Terrible gym. Incompetent and rude staff. First time I've been kicked off a machine in 30 years of…read moreworking out in gyms across the world...literally while in the middle of my set by an employee unracking my weights and telling me to get off cause they are moving the exact machine I was currently using,.. I only had two sets left, mind you, and my sweater was on machine, I was getting ready to sit in it and use it, and the employee starts unracking my weights. I said "excuse me, I am using this and he said well we are moving it"! Never ever would this happen at 24 hour fitness or any other commercial big or small private gym. They know how to put their patrons first at those other places. IF he actually was taught to put members first, he would've let me finish the extra three minutes it would have taken me to complete my sets... never going back here. Or they could've put a sign to not use machine, like all other gyms in the world do. I have been a personal trainer all my life and never have I witnessed anything like what happened to me here today. If you're serious about your workouts and your time in the gym, don't bother with this incompetent staff that doesn't know how to put paying members first. What I experienced today is like eating at a restaurant and while you're in the middle of taking a bite of your half eaten burger, the waiter comes to your table and grabs your plate with your fries from underneath you. Who does that? LOL. But that is not the worst of it.. after the manager talks to me, the rude employee that kicked me off my machine (older man) comes over to where I am and rolls his eyes and tells me "get over it"!!! I've never been spoken to so poorly by a grown man. Shame on him for speaking to a lady that way. Zero respect, zero common sense, zero gym etiquette or know how. These people are running a joke of an establishment and their employees know nothing about serious training or why people actually go to the gym and yet they work at a gym. Canceled my family's membership and never going back to this dump.

So I had no idea that the building I go to vote in also offers a gym and hosts the parks and…read morerecreation classes that Grapevine offers. Once you look at the prices for an annual membership here (which I think is currently $35) it seems crazy that anyone would pay for a gym membership anywhere else! In the last three months I've taken a couple of different classes. I started with the crazy sounding cycleates, which was half pilates and half spin class. Turns out, I'm more into the pilates half of that equation so I've been taking pilates classes ever since. The instructor plays great music, the people are super friendly, and they provide everything you need as far as mats, weights, etc. I'm a bit of a germophobe, so I bring my own mat. The great thing is that classes are so reasonably priced! You can try out any class if you just want to stop in - I think prices for a single class range from $2 to $8, but you can find out detailed info about drop in prices on the Grapevine website. They have been super flexible with me about trying different levels and figuring out which class works best for me without charging me any extra. I'm a total cheapskate about paying for exercise classes and this is finally an option that is in my budget and doesn't make me feel like I'm being robbed blind. Is it a community center? Yes. Does it have the fancy amenities you would find at one of the chain gyms? No. So if you like working out in luxe surroundings, you probably won't be thrilled. But I'm not really too concerned with anything other than getting off my lazy ass and doing a workout that I enjoy, so this has been perfect for me!

I enjoyed how friendly the staff was in doing so. When I did join the lady that took our info and photo was very pleasant. Pretty good size place and more than a few things to offer. I enjoy the in door track the most. Have not tried the weights located down stairs, they are always being used at the time I come. I've only been here a few times and I can appreciate that it is family friendly. They are adult and child activities for those to sign up for classes. Which is a plus for me since I have two teenagers. The only thing I don't care for is when I am jogging in the indoor track parents allow their little ones to play ahead and not being watched. They get in the way of my work out. I don't know what the rules are up for this area but it would be nice for parents to keep an eye on their children running around when people as myself are trying to work out. So far so good. Ps. I understood that they will break ground for a indoor pool soon.
