Right off I had a wonderful time with the people I went with. We played a few different courses and was not rushed at all. Our guide was very much only 14 - 15yrs old but he was good. I would do this again the experiences was a goodazztime!!! The registration part was ok but the space isn't big so you can't have too many folks inside or it gets crazy. However #1 issue is the rental equipment was not cleaned. Like the vest smell nasty for real. If they do wash those items then the musty armpit smell is embedded into the fibers Also I got a rash from the helmet see pic. #2 unsupervised youth....there was a group of boys about 10/12 years old that was acting like wild animals. Now I really don't have a problem if your parenting style is f' it but they have guns!?!? We were in a safe zone and of course they were shooting around people who didn't have helmet on. It wasn't until our guide said something that they stopped. Mind you the parents/chaperones were right there not caring?!?! Smh. Large young group should have 2 guides. read more

My husband and children decided to go on a paintball outing with other friends over the Christmas holiday in 2022. The facilities were fine, though The random family that played against my family did not adhere to the rules and would not step out when they were out. I suppose that's not the fault of Long Live Paintball. The reason for the low rating is their handling of my husband's drivers license. Since he was not driving on the day of the visit, he did not realize that the employee did not return his license to him when he returned the equipment. When we realized it a couple of weeks later, we called and the staff confirmed with the owner that they had the license . We live in NYC over 90 minutes away and do not own a car, so we agreed we could wait for the owner to mail it at the end of the month (January). Mind you, someone could have contacted us in December already or mailed it to us since they had all our contact information on file for the paintball session. So we waited till the end of January and nothing arrived. I called Long Live Paintball again and spoke to a nice guy, Anthony, who promised he would look into this and then confirmed the owner still had the license and would mail it out on the following Monday. I explained we were going on a trip in February and would need the license to rent a car. The day of the supposed mailing came and went, but nothing arrived that week. I then called and spoke to a nice gentleman, Richie, who said he spoke to the owner who indicated he had already mailed it out the week before. Well, it's now March and nothing ever came. I don't know what kind of business owner is so careless with his customers when his own employees do not return a customer's license. Were we also to blame for not realizing it? Of course, but mistakes happen and this could easily have been resolved if the owner had just exercised proper care and sent the license out using proper channels. He could have charged us $15 to send it certified. As a result, we could not rent a car for our vacation since the rental agency overseas would not accept a temporary license. read more

**Review from a mom's (not a participant) perspective. I had my teenage son's birthday here, even though I had never seen the place previously. He had gone to a friend's birthday and wanted to have the same kind. *I opted to have a private party (you have to guarantee 10 people for this option)so that our young group wouldn't get obliterated by "professional" paint Ballers. The protective equipment provided includes a chest protector, ammo belt, & facemask * I opted to have the party on a weekday to avoid crowds. * I ended up having to buy several pairs of gloves ($10 each @ the place) since several of the teens forgot them. I assumed that getting shot in the hands would really hurt! * we ordered pizza through LLP's pizzeria of choice, which had a small markup cost as is usually the case. Allergy folks-Be aware that the crust from this pizza place has sesame seeds on it, which I didn't know in advance. * we requested the larger paintballs so that the impact would hurt less. The bottom line is that the place is situated on a big field. It had rained for several days before our event, so the ground was super muddy (wish I had thought of that before I wore open sandals there) everywhere you sit is covered in paint so even if you are not participating, wear clothes you don't care about. Bring lots of beverages because your group will be very thirsty from running around & the heat. Although if you run out-the place sells drinks for reasonable prices. The referee we were assigned was very chill and gave the boys breaks to drink water. He took them on all the various courses which they loved. My son/birthday boy had a great time and so did the other (16 yo)participants. My 22yo son & 24 yo guest also had a blast! This is definitely not a cheap option to have a birthday party. Ice-skating/bowling, etc.are definitely cheaper. But 16-year-old boys definitely prefer to shoot their friends with paintballs. ** apparently there is an entire hardcore