We stumbled upon this place located on Main Street in Azle and it did not disappoint! The burger had a little spice to it but it was not overpowering the flavor. The Caesar wrap tasted fresh and was nicely packed with chicken. We tried the onion strings and those were very good on their own. We will definitely be back to try other menu items! The place is small and cute. The service is nice but we did wait about more than 20 minutes for our food to arrive but it was a bit busy when we came in. I ordered the red burger basket which comes with fries and drink. I did order the coleslaw which is not worth $3 for a tiny cup and it is not flavorful. The burger is delicious and I like how fresh the ingredients are. Fries are a bit soggy in my opinion. But I do appreciate the fries seasoned with granulated salt. read more

I'm always looking for a good burger. Driven by this place before but never gave it a second thought. That is until I searched for a good place to eat and relied on my fellow Yelpers. From the outside it looks like a small barn. Inside it's got the country ambience but you instantly know this is going to be a good experience. The dining room is family style with picnic table to meet your fellow diners. I ordered the Farmhouse burger that has a fried egg and bacon on it. Who couldn't pass up the cheese fries either. Your order at the counter and they nice girls bring it out to you. Some old fashioned service...I liked that. My burger and fries came and looked amazing. Now the picture makes the burger look small but I just have big hands. The bun seems to be homemade and loved the egg running down the side. My first bite was even more than I hoped for. Lots of flavor packed inside that patty. The fries were just as good. Some places put a little shredded cheese that covers about 1/3 of the fries. Not here. This is a cute little place. They really support the local schools. I've been here several times and tried to salads to burgers. Service is always good, the young people are cheerful and happy to help with any questions. The only reason I gave them a 4 was due to the visit last week, the burgers were really dry and didn't have the flavor they usually do. This place used to be the best in Azle. After many soggy fries and dry burgers the wife and I stopped coming. We decided to try again. I tried the Twisted Oak. "We cook it to medium ". I have been here twice and I am not impressed. People rave about it, but I can't understand why. The burgers are a little on the expensive side, and there isn't anything really that sets them apart. The menu has basic burger joint stuff with a few things that have interesting names but are really just things you would find in a lot of semi-upscale burger places. I came here today to get a cheeseburger. The counter person must have been new. She wasn't sure if they had onion rings or onion strings, but finally decided on the latter. I can't imagine a burger place without onion rings. I ordered a cheeseburger by itself, but she kept saying basket. I finally had to correct her tell her again I just wanted a burger. It was about 1:20 when It ordered. I finally got my food about 20 minutes later. The burger was bloody in the middle, so I sent it back. They sent out another one pretty quickly. I looked it over and it appeared to be what I ordered. I forgot they use those awful bread n butter pickles. I didn't remember all of the reasons I didn't like this place last time, but it all came back to me. They should warn a people if they are going do something like that. Yuck. The burger was greasy and it had not been seasoned at all during cooking. They toast the buns which I like, but it was barely toasted‍. I ate about half of it because I was hungry. Have heard so much about Red's since we moved here. Finally was able to check it out and I give it two thumbs up! Friendly service, great portions, and pricing was decent. We ordered cheeseburger baskets and loved the flavor and freshness of the items. Red's has the cutest decor! I could feel the town pride just looking around the room. Red's was following COVID-19 guidelines by wearing masks and having every other table separated. They also offer curbside pickup. Looking forward to trying one of their specials in the future. Went in last night and ordered a Philly and Fries for dine in. 32 mins. later I still didn't have my order. I asked a staff person about my order and they responded to me with "I don't cook the food!" I continued to wait and then here the person came with just the Philly and no Fries. I asked, "What about the Fries?" Again, a rude reply. So, I said, "I want my money back, as it has been over 30 mins," and then she went off on me. I went back up to the register, where there was a very nice and friendly girl who I think credited back my credit card. Guess I will watch my bank statement and see. That nice girl had to tell the girl who was so not nice to "Stop!," responding to me as she was. I left and went elsewhere for dinner. We both had the Twisted Oak burger which comes with smoked gouda, garlic butter, provolone, caramelized onions and lettuce and mayo. The meat was locally sourced and grass fed and was cooked perfectly. The fries were seasoned with pepper and course sea salt. Slightly crispy! I absolutely recommend the house made ranch dressing as well. Excellent selection of craft beer including Community and Lakewood. Employees are very nice and attentive.
