After researching all the different locations on where to stay at Stratton Mountain Resort, Long Trail House seemed to be the better decision based on general location and cost. We got lucky and got a room on the 4th floor (vaulted ceilings) and a good view of the (frozen) Mills Pond square and the valley. Very cozy room!! Nice living room with rustic furniture, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, gas fireplace, cable tv and WiFi... no complaints here!!

Much to our disappointment, we had to leave & find another hotel on News Year's Eve! We were surprised to be able to find 2 accommodations for us & our friends at the Wilburton Inn. It was a God send...it was situated on a beautiful hilltop with beautiful views of the Green Mountains. It was like a compound of different villas & buildings, with very unique statues & an incredible turn of the century mansion. We were warmly greeted by the owner & his family & immediately checked in & drove to The Strawberry Inn Villa on the property Our rooms were very clean & so comfortable. We even had a common area with a living room, kitchen & dining room. So perfect because we had brought food & had planned to celebrate in our rooms & watch the ball drop in NY. New Year's Day we had a full buffet breakfast in the Mansion that was included. Their Blueberry pancakes were amazing! The Beautifully decorated rooms on the main level had a piano, sun-filled rooms, puzzles & people playing board games & a main dining room with tall glass windows with amazing views of the mountains. It was there where the magic began. As we were eating we met the owner Dr.Albert Levis, his very talented daughter Melissa, her wonderful son Max & their very friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Jetson who is the concierge! Then, the so called coincidences began...the owner had his practice in Connecticut & my girlfriend thought she knew him & sure enough 30yrs prior she was his patient. Her son was attending a college where my friend lived. So they are going to visit when she goes to visit her son. Melissa was celebrating her 50th & my friend Carol her 65th. Before you knew it other guests were relating in one way or another. It turned out to be like visiting family & Melissa said we will always be welcomed! We will be going back & look forward making more memories there.

We absolutely never expected the art installations across the grounds -- including 18 x 26-foot Egyptian statues! The art and decor were eclectic and unexpected, and I found them very intriguing. It's definitely not your traditional resort, but that's what we liked about it. And the statues made for an amazing night with smores by the fire pit! The Reunion House was spacious -- we particularly enjoyed the living room, as it gave us enough room to comfortably host the other half of our family (about 25 of us) for a casual birthday party. There was plenty of seating with cozy leather sectionals and two large dining tables that seated about 8-10 people each. My daughter loved playing the piano in the living room, and the rooms downstairs with the daybeds were a great place for the kids to hang out and watch TV together. (The galley kitchen is a little small, but we were aware of this ahead of time because it was mentioned on their website.) We were there during a massive heat wave and all the air conditioners worked very well and kept us cool. Our kids loved the volley ball/badminton area steps away from our house. The outdoor pool is beautiful and it was so wonderful to be able to gather there easily with our whole family. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed looking around the mansion as well. There was so much do to in nearby Manchester -- great restaurants and shops, the bookstore is fantastic. We also enjoyed the ropes course and alpine slide at Bromley Mountain. We can't wait to return next year -- we'll be staying at one of the other properties even closer to my extended family's rental house and I'm so excited for its private balconies, jacuzzi tubs, and even more beautiful mountain views!

This year, our friends celebrated their wedding at the Wilmington In , and the majority of guests stayed, including us. There's plenty of on-site parking and as soon as you walk in, you feel the owners' passion for the property. The decor is classic Vermont, and the common spaces have comfortable, inviting furniture. There is also a bar area where you can purchase any number of craft cocktails, which are expertly made. We stayed in the Wilmington room, which is one of the few rooms with a King bed. The room was beautifully furnished, with a nice high bed, armoire, and television. The bathroom has a beautiful jacuzzi tub and shower. The linens were fresh and comfortable. Where the owners truly shined was with hosting the event. We truly felt special during the weekend. Every evening a fire was made in the fire pit out front. The breakfast each morning was delicious. And the main common room was cleared of furniture in one day to accommodate the wedding tables. Everything looked fabulous and made for an incredible wedding. I highly recommend The Wilmington Inn, whether for a quick stay, or your special event. You will not be disappointed!

Mount Snow very close for skiing but also plenty of other activities, especially hiking, nearby. Right price for our needs-will definitely go back.

