Also, the hotel claims to offer secure luggage storage for guests and yet I returned to find an unattended lobby and guests' belongings just out in the open for anyone to grab or tamper with. When raising concerns with hotel, verbally and in writing, they offered nothing but slight platitudes and defensive rhetoric. Zero mindfulness of customer service. In short, avoid. Bath has much better to offer.

The suite had two bedrooms, which was nice for a family, but being a Georgian house, there were quirks. The floors were very uneven, to the point that I would feel vertiginous walking around. The bathroom had uneven water pressure where the temperature fluctuated wildly, and there was not enough counter space for 4 people. There was a nice sitting room but definitely not enough closet space. However, the location is so lovely. It's about a block from the Pulteney Bridge and also a block from a full sized Waitrose. It's a short walk to the train station, Bath Abbey, and the Roman Baths. Staff is friendly and generally competent. The front desk staff was a little confused and slow, and, while the rooms were generally clean, I don't advise that guests look under the beds or behind the furniture, as those are very dusty (ick). I love that they leave biscuits to go with tea daily and that they actually replenish everything on a daily basis. Those biscuits were life savers for my jetlagged children whose stomachs were not yet on UK time. I contacted the hotel a couple times before we arrived. They were not able to help with arranging for a babysitter (they told me to Google "Bath" and "babysitter"), but they did give me good information about a wheelchair rental for my husband. I would consider returning here on a future visit.

They provide a map arrival and are happy to book taxi's (about £8 ride into town), restaurants and tours. Each room has different features so take a look online before booking. I stayed in one of the rooms on the top level which was spacious and relatively quiet. There is a room that sits next to reception and the breakfast room which I imagine might be too loud unless you are up early catching worms and the like :)

We were in a family suite downstairs that was very quiet with a good queen bed and a twin in a separate room. A door opened to the backyard with seating areas. There was tea, coffee, mini bar and a lovely bathroom. The inn also has a full honesty bar upstairs for any extra drink you may want before or after dinner. It's a 35 min walk into town, with options of taxi or bus. A 10-15 min to a couple restaurants that are on the river nearby. Also there is a lovely path along the river, great for a morning walk, not too far away. Cheers!

The indoor pool is immaculate, spacious and an oasis to soak your tired bones from all the sight seeing and relax and decompress. It's 70 GBP for a day pass, but free for hotel guests during the hours from 8-10am and 7-9pm. Take advantage of it, it's wonderful. The restaurant is top notch. Tables are spaced nicely so you can have an intimate meal. The wine/bubbly are on display in the center of the room. There's a fireplace for those cozy moments. The continental breakfast is next level --- so many pastries, deli meats, cheese, salmon/lox, 5 different fresh juices, porridge (oatmeal) made to order with either milk or water, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits and more. Comes with toast (brown, white or mix). Wonderful decadent butter (both salted or unsalted), tasty local honey and jams. Rich, robust coffee to help you start your day. The service is friendly, prompt and non intrusive. You can savor your morning, never feeling rushed. You do need to select a breakfast time in advance at check in, but it's well worth it. The facilities is quaint. Gave off modern vibes and reminded me of the Oxbow in Bend or the Atticus in McMinville (both Oregon boutique hotels). They also have a special scent made specifically for this location - you walk in and immediately feel transported to fall - warm spices, apple cinnamon. It envelopes you and sets the tone for the stay. The room is spacious, well laid out and has the best amenities. Elemis, well stocked refrigerator, etc. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. While I saw all the major sites and ate amazing food, I'd want to come back to Bath just to stay here again. It's that's amazing.

We stopped off at Bath, which hadn't been a city high on our list of places to visit, but now was convenient place to stop. We looked online for a vacancy and the Lansdown Grove Hotel was available Can't say enough about this impressive stone structure hotel set upon a hill overlooking the town of Bath. It seems Italian inspired in decor. The room was comfortable and stylish. We even had a courtyard outside our back door. The courtyard led to other levels of terrace and park like areas. The food was excellent. In the evening, after an afternoon of exploring the town, we enjoyed a drink in the lounge. I've rarely experienced a more inviting bar/lounge. The terrace doors were open on this summer night. It was really quite magical. The hotel reminded us somewhat of the villa in "Enchanted April". Highly recommend. It was reasonably priced for what was offered. 133 EP. Some might find elements a little funky, like the carpet or the varying levels, but these things we found charming. Only one complaint - the shower is a little difficult to operate.

