Hotel is centrally located in the historic centre of Bath. Rooms well appointed, clean and friendly with a quality breakfast.

This was my second stay at this hotel - the first one being in 2018 and it was wonderful with one of the best services I've received in hotels (and I travel for work weekly). This time however, there was little to no warmth in our checkin, minimal perks as a Diamond, and even the breakfast that was supposedly free for us cost me £19. But the worst part was the lack of cleaning - our floor hallway was never vacuumed and the pics bellow are o the same trash in exactly the same spots from time of arrival till departure. Our room was not cleaned either and after multiple requests, they came but only made the bed - bathroom was not cleaned, carpets not vacuumed and coffee/waters not replaced. Overall disappointing and sad that one of my fav hotels in the UK is not spoiled and I won't be going back to it. read more

Narrow and cramped is what I most vividly remember about this hotel. The two elevators are so tight that only a couple people can fit inside, thus there would frequently be a long line of people. Honestly much faster to just take the stairs. We had booked a Twin Guest Room for around £150 per night, which was complimentarily upgraded to a Twin Superior Room due to Hilton Diamond membership. Out of the four floors, our room was on the second with a good view of the city. It had enough space, although the bathroom was small, not that clean, and had a severely clogged sink. The window was also left open prior to our arrival letting in a gigantic housefly that thankfully eventually left on its own. The hotel is located next to River Avon on the edge of the city. It's relatively quiet with only the audible calls of the seagulls. The breakfast buffet at Emma's Bar & Restaurant opens at 6:30 AM. read more

This was perfectly fine. My room was small but clean. My only annoyance was that seagulls were very loud right outside my window, but that wasn't really the hotel's fault. And the location was great for walking around Bath. The front desk was extremely "meh" service-wise. At one point, I had to go down in order to get a toothbrush, and there was a couple waiting who had spoken to someone about a problem they were having, and that person just...disappeared. It ended up being a nice young man from the restaurant who helped me. As to the restaurant: four stars for the breakfast buffet. I ate my fill and then some. read more

We stayed here for a weekend get away. When we tried to book a regular room for 2 adults and 1 child, it would not allow. When I called up they said if your child sleeps in a cot then just book a room for 2 and call them to add a cot. Upon entering the room can see why, it's tiny! The king bed is 2 twin-size pushed together - so there's a crack down the center of the bed. And the beds were not comfortable. Parking is in a garage under the hotel and costs extra - make sure to give the front desk your token upon checkout to get a discount. We had the breakfast - it was included - nothing special - but enough to fill you up - but yikes look at that milk jug - glad I saw it before using. The location is great! Easily walkable to everywhere and a Waitrose right next door so you can get some groceries for your room (no mini fridge though). read more

The word here is unimpressed. I burned 40,000 Hilton HHonors points for one night's stay. For some reason, this hotel is a "Category 6" property. Since there are only 7 categories, I was really expecting to be wow'ed. 7 includes such top shelf properties as the Boca Raton Resort, the Rome Cavalier and the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa. The Hilton Bath City is none of these, which would have gotten five stars. The room itself was pretty standard for an American-style hotel. Airy clean bathroom with an interesting sliding glass double-door for the shower. No tub. The toilet seat was small. The sink was a very pretty "bowl" style that looked nice and there was plenty of room for toiletries. I did have a river-view room on a high floor. Possibly this was a nod to my Silver status with Hilton. It made for a nice view of the city lights by night and very bright sunlight in the morning. I would have rated it three stars "A-OK" but a point was lost to the "double" bed, which was nothing more than two singles pushed together and a double sheet set. read more

Nice hotel right in the center of Baths. Tjai hotel was in walking distance of everything we wanted to do in Baths. They do not have a car park for you to park you car but there is one right by the hotel. Rooms were nicely furnished. read more

I can always count on Hilton to be consistent. Hilton Bath City did not disappoint. To be frank the building looks like a bit like a re-purposed government building, but the interiors are quite homey - corporate homey. A motif of browns and shades of autumn colors throughout - just the way I like it. The Roman spa, cattle market and Stall Street are just minutes' walk away. The train station just 15 minutes' hike south. read more