We had a small gathering and stayed in 8 rooms at the Inn at Manchester for several days. The IAM is a family owned, operated and has a warm and welcoming vibe. It is ideally located, has 3 guest houses with 21 guest rooms and soft grass grounds with birch trees, VT marble chairs and Adirondack chairs. It is far enough from the downtown yet an easy walking distance to the town and many restaurants, fly fishing, golf and hiking trails. The rooms we had were tastefully decorated and large about ~500 sqft. and the largest suite was ~700 sqft. Beds were comfortable and some had separate sitting rooms with a desk. Some of us worked a couple of days and their Wi-Fi was decent. Included breakfasts offered several choices which differed daily. Solid farm cooking that we enjoyed were French toast, homemade granola, yogurt, fresh fruits, cottage cakes, buttermilk pancakes and eggs made to order, bacon and breakfast sausages. They accommodated our dietary needs too. The Morning coffee (VT Mtn) and tea station is set up early in the morning and throughout the breakfast hours. We also had an event on their covered Celebration Barn patio with a fire pit. The innkeepers provided a name of a local caterer which worked out well. The event setup person was on schedule and he even stayed later to re-setup after an untimely rain. The caterer did an exceptional job and everyone loved the food! The fire pit was great to hang out at to enjoy the NE evenings. Price is reasonable given their location, service level and the quality of the Inn. The service at the Inn at Manchester is fabulous! The Innkeeper, Gabriela and GM, Todd were exceptional, warm and super helpful! They know the area well and though I've visited Manchester many times prior, Gabriela's hiking trail recommendation was spot on. Parking is a private lot and is free. While this inn is bigger than the many family run lodgings, the intimate small NE vibe is apparent! We chose IAM over better known nearby hotels as this inn isn't stodgy. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Manchester due to the wonderfully kind Gabriel and Todd!

I arrived later in the evening and was greeted by the most friendly and professional team. After checking in they provided a full tour of the Inn and left me to enjoy this amazing place. The breakfast was a delightful start to my day, with the eggs, sausage, and buttermilk pancakes being absolutely scrumptious. The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee further enhanced the experience, setting the perfect tone for our day of relaxation and exploration. The historical estate exuded old-world charm, complete with wood-burning fireplaces that added warmth and character to the atmosphere. The comforting scent of applewood burning made our stay even more enjoyable, and the Cinnamon suite provided a cozy and inviting space for us to unwind. As I woke up to a light snowfall, the morning revealed the true essence of country life, capturing a serene and picturesque scene that truly added to the charm of our stay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful and unforgettable getaway. I truly hope this review captures the essence of your wonderful time at The Inn at Manchester. The only thing better than the breakfasts were the hosts themselves. Just the nicest couple you'd ever want to meet. They made themselves available for anything we needed. Donna gave us dinner recommendations and would include printed directions to the restaurants. She is so knowledgeable about all there is to do in the area. Clifford was so kind and accommodating as well. We arrived on motorcycle and he insisted on us keeping it in his garage. He also offered us his rain gear upon our departure because it was drizzling. He even followed up with us after to make sure we had arrived home safely. So in short. Beautiful accommodations. Great views. Amazing breakfast. Kind and helpful hosts. You really couldn't ask for more. I'll be staying here again for sure.

We knew we needed a place for 150 people and we knew we wanted it to be drivable for both family and friends in upstate New York and Boston.   We stumbled upon The Lake House Guest Cottages of the Berkshires after months of searching, but the only wedding we had seen hosted there was inside the main cottage. Reluctantly, we decided it was probably too small for us.   Fast forward another month.  Randomly one night, my wife and I both separately pulled up the venue again and I said, "We need to just call them. Maybe they have some grass we can put a tent on." After a couple of email exchanges, Eric, the owner, and Cory, the grounds keeper, invited us out to see the space and were instantly sold. The beautiful grounds, the stunning cottages (or as we like to call them, "mini mansions"), THE VIEW.   Not only did they have four cottages on site where guests could stay, but they also had a field where they had placed a tent for previous weddings that could hold up to 150 guests. We soon found out that over the winter months they would be adding three additional cottages for guests to stay and a seasonal tent to be used for weddings throughout the summer and fall. Needless to say, we booked it.   A couple months into planning, LHGC added a wedding coordinator to their awesome team.  We connected with Kelsey instantly, discussing plans we had made and things we had coming down the line. She was always available if we had a question or concern. Come time to do our walk through before the wedding, we laid out the entire day with the help of Kelsey and our caterer.  We walked away knowing we had the dream team on board.   When our weekend approached, all the new additions were complete and the space was more beautiful than ever. We had our rehearsal brunch Friday morning and welcome party Friday night, both of which allowed for the caterers to take full advantage of the catering kitchen in the main cottage. Kelsey and Cory were completely accommodating and there from start to finish to help with anything we needed.   Our guests arrived sporadically from Friday morning through the evening and spent time playing lawn games, kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake, and enjoying each other's company.  It was so nice to have the entire grounds at our disposal.   On our wedding day, it was just the same. Everything went off seamlessly. Kelsey and Cory were both there if something came up, made sure that set up was perfect, ran the ceremony and reception smoothly and effortlessly.   Our wedding was perfect. It was everything we could have dreamed it to be and more.   Thank you, LHGC, for welcoming us to the family!  We look forward to spending many anniversaries with you on Pontoosuc Lake!
