Twin Superior Room.
Ting A.

Narrow and cramped is what I most vividly remember about this hotel. The two elevators are so tight that only a couple people can fit inside, thus there would frequently be a long line of people. Honestly much faster to just take the stairs. We had booked a Twin Guest Room for around £150 per night, which was complimentarily upgraded to a Twin Superior Room due to Hilton Diamond membership. Out of the four floors, our room was on the second with a good view of the city. It had enough space, although the bathroom was small, not that clean, and had a severely clogged sink. The window was also left open prior to our arrival letting in a gigantic housefly that thankfully eventually left on its own. The hotel is located next to River Avon on the edge of the city. It's relatively quiet with only the audible calls of the seagulls. The breakfast buffet at Emma's Bar & Restaurant opens at 6:30 AM.

View from room - no river view rooms available.

We stayed here for a weekend get away. When we tried to book a regular room for 2 adults and 1 child, it would not allow. When I called up they said if your child sleeps in a cot then just book a room for 2 and call them to add a cot. Upon entering the room can see why, it's tiny! The king bed is 2 twin-size pushed together - so there's a crack down the center of the bed. And the beds were not comfortable. Parking is in a garage under the hotel and costs extra - make sure to give the front desk your token upon checkout to get a discount. We had the breakfast - it was included - nothing special - but enough to fill you up - but yikes look at that milk jug - glad I saw it before using. The location is great! Easily walkable to everywhere and a Waitrose right next door so you can get some groceries for your room (no mini fridge though).

Hilton Bath City

The word here is unimpressed. I burned 40,000 Hilton HHonors points for one night's stay. For some reason, this hotel is a "Category 6" property. Since there are only 7 categories, I was really expecting to be wow'ed. 7 includes such top shelf properties as the Boca Raton Resort, the Rome Cavalier and the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa. The Hilton Bath City is none of these, which would have gotten five stars. The room itself was pretty standard for an American-style hotel. Airy clean bathroom with an interesting sliding glass double-door for the shower. No tub. The toilet seat was small. The sink was a very pretty "bowl" style that looked nice and there was plenty of room for toiletries. I did have a river-view room on a high floor. Possibly this was a nod to my Silver status with Hilton. It made for a nice view of the city lights by night and very bright sunlight in the morning. I would have rated it three stars "A-OK" but a point was lost to the "double" bed, which was nothing more than two singles pushed together and a double sheet set.

The shower is beautifully tiled, but it's hard to figure out how to turn on the shower and there are no bars to hold on to. I started to stand there (since there's glass closest to the faucet control, & adjust the hot/cold control, while getting a cold shower above). 2. The bed is completely covered up so tightly like a package. I twist a nerve on my wrist, trying to un-do the comforters, so I can get inside, and it got too hot during the night, that I ended up sleeping partly outside of my covers, I guest I went too far and I also uncovered part of the fitted sheet as part of my covers, it is no wonder, MY COVERS are too heavy & thick! 3. Several of us, our rooms weren't ready when we entered the hotel, our Tour Director weren't happy about that! UPDATE: See photo. 4. The closet is heated, so while rushing out to catch the bus, I put on my heated-coat, it was giving me hot flushes as we walked down the elevator to the bus, in a sweaty-smelly cranky mood! Other than that, the lights in the bathroom, the decor, the view from our room, they're just perfect, even the chairs, the cushion, the Elle June issue, and tea selections, I just learned the proper way of drinking tea the British way, yeah! We ate here twice for breakfast & twice for dinner, the 2nd night a huge crowd and the staff were hard at work even though we could tell they were understaffed. Food were delicious! BTW: We're not very close to the beach, but there are plenty of seagulls and you could hear them, they're annoying!

Shades in the room were too small for the window, so rise and shine with the first am seagull cry! That is, if you slept at all with the beams of streetlamps coming in at all angles. Free "Roman Baths" experience - smell exactly what the ancient people did within your sleeping quarters! Free "B & B" like feel! And the B's are for: Burglary or Break-ins...because the door to the room closes at the top, but by the time you get half way down the door-wheeeee! - it doesn't meet the casing. At. All. Free chiropractic reference on enquiry at the front desk clerk - due to the slip and fall you may have if you dont ask for a rubber bath mat before entering the shower, or from craning your neck to see the late news on the TV realllllllllllllly off center on the wall away from the bed (rather than directly across, where there are curious "art pieces" hanging) or, from tripping in the night to and from the bathroom on the odd step area on one wall close to one side and the-end-of the bed. Maybe hiding pipes or cords or the smell-o-vision tubes? A mini runner-platform-stage for local comic talent? Who knows why the step is there?! Sigh. The location is GRAND. The staff are quite lovely, really. The breakfast was decent and coffee was actually nice.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in my entire life…read more First, the decor and overall vibe of this hotel is artsy, unique, chic, and somehow homey all at the same time. Second, the location and views are great. You can walk to so many good shops and restaurants, but the hotel itself is on a quiet street that has a neighborhood feel. Third, the attention to detail is immaculate. Radio set of perfect music when you arrive? Check. Antique brass keys? Check. Luggage handlers who are so polite you feel like you're a member of royalty? Check. A helpful sightseeing guide for fans of Bridgerton? Check. I really cannot emphasize enough how amazing the hotel and staff were. I arrived sweaty and covered in literal mud from a cross country hike feeling incredibly out of place in such a gorgeous hotel and the staff made me feel like I was arriving at my own home. I loved this hotel so much I wish I had extended my time in Bath specifically so I could enjoy this beautiful property for a few extra days. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING SPOT.

The staff is absolutely wonderful, the bed and linens are extremely comfortable, the room is spacious and the amenities are very nice. The location is great and the rooms are extremely quiet. First time staying at a five star hotel and while the amenities (free parking, breakfast included)…read morewere great (especially given that there is no parking in bath), the service of all the waitresses/waiters lacking. Maybe it's because most, if not all them were really young but they didn't seem to have things all together. For instance when we went outside for an afternoon tea, the waitress forgot to fold napkins for us and gave us them pretty much half way to the end of our tea. It didn't bother me but it's something I definitely noticed. At a certain point we had to seek out waitstaff to get our final plate of scones and another cup. In another instance, a member of waitstaff totally got an order wrong (asked for one cup of tea but ended up with an entire pot) but we didn't want to bother them by correcting them. It's something that can easily be corrected with better training but for a five star hotel this should not be happening constantly. As for the room, loved it and especially the bathtub in the spacious bathroom. The tv had a HDMI and USB port which was really fun. Also the spa was included in the visit which was nice to experience, though the ice room was lacking. I loved my stay and this is just me frankly being nit picky because of the hotel being five star but NONE of these things made my experience any less enjoyable or memorable. It was a super relaxing stay in bath. I would come back LOL