Paintball Community that exists. Another (adult) group that was there while we were there had high tech equipment - high powered rifles, with modifications on them. Better equipment to protect themselves. Different types of ammo that apparently are smaller/faster & hurt way more. If you are not a "frequent flyer" and end up playing against groups, like these, you should definitely request to be with amateurs, or you will be slaughtered. Lol Also, understand that, no matter who you play with, you're leaving with some welts & shots to the skull. read more

Came here in a group of 12. This place was very crowded! We got everything ready in time but the equipment wasn't great. On average we kind of having a sticker gun that needs to be replaced per person. It took us two and a half hours to play just four rounds of games cause most of our time were spent on waiting and filing up the gases. The price was not cheap as we got lots of extra buys of bullets. The area was extremely muddy and it smelled bad. Our instructor was nice and the game was fun. Very professional staff, great rates, fun fields, good for groups. First time here with a group of 19 guys for a church outing. We played in a private group and had a great ref (Mike) throughout the whole day. Staff is friendly and very professional. There's about 5 or more fields, all outdoors. A bunch of picnic tables for you to place your belongings. There are snacks and drinks for sale, but if you can, I'd bring your own lunch to save some money. Balls are well-priced at $20 per 500, or $55 for 2,000. Bathrooms are porta-potties. Overall, great for groups (call in to set up rates). I suggest a private field if you have a large party. People are friendly, accommodating, and overall, it will be a pleasant experience. Definitely coming back sometime! read more

Long Live Paintball has some great staff and very fun play fields. I came here recently to celebrate my birthday and enjoyed every minute of it. Their rates are inexpensive, paintball prices are decent and equipment options good. The only thing that I didn't like is that there was a lot of downtime between rounds, but that can be attributed to the large groups and limited staff. Today we went to people for my husband's birthday as always this place lives up to its great reputation. Our referee was Frankie he was very efficient at his job. Frankie was conscientious and made sure everyone had all their equipment. He went over all the safety rules and made everyone Frankie made sure that we played on all the fields. Went here as part of a group. I did not set it up so I cannot really comment on the set up and sign in procedures. With that said... It was my first paintball experience so everything was new to me. Orientation was quick but the rental equipment left a lot to be desired. It was still wet from being washed and the velcro to hold the vest they gave me in place was basically dead to the world. The rental guns worked most of the time but I did find myself shaking it a lot to get the next set of rounds going through -- I have no idea if this is "normal" for paintball. The courses did offer a lot of variety and it was a joy to have had the organizer for our group pay for private time. Per his comments he came during the summer when the place was a zoo and you were randomly placed on teams of 15 or so. That, I guess, would be okay if everyone followed the rules but he said the problem was with that many people running around people were getting hit and the refs were not calling them out. That turns the whole experience into a different game I would pass on. In summary it seems like a great place to go if you have experience. The people in the one field at the entrance obviously do this often! For me, a first timer, it was interesting but not as smooth a process as I would have imagined. What I will add as a final point is that our organizer said he tried a place or two closer to where we lived but this one was much better. read more

Here's my first and long take on this paintball establishment from a recreational player's point of view. They open quite early at 9am on Saturday and can play until 4pm. I believe they sell half day and full day admissions. The parking lot (dirt road) seems somewhat small, allowing maybe 20 vehicles. They actually directed late day arrivals to park in the grass field beyond the short Christmas tree and bush that seem separate from their property. Because I don't have my own gear, I decided to rent their Gold Package for $60. This includes: admission, gun, mask, tank, 2 paintball tubes with holster, & 500 paintballs. What surprised me was that they didn't rent out camo's (jumpsuits). They do have vest for $5 in case you arrive their with bare protection or if like me, wearing a bright white shirt that screamed "EASY TARGET!!" Because they only have 5 fields to play on, walking distance was short; whether from parking to the shop to the rest area (air also), to the practice range, or any of the fields. The fields included one speedball (air filled balloon barriers/walls), 3 relatively short fields (end to end), and one large field