Our ticket showed the name Cindy. If she was the one who greeted us at the drive-thru to complete our two orders, then 10 stars for her!! Whoever it was that day provided excellent customer service and made us feel valued as a customer. We love LJS and don't have many in the area, so this is one of the locations we drive over to when we are craving fish -n- chips. I found myself in a part of Richardson. I've never been to before I needed something quick to eat. I didn't even know Long John Silver's was still around. For a nostalgic purposes, I decided to go through the drive-thru to see if anything had changed. I have the fish and chicken platter, and I don't remember the chicken ever being this good. Everything else tasted exactly how I remembered it from 45 years ago, even the hush puppies. I have to comment on the friendly ladies working in the drive-thru. It's always nice to be greeted by cheerful people when ordering food, they genuinely made my day a little brighter. This was quite literally the absolute worst thing I have tried to eat in a VERY long time. Now... before yall come at me with the "well, what did you expect?", I have literally been working for two weeks straight and to top it off, I worked from 9am-8:30pm and just wanted something familiar to me. I have been a fan of LJS since I was a kid. People talked trash about it but I have ALWAYS been a fan because of how often I ate there in high school. It's been quite a while since I've eaten there. However, whatever the hell was delivered to me tonight (yes, I paid for delivery- trust me- I'm just as confused as to why.. oh, because I'm exhausted) was DISGUSTING!! I wondered why my dogs were circling my table more than normal... well, it's because literally all of my food (with the batter ripped off) went to them. The chicken... dog food deep fried. The hush puppies... just cake batter fried. Not even a side of tartar sauce to mask the flavor. The crispy bits that come with the meals... rock hard. The cheese bites... solidified in the 5 minutes it took for my order to get to me. And now... the shrimp... literally fish food deep fried. I took one bite and spit it out because I'm not trying to be popping my brains out on my (hopefully) day off tomorrow. Absolutely deplorable. I have always been a fan of Long John Silver's since I was a little kid. I have seen several locations come and go, and a few that have weathered the stormy seas and survived. This particular location is one of those, it has survived a long time! The ambiance over the years has changed inside a few times. The original look was reminiscent of the inside of a pirate shrimp. Now it has lightened up a lot and is kind of New England Beach vibe if you will. I ordered the Fish, Chicken, and Shrimp Platter. It came with two sides, which I chose Waffle Fries and Cole Slaw. It also came with 2 Hush Puppies. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious! Honestly, the platter was more food than I could eat, but that is not a complaint, it is a testament to the value and amount of food they give you here. I was also impressed by the staff at this location. They were professional and pleasant and cared. I observed them not only with my own transaction, but with the transactions of others who came in while I was enjoying my meal. It is hard for me to justify 5 star reviews, but I will certainly give credit where credit is due, and this was definitely a 5-star experience! read more

I love long John silvers with that being said was extremely disappointed when I went to the one in Richardson. Had I used the restroom prior to ordering I would have just left. The restroom was disgusting not a clean counter, sink or toilet. The top of the toilet paper holder had so much dust I looked like it hade not be cleaned in a year. The fish was like rubber, cooked in old oil, the fries also tasted awful. I over heard the 3 ladies next to me also complaining about the food. The place needs a good cleaning and definitely the fryers with some new fresh oil. I won't be visiting this place again and can't not recommend. read more

Today was a very disappointing day for lunch. After spending almost $15.00 on lunch. I literally could have eaten at upscale restaurant. The fish was cold and hard. The chicken looked like nuggets, and the cole slaw was watered down. I ate it cause it was to much money to throw away. But to be honest it was not good at all. I have been there many of times and its really a hit or miss kind of establishment. But I think today was the last straw. LJS is totally incompetent at online orders. I'm sitting here waiting to pick up my small order which should have been ready 23 minutes ago, but the store is out of tortillas so they couldn't make fish tacos and couldn't figure out how to call the phone order which I provided when ordering, so they made nothing (not even the fish sandwich). They're going to be giving me 2 bare fish instead of 2 fish tacos, so I'm being shorted some carbs and they refused to throw in a few fries to make it up to me. I asked them nicely, and they flat out said no. How do I even know they're really out of tortillas? Manager could be stealing tortillas from customers like me, and he doesn't want to give out some fries because it might draw attention which would get him caught. Today was the second time I was shorted on shrimp! The other day my 8-piece shrimp meal had 7 shrimp, NOT the 8 as advertised. Today, I picked up my order at the drive-thru and my shrimp meal had 6 shrimp, NOT the 8 it should have had! I even said as she handed me my bag, "Did you count them right? Last time I got shorted a shrimp.". She said yes, the girl opened every box and counted them. I took their word for it and what do you know, I get home and my meal is missing 2 shrimp. Came in after mass for Ash Wednesday. Instantly hearing the staff (I'm assuming the lead or manager) yelling back to cooks the orders, I mean so loud you can't even think to place your own order! But the last two times I ordered thru the app I didn't receive what I paid for, I bought a fish and shrimp platter that come with two sides and because I HATE the new waffle fries I ordered two cole slaws. I didn't get but one on this visit and the last visit. If you work there you should know that a platter comes with two sides. Now let's talk about me never getting tartar sauce when I specifically ask for it. So my solution is to go to a different LJS and see if I can get better service, if not, bye bye LJS read more

They came up to me to inform me that they gave my order to someone else and looked me in the face and cursed at me (F bombs). The people working here look homeless. I think my first meal at LJS was nearly 50 years ago. A lot has changed since then. I used to eat here regularly, but this was my first visit in 2-3 years. I got my usual 'Fish and More' meal with fries and coleslaw. The fish and hushpuppies were good, but the fish pieces seemed smaller to me. The fries weren't very crisp, so I only ate half of them. I always eat the slaw last because it's my favorite slaw and it tastes so clean and refreshing after all the fried food and malt vinegar. My only complaint involves the current pricing. I spent $10 and only had water to drink. This seems like too much for fast food. I can spend less and get fresh-cooked food in a real sit-down restaurant. The service was fast and the dining room was clean and pleasant, but think the same meal cost half as much just a couple years ago. read more

I'm not digging almost 5 miles for 6 shrimp. It's almost 5 miles back to the store; car gets 18mpg round trip it's 10 miles already did that once so burn another 1/ gallon of gas plus rush hour traffic for 6 shrimp. I came in the store and they told us we should have called and speak to the manager. But I told them we called several times and hung up on us. The Long John Silver's location on Belt Line in Richardson has been here for years from what I can tell and maybe even decades. I never see many people actually dine here but they are good for your quick fix of that Long John Silver's taste you remember as a kid. The food usually tastes good if you don't mind lots of carbs, starch and fried food. I normally like to get a piece of fish, shrimp, clams, hushpuppies and cole slaw for a meal and it never disappoints. Very rarely do they mess up an order and if they do they are more than happy to offer an extra side or piece of fish as an apology for the mistake. It would be great if someday they offered lobster rolls. I would visit every other day if they got some lobster or even some fresh crabmeat sandwiches on their menu. We seriously lack some fresh lobster and crabmeat in this area. read more

However, I've attempted to go there twice in the last month, and no one will pick up the com to take an order, nor is anyone minding the counter when you drive around.
