The fish and chips served on fake newspaper (i know but that is how they do it in the UK, although there you get actual newsprint). The batter for the fish was amazing. The fish was perfect. Overall it was able to hold up being torn into pieces and dipped. My reaction to the place (besides the simply amazing reality that was Morgans, so many cool places all together) was perfect. The coleslaw was good and it was a great experience (oh and they send out a bottle of malt-vinegar and a lemon wedge with your order)! Now we have to come back to Raleigh. The meal was perfectly fine, but nothing particularly stood out as spectacular. It's solid pub fare if you're looking for a casual bite. Overall, McCoul's is a decent spot for a strong drink and a cozy, dim atmosphere. I'd love to see a bit more attentiveness on the floor, but it's still a place worth stopping by if you're in downtown Greensboro.