called the woods. Crowds definitely pick up after 12pm, probably because of the half day admission pricing. We ran into the issue of not being able to round up enough players to go on the fields beside speedball to get a group of 8 on 8 or more going. This was partially due to people coming in their respective group of friends, groups taking breathers, and low population. Overall, the staff here were nice and friendly and willing to help get games going constantly. The Refs were compliant, willing, and accessible to to call games, call outs, and even ref with 2 vs. 2. No real bathrooms here (at least that I know), just one porta potty I saw and used. They do sell drinks in the shop and by the air station in a cooler, but be warned the prices are a premium. Overall, I had a good time here. Especially when I don't have to walk long distances to retrieve something from the car or walk a ways to get air to refill my tank. In other words, everything is centrally situated. P.S. They can definitely use a taller/bigger sign alerting vehicles to be easier to spot them from the road (this could be a municipality rule though). read more

I had the pleasure of traveling (way way out) to Long Live Paintball. I was invited to a paintball party (step 1) as there were 10 of us. Did I say it was far... lol... anyways on to my review. The establishment is hidden (and should be), but once you're there you see all the paintball(res) and in gear ready to do battle. We finally were given gear (helmet/gun/ammo) and waited about 20 additional minutes past our time to play. No worries, things come in moderation. Once we were given instructions, off we all went and it was time to paint some behinds yellow.... The handlers were like kids but had total control of the place. One of the parents had their kids, and he kept taking his safety off -- stay clear of my head bro... but all in all it was okay he finally learned SAFETY ON. The gear you're given may need to have spray or some sort of cleaner (picky..yes) just giving them a heads up. The gun(s) worked properly and the course I played was definitely in the boonies. So it should be. I won't go into too much detail of our round but one recommendation is get a bit more under control with the time. Had a blast overall. I was a groupon buyer and I had to pay 100 bucks for a box of paintballs, where the regular customers only paid 60!! And not only that!! We had a mixture of rude and helpful service there. The prices are ok. Since there were 10 of us. I had the worst gun, the paintball holder would not seal up! WTF. I kept losing paintballs. Wasn't just me. Two others followed the same problem! I finally got another gun, PERFECTLY harden seal up. Then I had problems opening the canister. LOL. Oh wells. Better than losing the paintball. My ref didn't want to help me get a new gun. He told me hold it a certain way. Cmon.. I am spending good money.. and the gun is wasting dozens of my paintballs by spilling out. Not just me, but two others than had the same problem out of us 10. The other people thought the 3 of us were not sealing our guns. Dammit! You try sealing it! They refuse to trade guns with me. Just a quick review of LLP on Englishtown Road in Old Bridge NJ. My kids and I are not long to the sport, having just started a few months ago. LLP was the first place we played. The owners Tom and Jim are stand up guys, always ready and willing to help with tech or advice. The refs are a mix of kids and experienced players, but they are mostly attentive and willing to listen without prejudice. The facilities are small, with a relatively tiny woodsball field, regulation sized speedball arena, and a general purpose scenario are that can be resized from 1 large to 4 small fields with each having a different barrier theme. The prices are reasonable, with 12 month memberships available which cover the entry and provide a discount on pro shop purchases. It is a field paint only establishment, as are most I've seen, with prices ranging from $60 and up at regular price, with discounts for members and on special event days. Also, during the summer they are running a Thursday special of free entry and $45 a case and Friday is 10/10/10 with $10 each for entry, 500 count bags of paint and rentals for those who need. I have had several long conversations with Tom and Jim regarding gear etc, and they are always willing to listen and give advice based on the players skill level and playing characteristics. On a scale of 1-10, I would give LLP an 8.5, only because of the lack of size and the lack of women friendly facilities for my girls. Service was great, Staff are chill and friendly, fields are decent to play on and have great cover, great game modes, I had a hell of a time so not a lot of complaints here. BUT, while I was there it seems the only place to wash your hands were these containers, no soap either. Be warned if you're a germaphobe. Also, if you have a car, you may want to park as far from the field as possible; a paintball hit my friend's windshield while we were there. The guys in the family came here on 7/23/2016 for some fun away from the