We were near the end of our trip and it really felt like we were visiting friends, instead of just checking into another room. The home is beautiful and well kept. (Beautiful bathrooms which I thought was perfect!) Breakfast in the morning was the best we had anywhere. We were given great tips on the area and you can tell Glyn and Diane really love this city. I would have liked to stay longer... I literally dream of coming back to Bath and mostly its because of our fantastic stay at Hawkins.

I arranged a bridal tea for my daughter who was getting married that weekend. Our party included…read morethe bride and groom, my mother, two sisters and niece. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking, I wish we had arrived earlier to see more of them. We were seated for tea in a living room area and eventually were able to order. My sister joined us late, after we had placed out tea orders. When they brought our sandwiches and scones my sister ordered tea for herself. They never brought it. She asked again after flagging down someone. She eventually had to find the kitchen to get her tea. After the trays were dropped off we never saw our server again. Never came to clear the table, give us our bill, refill our teas, it was unbelievable. I was embarrassed that I had set up our tea at this place, with such poor service. And tea was 45 pounds per person, I would expect better service.

Maybe it's because most, if not all them were really young but they didn't seem to have things all together. For instance when we went outside for an afternoon tea, the waitress forgot to fold napkins for us and gave us them pretty much half way to the end of our tea. It didn't bother me but it's something I definitely noticed. At a certain point we had to seek out waitstaff to get our final plate of scones and another cup. In another instance, a member of waitstaff totally got an order wrong (asked for one cup of tea but ended up with an entire pot) but we didn't want to bother them by correcting them. It's something that can easily be corrected with better training but for a five star hotel this should not be happening constantly. As for the room, loved it and especially the bathtub in the spacious bathroom. The tv had a HDMI and USB port which was really fun. Also the spa was included in the visit which was nice to experience, though the ice room was lacking. I loved my stay and this is just me frankly being nit picky because of the hotel being five star but NONE of these things made my experience any less enjoyable or memorable. It was a super relaxing stay in bath. I would come back LOL

There are three tours to choose from now: Tour 1 (I have not done [because I've seen them all before]): a tour of Stonehenge, a walk in Castle Combe Village, a photo stop at Cherhill White Horse, a visit to the Avebury Stone Circles, a photo stop at Silbury Hill, lunch at Lacock National Trust village. Tour 2 (I recently did): The Cotswold Villages Experience which includes very accessible and highly informative visits/walks through Castle Combe Village, Bibury & Arlington Row, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-On-The-Wold, as well as Malmesbury Abbey & Market Cross. Get ready to be absolutely immersed in the Cotswolds! While our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the area (we learned so many interesting things!) and thoughtful of bio breaks, we felt the day could have been paced better. We were rushed at Bourton-on-the-Water and Malmesbury Abbey; but, we had *far too much* time at both Stow-on-the-Wold (all fourteen of us ended up standing on the street for forty minutes or so waiting for our guide to show back up; that being said, you should absolutely take Mad Max's recommendation to get lunch at Cotswolds Baguettes and eat them near the church with the famous Yew trees!), and - maybe because our tour guide had a personal connection to it - Arlington Row, where we spent a very, very long time standing in front of people's houses. Tour 3 (I have not done): special access to Stonehenge. I do LOVE these kinds of (almost) all-inclusive tours; they take away the anxiety of needing to drive or come up with an itinerary. They also allow you to truly take in the incredible scenery from comfortable small buses that navigate lots of back roads expertly! I just found this particular tour to be a little less personal than when I first visited a few years back (and compared to our experiences with the Heart of Scotland tours out of Edinburgh) AND I'm missing the more varied selection of tours they used to offer as well.

We did the Cotswold tour 8/23/24…read more Scenery wise the tour was interesting, transiting through the lovely and history rich Cotswolds villages. Lunch however was a disaster. After being told, numerous times, told NOT to eat Lunch in Bourton and wait for Stow-On-The-Wold for a sumptuous lunch, we arrived in Stow to find every single pub closed, many for 3-4 days. We wound up having a lunch in a pasty shop that was, as a British Baking Show would call it "Not Worth the Calories. What I don't understand is that the same tour came here 2 days ago so why did they not forward this information? We could of had a lovely lunch in Bourton.
