A friend once told me that you can't judge a restaurant by online reviews because people are much more likely to post complaints than compliments, and I think that's true. I'm happy to be one of the people leaving praise because the Italian beef was excellent. My dad ordered the hot dog, and he loved it so much that he called my mom while we were still there to tell her about it. He even said it was the best hot dog he's ever had. The crinkle-cut fries were also some of the best I've ever eaten--crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The restaurant has a huge indoor dining area, a nice patio, and even though the drive-thru is constantly busy, I recommend eating inside at least once. The atmosphere is great, the food comes out fresh, and it's a fun experience. We'll definitely be back, and I hope more people give Portillo's a try instead of letting a few negative reviews keep them away. It has become one of my favorite places to eat.
