HORRIBLE! We just spent 14 bucks for food we had to throw in the trash. We could not eat it. The place is nasty. We will not be back.

When we arrived we were immediately seated at a table, she took our drink order and brought it to. My wife ordered the senior Cajun catfish plate and ordered the regular catfish plate. The plate comes with fries and hush puppies and three strips of catfish. With that you can also go to the salad bar. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and the other toppings were O K and there were lots of choices but the pinto beans were amazing. The food was brought out while I was working on my first bowl of beans. The portions were generous and fresh cooked. The fries were thin cut so I knew they would get cold quickly but they were hot when they served them to me. The catfish was definitely fresh cooked and very hot. As I said, I had a bowl of beans and we also had a salad bowl from the bar. Our wait person was Alyn. She was great. Fast service, very friendly. Took time to explain to first time customers what was offered like free drinks on the senior plates. We will going back to this restaurant regularly. I understand about fresh cooked food as I was a manager for Wendy's for 32 years. Their prices are very modest especially the Sr. Plates that are $9.99 for lunch.

Friendly helpful staff, roomy sea worthy dining I ordered the recommended scrimp combo in mild sauce potatoes sausage it all comes together in a plastic bag. Your provided a 12" metal pan, gloves a bib and lot of napkins that you'll need. You dump everything from your bag into your pan and go to work. The sauce is special, full of flavors spices and some heat it's really outstanding. I had sweet tea for the first time it was addicting. Pier 18 staff was very accommodating we were there 4 hours lots of laughs The girls ordered scrimp, chicken and vegetable bowls that were very generous they couldn't finish. The menu covers everything crab, lobster, oysters, calamari, shrimp, fish, chicken wings &, beef. Pier 18 is a destination check them out.

I know it's busier and Friday night but geez, the table we sat at or the chairs we sat on were dirty like covered in some kind of sauce. It got on my jacket and my girlfriend's clothes, no sincere apology they just switched a chair but didn't look like they cleaned it. Had to wait until the end of dinner for part of our order even if we politely asked 3 different workers if we're going to get the rest of our food. This is after 3 other tables got all of their food before we did and were seated after us. Guess if we ever come back here we need to be early or just lunch time. Also, don't get the hibachi beef, it's mostly stir fried vegetables on top of rice with some tossed salad on half the plate. Doesn't taste that good either, but the fried calamari was delicious and served with fries. The gumbo soup was ok but I think I'll just stick with the seafood boil or fried appetizers. They do open up the back dining area when it's busy.

Went here with for a company dinner. It was okay…read more Cheesesticks were a win for appetizers, large portions & plenty on each serving that came out. The cesar salad was overly drenched in dressing, the dressing is good but it was a just alot. We do appreciate that there are alternative options offered not within the menu we had set, I think someone mentioned there was an alfredo & maybe another fish such as salmon? I can't remember all the reasons why we asked but I know one reason was because they said they could not cater to the individual steak preferences in large groups, made sense in an efficiency way when they explained it. What they didn't tell us after some chose not order steak for that very reason, was that after anyone who ordered steak & cut into it, they could back to cook it longer based on each individual's preference. I'm allergic to shrimp, I ordered the steak with vegetables. I did inform the waiter that I had a shrimp allergy, he was gracious & asked me a few questions to help better address my food preparation. A few minutes later another staff member, maybe a manager, comes in & thanks us for choosing there restaurant. Then he asks who has the allergy & asks the same questions the waiter asked me. It just put me on the spotlight that I (nor several of my coworkers) felt was necessary. It wasn't embarrassing but more annoying seeing how our waiter had been thorough, or come to me one on one just to reconfirm if needed. I felt bad for my coworkers because they now had genuine concern I might be exposed to something since many had shrimp dishes. I will say that I did enjoy the steak & asparagus. Dessert was delicious, a great creme brulee & the cheesecake slices were generous! Also, there were larger amounts of time between when the first person got their salad or soup to when the last person received theirs, same situation with the entrées. In both phases they basically asked who was missing what & then asked what they had. Refills & drinks, the same. Maybe they were short handed but if they were, we wished they would've communicated that so we could anticipate any timing issues. Aside from the allergy thing, the staff tending to us were very polite. Maybe it's more of a training issue higher up because they seemed to be doing their best, but right now it's a miss at this location.

Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely kind and enjoyable. We tried a few tacos from the happy hour menu, along with oysters and a tostada, and everything was delicious. I added a Caesar salad at the end, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to the rest of the meal. Even with extra dressing, it was underwhelming and not something I'd order again. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and airy with a nice open feel. Overall, a great experience with just one small miss.

This sister to his Don Artemio is located immediately next door and is accessible through a lovely sea green glazed tile covered door. The interior motif is a delightful contemporary rendering of costal Mexican beach and architectural themes employing Mexican tiles and materials constructed by Mexican artisans. So enjoyable. The restaurant features two chefs who come to Dos Mares each representing one of Mexico's two coasts and that coast's indigenous cuisines, Pacific and Gulf. Our affable, energetic, and super helpful server, Bri, was remarkably well versed in all the menu offerings. And when one sees the menu and the nature, complexity and variety of the ingredients in the authentically artisanal Mexican dishes offered here, one cannot be anything but impressed with this server's knowledge and ability to provide genuinely helpful insight and recommendations. As we waited for drinks, a top shelf Marg for me (terrific, but pretty dang pricy... ask first. I didn't. LOL) and a brut Cava for Anne, we were presented with a demitasse cup of broth from the Caldo Dos Mares along with a variety of fried tortillas and salsas. We started with Ceviche Frito. Perfectly fried bites of octopus, sea bass, and shrimp in a red tiger sauce with an ash garlic alioli. Very nice. This was followed by the roasted beet salad with goat cheese, greens, walnuts, pumpkin seeds and a yogurt citrus dressing. For an entree we shared the Tacos Estilo Baja... tempura fried sea bass with garlic ailoli and cabbage slaw. We both greatly enjoyed this taco. The fish was fried to a moist, flaky perfection. We're pretty excited about this Mexican seafood addition to the FTW dining scene. Particularly as they will be doing lunch which is when in our old timer years we eat out.
