Ive played a handful of times before in other states and always found people to be helpful, laughing and enjoying their play. Instead i found people who were so focused they don't smile let alone laugh. I wont be going back.

I seriously can't believe that no one has written about this place. Like, seriously!…read more The Roanoke Rec center is AWESOME! You can use if for $5 a day as a non-resident if you ever feel the need to go play some b-ball, volley ball, hit up some racket ball or work out for those days you're feeling extra out of shape. Cheaper if you are a resident. They also have monthly and yearly rates as well, which are reasonable. I think the husband and I paid a little more than $50 for unlimited use of the place for one months time. This was before the wedding, so it didn't last long. We haven't been back since, but again, we're pretty lazy people. Plus he's like, underweight so I'd rather he pig out at Jack in the Box anyway. But back to the Center. They have a pool even, and lots of classes you can sign up for (kids classes too). You can even take a course to get your concealed weapons licenses, and it's a no-fail class. They work with you until pass and I believe it's only $110. Rad deal if you ask me. If you're ever in the area, I high suggest hitting this place up for some good, healthy fun and exercise. It's worth it and good for you. Who doesn't want that? And by the way, the gym is totally not crowded like most other gyms, so ladies... if you want some alone time with that treadmill or stair climber, this is the place to go.

I think you really have to think about this place before you give it a review. I admit at first i…read morewas ready to give it a low 3 star review, but then i really had to stop and see all that they had to offer. I got up earl one saturday morning to ride dirtbikes at this establishment. Friends suited up and we got after it. Quickly i found out that while the paths are laid out clearly the direction of travel is not. Even following a friend i got lost only to find myself back at the same place. A simple arrow and color system would greatly help. While i did see paper signs nothing made sense. And by far the biggest problem i had was the metal railing they had everywhere. One wrong move and you will seriously be hurt!!! Take those things out geez But not only did they offer dirt trails, but also bike, fishing boat rams, hiking and just a general place to get your nature on! After you look at the big picture and price of admission it really is pretty darn awesome. Park sucks fyi Go check this place out if you have a chance even if you are only doing one of the items listed it is pretty cool. Don't be nervous about checking out the dirt track...they do i have viewing area for people. Overall this place really is pretty good.

This is a huge acreage, beautiful park. Quiet little roads where families can go picnic, walk,…read moredrive dirt bikes, and four wheelers, etc. Unfortunately, it gets such a low rating by me because the front gate is nearly impossible to consistently get through. The credit card machine frequently doesn't work, then it would only accept exact change of a five dollar bill, which is never received well by the machine. The amount of times that my family has driven here to try and go to the park only to have to return home because we could not gain entrance. Currently there are FIVE CARS all in line at the entrance trying to get it! The drivers are all out of their vehicles and very frustrated. Also, while there are a porta potties in many places, the only proper bathroom is at the entrance. The women's room door is broken, so you really just go to the restroom with the door wide open! All that to say, this is an amazing park that needs much better maintenance.

I was super impressed with this park! There's a gate to the entrance, which is open as of right now…read more8-8pm(sunset). After the gate is closed if you need to be let out, you have to call the police. But there's so much to do here! Not just the swimming area! There's a hiking trail, playground and walking trails. Beautiful views and plenty of space to social distance yourself. The trails are available for no fee as far as I could tell, but the swimming area near WhoaZone is $5. They do not take cash, only debit/credit card. The swimming area has a playground and picnic areas. I think there's a spot to cast your kayaks off over there too, but I stayed near the beach and didn't explore anything else. I saw vehicles with kayaks going over on the other side. If you have water shoes, I'd say bring them and a beach umbrella as there's no shade. The sand isn't too uncomfortable to lie in, there's just cigarette butts here and there. But I definitely recommend visiting for the day or even camping if you're into it!

Someone recommended this to me as a "sandy beach". It is a beach, and there is some sand, but the…read moreshore is probably a 50/50 mix of packed dirt and sharp pebbles. OUCH! The rock bottom extends out a couple of yards into the water, where it turns to clay. For swimmers, the rockiness is less of an issue - get past the rocks and swim/float your heart out, but the rocks along the shore make it significantly less enjoyable for babies. Running along the shore and splashing in the shallow water is painful without water shoes. For a true SANDY BEACH, check out Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake or Little Elm on Lake Lewisville instead. Twin Points is nicer, if you're deciding between the two. Pros: it's a pretty spot, with nice views. Plenty of parking - $5 per car. CREDIT/DEBIT ONLY. There is a dock for jumping off (which we didn't notice until we were leaving, sadly!). Not very crowded on a Saturday in August. Pretty clean, other than the bathrooms. Alcohol permitted (or if not permitted, certainly not regulated). Days swimming at the lake are SO MUCH FUN! Aside from the rocky shore, the only big negative was how gross the bathrooms were. We were there pretty early, so clearly they aren't cleaned daily. Also, the whoa zone is SO EXPENSIVE!!!! It looks fun but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people pay that much to be there. It's $22 a person for ONE HOUR! Mon-Thurs they also offer a $50 all day pass. For our family of 7, I consider that cost prohibitive. Overall, it was a fun day at the lake, but Meadowmere Park is just not the best DFW has to offer.

I was so pleasantly surprised by all the equipment. First of all there is more than one pool and I have only been at the north pool. It's a lovely pool up to 5 ft, no diving, but beautiful landscape and plenty of tables and chairs and recliners. There is also a little "splash town" that I like to call it where there are these huge rings you can run through with sprinklers on you and also these water sprouts that comeup from the ground that are tons of fun for my 14 month old twin grandsons. Clean and fun. There is also a gym that seems to have the most popular equipment and they are in the process of giving it a "facelift". There is a great play area outside of the pool area and gym that is great fun for the kids. It's new and they had a grand opening and passed out refreshments and had a balloon lady and everything. I'm looking forward to the next few years being here. Great amenities and great people to be around.
