The only thing, if anything, that's worth mentioning is the lack of privacy we had in the voting booths. They seemed a bit cramped, which limited the amount of privacy you had when filling out your ballots. In our city chat, that appeared to be an opinion shared across the board. Outside of that, it was an enjoyable experience and I love the cheers they paraded the first-time voters with!

I'll typically cruise through the parking lot, on my bicycle, after the post office, on my way to the library. That being said, I made a discovery. I've been aware of the eye glasses disposal box. Not sure what happens with them, hopefully something good. But the other day I noticed another box. I think it is new. This box is a "flag retirement box", and it being here is good to know. Just the other day I "rescued" a discarded flag from a trash pile (rather disrespectful), and was pondering the proper way to "retire" (new term for me) the flag properly. Now I know. Bottom line: Maybe one of these days I'll look into what else the Lion's Club does. PS. From the URL - Keller Lions Club meetings are at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. Lions come together to plan club activities and share dinner. Meetings are open to the public and visitors are always welcome.

What makes this park playground stand out among others in the surrounding area is the massive shade…read morestructure that fully covers the playground. I have seen shade canopies at other parks in North Richland Hills, but they seem to be the only city nearby to get this right. I mention the shade issue in my review of almost every single playground because it continues to baffle me. This is Texas. WHY IS SHADE NOT A TOP PRIORITY IN PLAYGROUND DESIGN? In any case, this canopy is great, and allows for play even on afternoons with high temps (bring water!). Unfortunately, the spectator benches are just outside the periphery of the shade, so unless the sun is in just the right spot, parents are either sitting in the sun or sitting on the ground. The structure itself is average. My kids tell me the best part are the two long slides that come off of a three story platform. Apparently they are very dark inside and this makes sliding down them extra fun. Beyond that, there's nothing remarkable about the play structure. Bark flooring, separate toddler structure, no swings. Richfield Park is a three star community park that earns an extra star for the shade.

I recently came to House of Shine to attend a junk journaling class. The environment was friendly,…read moreinviting and the space was beautiful. Before the class starts, one of the staff will discuss the vision behind House of Shine and ways to get involved. They have a yearly rotating exhibit with interactive activities throughout the space. Amanda the founder of DFW Junk Journaling Club was our instructor. Amanda provided information on junk journaling, showed examples through her own journals, provided supplies and answered any questions we had. The journaling classes are low cost ($10) and they have ample parking available on site. We were encouraged to bring our own supplies for junk journaling which includes receipts, stickers, pictures, cards etc. The class was casual and you could come and go as you pleased. There are meetups throughout the year for those interested in junk journaling discussed on their Instagram page or on linktree. I left the class inspired and look forward to expanding my creativity through journaling. I look forward to attending another journaling class in May.

No one cares. You could literally walk in and go to the gym or a class - they offer & no one literally gives two sh*ts. What's funny is that , they increased their monthly membership. Having no shame, this recreation center is now charging $35 for their family plan. They keep changing g their hours to fit their needs. In addition, the Roanoke recreation center lacks sanitation wipes. I'm not joking, the wipes have been empty for weeks. When you tell the kids in the front, the two boys, they just nod and go s as bout their ways. I mean, in the midst of Covid , nothing is readily available, at this center. You can't wipe anything down. The sweats on the machines snd equipment just sit on the equipment until the next person becomes a victim of catching a case. Furthermore, the place is kept without air conditioning. You could have a stroke trying to workout- in their modest gym- with a few machine operating. So good luck with your workout. This place is nasty , not kept clean. Their bathrooms and facility - in an overall demeanor, is dirty, not attended to and some of their toilets are unflushable. It's too bad they have teenagers, who are busy on their cell phone, basically, running this place down. In a nutshell, this place is hotter than hell , offers little to no working equipment and lacks in wipes. So in midst of Covid, this center is running a mock , lacking wipes - that are always empty , in their dispensary. It's like , " For the love of God, , get off your butts and off your damn cellphones and attend to this facility , that's over priced, for what they offer. It's not safe working out there anymore. So, beware.
