitstaff to get our final plate of scones and another cup. In another instance, a member of waitstaff totally got an order wrong (asked for one cup of tea but ended up with an entire pot) but we didn't want to bother them by correcting them. It's something that can easily be corrected with better training but for a five star hotel this should not be happening constantly. As for the room, loved it and especially the bathtub in the spacious bathroom. The tv had a HDMI and USB port which was really fun. Also the spa was included in the visit which was nice to experience, though the ice room was lacking. I loved my stay and this is just me frankly being nit picky because of the hotel being five star but NONE of these things made my experience any less enjoyable or memorable. It was a super relaxing stay in bath. I would come back LOL

Great location in historical house by Pulteney Bridge…read more We stayed in a suite for a couple nights. The suite had two bedrooms, which was nice for a family, but being a Georgian house, there were quirks. The floors were very uneven, to the point that I would feel vertiginous walking around. The bathroom had uneven water pressure where the temperature fluctuated wildly, and there was not enough counter space for 4 people. There was a nice sitting room but definitely not enough closet space. However, the location is so lovely. It's about a block from the Pulteney Bridge and also a block from a full sized Waitrose. It's a short walk to the train station, Bath Abbey, and the Roman Baths. Staff is friendly and generally competent. The front desk staff was a little confused and slow, and, while the rooms were generally clean, I don't advise that guests look under the beds or behind the furniture, as those are very dusty (ick). I love that they leave biscuits to go with tea daily and that they actually replenish everything on a daily basis. Those biscuits were life savers for my jetlagged children whose stomachs were not yet on UK time. I contacted the hotel a couple times before we arrived. They were not able to help with arranging for a babysitter (they told me to Google "Bath" and "babysitter"), but they did give me good information about a wheelchair rental for my husband. I would consider returning here on a future visit.

And yet, for $230 a night, checked into this dank, dark box that would give young Mister Potter's cupboard under the stairs a run for its money. One meager lamp that would barely shine any light on the space, and incredibly poor ventilation. Also, the hotel claims to offer secure luggage storage for guests and yet I returned to find an unattended lobby and guests' belongings just out in the open for anyone to grab or tamper with. When raising concerns with hotel, verbally and in writing, they offered nothing but slight platitudes and defensive rhetoric. Zero mindfulness of customer service. In short, avoid. Bath has much better to offer.

The shower is beautifully tiled, but it's hard to figure out how to turn on the shower and there are no bars to hold on to. I started to stand there (since there's glass closest to the faucet control, & adjust the hot/cold control, while getting a cold shower above). 2. The bed is completely covered up so tightly like a package. I twist a nerve on my wrist, trying to un-do the comforters, so I can get inside, and it got too hot during the night, that I ended up sleeping partly outside of my covers, I guest I went too far and I also uncovered part of the fitted sheet as part of my covers, it is no wonder, MY COVERS are too heavy & thick! 3. Several of us, our rooms weren't ready when we entered the hotel, our Tour Director weren't happy about that! UPDATE: See photo. 4. The closet is heated, so while rushing out to catch the bus, I put on my heated-coat, it was giving me hot flushes as we walked down the elevator to the bus, in a sweaty-smelly cranky mood! Other than that, the lights in the bathroom, the decor, the view from our room, they're just perfect, even the chairs, the cushion, the Elle June issue, and tea selections, I just learned the proper way of drinking tea the British way, yeah! We ate here twice for breakfast & twice for dinner, the 2nd night a huge crowd and the staff were hard at work even though we could tell they were understaffed. Food were delicious! BTW: We're not very close to the beach, but there are plenty of seagulls and you could hear them, they're annoying!

With a moderate walk, you gain access to the central core of this historic city. However, our July visit was plagued by the horrible breakfast fare. For the money, the management could really upgrade the selections. The main issue was the broken coffee machine. In the height of the tourist season why would you not make every effort to fix this machine immediately. We asked and got no satisfactory answer. Bad, bad, bad. The grocery store across the street was our savior. We bought some fresh breakfast items and brought them back to the hotel as a last resort. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The parking is very tight and limited. Come on guys, you can do better!

The room was large and spacious, clean and tidy. It looked quite new, but i am not sureof it was recently refurbished or just looked after. There was loads of choice and it was served buffet style in a large spacious restaurant which provided newspapers and a large tv screen. The staff were lovely and polite and abl to give me loads of information about what to see and do in the town.