ladyfolk. It was humid, sunny and in the mid 90's by the time we got to the place. We expected a little misery just from the weather. To take the edge off, the young lady at the counter was friendly and more importantly, competent, as she helped set us up with our markers, masks, paintballs and coveralls. She was able to keep track the 8 people in my group as well other people that were walking in. The guy that gave us the safety rundown(muscular dude in a tank top-can't remember his name) had a good attitude that put us at ease. In general, the refs and the kids working the different equipment stations were very polite and conscientious about what they were doing. One ref that led us out into the wooded area for our first session had a bad attitude, but I chalked that up to him being a teenager. The fields were decently sized with intelligently placed barriers that varied in size in shape to keep things interesting. No complaints there. We purchased private sessions so we could with play only the people in our group. No hassles. Our assigned ref, Jarod(sp?) was super chill. Kept things light and conversational. Gave us tips and helped with different game types. It was very apparent that he was totally into paintball and was eager to share his enthusiasm with us. Although he was very mindful of the house safety rules, his main objective was to make sure we had fun. Mission accomplished! Great job, Jarod! By the end of our time there, we were exhausted, battered, definitely bruised, and probably dehydrated. But we were planning on our next paintball outing before we even piled into the car. read more

Came here with some coworkers today for some improvised team-building. It was a great experience. All the employees at were super friendly and helpful. I appreciated that their fridge was well stocked with cold drinks since the temperature today went well into the 90's. Their prices are affordable and we received a free upgrade on our guns since it was our first time For being such a small space, their courses are laid out really well (but just a heads up, course 1 is a little hard if you're over 6 feet. They can easily see you even if you're crouched!) Its a great place when you don't want to commit to the giant adventure it is to get to Skirmish. This is for the first-time paintballers only: I purchased tickets off of Groupon which was 12 for $55. The package included goggles, referee orientation, goggles, chest protector and ammo packs. The Goggles were straight up trash, there was dirt still in them, and basically your field of view is comparable to glasses that are fogged up, scratched and uncleanable. So basically, its already hard for you to shoot. The guns were fine, they did jam but all you did was shake the gun and you were fine. The fields were ok as well. The referees also were very courteous. My suggestion for first time people in a group is to make a reservation, because they will pair you with try hards that know what they are doing that get a kick out of people that don't know how to play. So ill sum out the pros and cons Pros: Courteous referees, somewhat nice staff, and reasonable rates (Groupon). The fields actually were not too bad, but the goggles ruin it. Cons: The rental goggles were terrible, (if you can't see you can't shoot as well), getting paired with try hards, and no good bathrooms nearby. Overall, if you don't want to get shot by your own teamates or by the enemy point blank, i suggest going with a private party. The owners and manager (adults) were great and processed us through checkout quickly and easily. The referees (teenagers and young adults) were horrible. They didn't know how to manage paintball players and clearly didn't care about the job they were doing. My referee said to me "I don't give a sh*t about this job; it's just cash under-the-table for me." I had to complain to the manager (an adult) to get the referee off his lazy ass and do his job. "I have only one rule. everyone fights, no one quits. you don't do your job...I'll shoot you myself." few things reinforce the bonds of friendship as engaging in wargames, getting coated in an appetizing mix of paint/sweat/dirt, and living out your favorite action movies. Long Live Paintball (formerly Fireball Mountain) is a great venue for all this. let's get straight to the important thing: the killing fields. there are only a handful of them here; I kind of wished there were more. on the other hand, they are the perfect size for smaller groups. the grounds are maintained pretty well and I think the obstacles/terrain are set up fairly. my favorite was the one with a ton of little shacks/cabins. apparently there is one in the woods but you need to be in a large group for that. staff are friendly and very helpful here. refs do a great job within the game itself, as well as making sure different groups rotate battlefields. minimal walk/wait time. reservations are encouraged. pricing-wise, the rates listed on the website aren't too bad. one of my friends had purchased a Zozi (like LivingSocial, Groupon, etc) deal for 10 people to shoot for $150. this included all-day access, mask, gun, unlimited