The hotel is located right in the middle of the attractions. You can walk everywhere. There is s supermarket practically next door. Very clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast. Appaling service. This hotel is dated, filthy, and very much lacking in service. No hot water in our room...the solution was for us to "just go to bed, and if you want a shower in the morning, we can send you to a room on a different floor". No thank you. Our room smelled, the hallway was host to a loud party and smelled of marijuana, and our window had a glorious view of the rubbish collection area, and again, no hot water to our shower. In addition, being as the restaurant was closed when we were there, brought in a light snack to eat. We were then told we were not allowed to eat outside food ANYWHERE in the hotel outside of our own room. Ok....I have never encountered this before. Forward to four hours later when we go down to get a drink before bed (since we couldn't SHOWER), only to find that not only is the bar shut at 10pm, but there were two separate parties eating McDonalds and other fast food in the lobby area with nobody bothering them about it. Horrible excuse for a Hilton. We have stayed at Premier Inn and had a more clean and hospitable experience, and mind you, that hotel handles check in by kiosk. This place needs a renovation, a staffing overhaul, or to just be taken over by a management that understands hospitality. read more

This hotel is splendidly central, within easy walking distance of everything for which you might visit Bath. As a hotel, it's pretty standard for a UK Hilton, with the low ambience and decor values you'd expect if you stay in the often. On the plus side, the hotel has recently had a refit and the rooms are newly comfortable (even if they are cookie-cutter UK Hilton rooms) although bring an extension cord if you want to plug anything in as they have put all the power sockets too close to the desktop and plug-in-power-supplies won't fit. There's a bar and restaurant, although you can do far better just by stepping outside the hotel. The parking is in the Podium shopping centre car park and as such is extortionately expensive - £21 a night - so go use the long-term parking in Charlotte Street instead, the reception staff will give you a map. Overall: Great location, not a bad hotel. read more

Don't buy the four star bullshit. The best recommendation I can make about this place is that it should be demolished. It is the ugliest building in Bath, an otherwise beautiful city. This gulag is probably the ugliest building in Britain too, and the plastic flowers in the hanging baskets outside do nothing to disguise this architectural disaster. Just for good measure, the front entrance is surrounded by parking lot ramps. The plants in the lobby are plastic too, by the way. For the length of my two night stay the front door had a large crack across it covered by duck tape which appeared to have been on it for some time. Perhaps there are no glaziers in Bath... The rooms are hideous. There's a window the size of a postage stamp. In my 250 pound King suite, there were two postage stamp size windows. Lucky me. There was a large white concrete wall where a picture window should have been... One third of the room was useless corridor. The 4 synthetic pillows were old and hard. The bed itself is a mattress on a wooden base. The beaten up furniture looks like something your uncle Fred made in his garage 15 years ago. The air in the bedroom smelled like other people's sweat. On the black velvet sofa there were DNA stains. Oh that sofa! If you're lucky, you'll get one in a "family room." But naturally it will be facing away from the TV. Just to remind you you're in England and paying a lot of money, the postage stamp window is covered with Regency striped drapes. Which match nothing. The room is well lit by a motley collection of lamps from different eras. Strangely, the bathrooms are quite handsome! Three stars there. I knocked one off because the washbasin is down around knee height. The staff is courteous and professional. But they know they are running a dump and seem embarrassed and apologetic about it. Very central location, probably the ugliest building in Bath but you don't have to look at it if you're inside it! On the river, you can use the Podium car park but this isn't included in the room price, and is a public car park. Rooms are clean, breakfast good and LOADS of scope for restuarants in Bath for eating out. Quite expensive. read more

We just checked in for two nights amid chaos. At least two tour buses disgorged at the same time. Only two receptionists. Phone ringing endlessly with no one to answer. TV does not work. Not enough pillows. Not enough towels or washcloths for three. No one answers at housekeeping, concierge, maintenance or guest services. Absolutely appalling. The only redeeming things: staff at the desk when we checked in were polite, professional, even under stress. Location superb. read more

