We stayed here for a weekend on a promotional offer, so the value for money was amazing. The rack rate is rather more expensive, but special offers seem to be widely available.
I was impressed with the hotel from the moment we checked in. All the features of the promotion - free parking, dinner that night, etc - were confirmed right away, a booking taken for dinner, and access to the pool and gym explained. The welcome was professional and very friendly - an approach mirrored by all staff that weekend.
Our room was large, immaculate and lovely. As well as complimentary wine, mini cakes and chocolates, there were two bottles of beer. High-quality toiletries, ample towels, a good television, desk area and comfortable chairs were all provided.
Dinner was three courses, each with meat, fish and vegetarian options. The food was good, probably better than expected for this type of hotel restaurant, and service was lovely. Breakfast was buffet-style, with masses of choice from fruit and yoghurt to full English.
Guests also have use of the health club. The swimming pool is accompanied by a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. All were clean and pleasant, and towels and toiletries were provided too. There were also gym facilities, which I didn't use but which appeared to be well cared-for too.
Two small caveats: first, extras are expensive (broadband access £15; Costa coffee significantly more expensive than in Costa). Secondly, the location is great if you have a car - close to Cribbs Causeway and a short drive to Bristol city centre. However, it's not very good if you are relying on public transport or don't want to drive during your stay. read more