air refills, and a box of 2000 paintballs for the group. we also split some extra ammo boxes. keep an eye out for these deals, they pop up every so often. for an extra $100, you can shoot within just your own private party (that's $100 for the group total). I highly recommend springing for it, as it's much more gratifying to be shooting your friends when all of you are graduates from the Stormtrooper School of Poor Paintball Marksmanship. let the professionals in their own expensive gear play on their own field; we're just here for casual play! for $10 you can rent a camo suit. this is more useful for absorbing the sting of paintballs versus actually hiding your ass. they have a snack cart but you can also bring your own. my advice: just bring a giant container of water, because you will sweat A LOT. there is a porta-potty on the premises, helpful, because after drinking 3 liters of water, you will feel a powerful urge to pee. read more

I had a good experience at LLP but wanted to provide a thorough review as I felt that while there were many positive aspects at LLP, there is much room for improvement. As a preface to the review, I have been playing paintball for about ten years and have some tournament experience but now just play recreationally. The check in process is my biggest complaint. I went with a good friend on Saturday, April 19th and arrived at 10:30. Upon arrival there was a line of about 20-30 people or so, all waiting to check in for the day. My friend and I waited in that line until 11:45 just to pay our entry fee and purchase paint. While we did not have a reservation, It was pretty inefficient to have us wait for over an hour on a beautiful day for what amounted to just handing in our waiver and swiping our credit card. This problem could have been easily remedied by having one of the several refs who were standing around out front or by the staging area come into the office and assist in the transactions. Alternatively, people like myself who had brought their own equipment could have either been processed ahead of the rentals, which I assume needed to fill out additional paperwork or receive information about the equipment, or processed in a separate line. This is such an easy fix that I would like to see done. The referees were overall pretty good, but could also use some improvement. They were friendly, helpful, and enforced safety. However, most games they spent with their butts against the netting instead of actively checking people. It doesn't have to be be pro paintball to have the refs actually ref the game and do paint checks actively. Additionally, the wait time between games was a little long. Also, the players in our group were very mismatched. Their seemed to be about 70 or 80 people their that day but somehow we were stuck in a group with several 12-year-olds. The fields were overall very good. I got to play on each of the three fields that are to the left of the staging area and enjoyed each one. However, the woods field needs a little work. We played a large game with everyone at the end of the day in an attack/defend the castle match. I was on the attacking team and despite our best efforts couldn't come close to the castle which is up a slope or hill. I think this field could easily become an excellent field if their were more bunkers staggered going down the hill. Without more bunkers, there is a large gap between the hilltop where the defenders are comfortably positioned and where the attackers are coming from. I hope to see this worked on. Additionally, My friend and I were hoping to play on the air ball field but found out it was only by reservation with a team. This is very unfortunate for players like us who can play competitively, and have played so previously, but no longer play on a team or in tournaments. I assume that keeping the speedball field for teams is a big way to bring in money for LLP but perhaps they should look to purchase and set up and additional PSP style air ball field for walk-ons to play. I felt like the field catered to either professional tournament players or first time walk ons primarily and that seasoned recreational players like myself were a bit neglected. The prices were also pretty good. However, the first case I bought was Draxxus and the paint had many warped or misshapen paintballs which gave me some breaks. The second case, a different brand I don't remember, was better. My biggest complaint about pricing didn't affect me, but the two people in front us who used a group on. They were told they had to pay 100 a case instead of 60 because they used a group on. Once you factor this in the people who use the group on aren't really savings anything and, in fact, might be paying more, though I am not sure. Regardless, I bought their paint for them so they didn't have to pay nearly double. This practice should be changed as it is unfair and also possibly not in accordance with Groupon practices. I would like to go back to LLP as overall I had a good time. I just left thinking so many little things could be amended to make this place one of the best paintball fields around.