Ah, Hilton Bath City. You rang true to the positive experiences we've had at Hilton hotels around the world. Atta boy, Conrad Hilton. Good lookin' out. My DH and I booked a quick weekend getaway to Bath to celebrate our birthdays. Everything about our stay was an absolute breeze. Upon booking, I wrote to inform them that we are staying to celebrate our birthdays. When we arrived (and breezed through the easiest check-in process, ever), we were happy to find a birthday card and tasty treats awaiting us in our room as well as a free upgrade to mark the occasion. Wow! The upgrade was fantastic - our room was spacious with great views...magnificent and much more than we expected. Our stay was flawless. The housekeeping staff made sure our room was always clean and organised, the concierge helped point things out on the free maps given to us and gave us some pointers about Bath depending on our interests and the hotel bar mixed up great cocktails on our last night, giving us the chance to relax without having to walk more than we already had (tons). The only reason I am not giving this hotel a full five star review is because the mattresses were so hard and the pillows were extremely soft and unsupportive - I came home with aches and pains from the beds and I feel they could be upgraded. All the rest of the furnishings were great. Tips: Free magazines like Cosmo and Men's Health are available for reading, two bottles of water are given to you for free per day and the parking lot the hotel has a negotiated rate with is extremely convenient. Don't eat breakfast in the hotel - there are far too many other great places to explore. Can't wait to go back - so easy to go to the city centre and come home within a reasonable time, it was extremely convenient and easy. Great find! read more

The hilton bath is a great hotel the location is great, just of the shopping centre. Its only a 10 minute walk from the station so no need to get a taxi etc.. unless you have many cases but for a short break not far at all. One thing with hilton the breakfast is really good, and the choice is best I have seen for this kind of hotel. They always do some sort of package for a 2 day breakfast and you can get a meal on first night. You eat in the same place as breakfast fast and food is of a good standard. The hotel is not all that big and was not always a hilton so they took over the old swallow and gave it a lick of paint. One of the best in the area. read more

Stayed here recently for a two day business meeting. Location is excellent and right on the river central to the city. Staff really friendly and helpful, fairly typical Hilton faire. Breakfast good, though lunch on day one was fairly average, much better on day two. View from the restaurant is great though eat evening meals close by in local restaurants as I'd normally do when staying away for business. Car parking is below the hotel in a short stay car park, residents can use this as a long stay though. Rate worked out at £21 for a day and three quarters, not too bad for the middle of a city. Lovely hotel with nice clean accommodation and great for its renowned hilton breakfasts which certainly set you up for the day. There is a car park next door to the hotel and you pay per day at the hotel reception. The staff are friendly but the drinks at the bar can be expensive. read more

I stayed here for two nights with my family for a weekend of family re-union. To be honest, when we pulled up outside, i didn't think the hotel looked like it was anything special, my opinion soon changed once we were inside! To start with though, it has a large car park underground that has plenty of spaces. The reception was beautifully decorated and very clean, the staff on reception were very friendly and gave us our room key etc. We went up to our rooms, and they were huge. There was plenty of space to walk around, plenty of space between the two single beds and plenty of space in the bathroom. The room was very clean and had a massive flatscreen tv. The sheets were changed on the first morning there and the room tidyed by the maids who did a very good job. We ate breakfast in hte restaurant which was a full buffet breakfast. There was everything you could think of, hot breakfast, toast, jams, muffins, juices and so on. The food in the restaurant in the evening was also very impressive, extremely well presented food and the staff were really friendly too. We were seated at a table which overlooked the river too which was lovely. Definately recommend stayin here and i would definately recommend eating breakfast and an evening meal here!! read more

Chose Hilton for our Bath mini-break.Staff were excellent,usual Hilton standard.We arrived early and our room wasn't ready but it was no trouble to store our bags while we did some exploring.When we got into the room we had water,pretzels,mini muffins and some other treats left for us.Brilliant!Room was very nice,well decorated with a river view.I slept like a log in the massive bed!Breakfast was,again,the usual great Hilton feast.On the Saturday it was jam-packed and the staff were obviously rather rushed off their feet so the service wasn't quite at usual standard,but no complaints per se.We ate dinner in the restaurant on Sunday and it was lovely,food delicious and service brilliant and the waterside views were very nice.Its well placed for meandering around Bath's streets and attractions. The only complaint I have is a hit of a 'my diamond shoes are too tight'one.For us this weekend was a real food fest,so we didnt plough through all our treats they left for us immediately,choosing to split it over the evenings.But we came back on Sunday to find our chocolates and little treats,all of which were packaged items rather than freshly baked,had disappeared from our room!A bit odd but hey! I loved Bath,and I hope to visit again another time and I'll be sure to make this hotel my number one choice! read more
