Kept me waiting over 2 hours after my scheduled appointment and told me it would be at least another 20 minutes more - Then the physician assistants or nurses (not sure their title) didn't know what was going on. Brought in all sorts of anesthesia equipment when I had to tell them I WAS NOT having general anesthesia. Oops#1 Then After keeping me waiting two hours, THEY ASKED ME what procedure I was having done. When I said you've got to be kidding, you don't know what I'm having done, she tells me she was testing me REALLY ?!!!! Oops #2 Can't say whether the shot I was getting was helpful or not, cause I left - the waiting so long was beyond ridiculous but the incompetence of their physicians assistants frankly scared me!!! read more

In the office I had a great experience from checking in to checking out, all the front office staff was very helpful and respectful of what I needed. X- ray staff was exceptionally nice and made sure I was comfortable at all times while they did their job diligently. Staff in the back were extremely friendly and patient with me making sure I was comfortable then asking questions about my health. I can't say enough about Dr. Basra who did 3 separate surgeries on my spine, he's the best as they come and I always recommend Dr. Basra and his staff to others looking for help with spinal issues. I had 2 disks pinching on a nerve in my lower back, and another in my upper back. Dr. Frauwirth suggested a shot of cortisone administered over two separate days. After the first shot, I was in excruciating pain. I called him and he said, 'we'll just give you another shot in the other side of the lower back instead of the upper'. I asked if we should get an MRI to see what happened. 'No'. I got the MRI done anyway and it arrived at his office the day of the 2nd shot. He told me he received it and would proceed as planned. Sure enough, the second shot did nothing for the pain. I went to The Hospital for Special Surgery and began recovering right away. Each time I went to L.I.S.S., I was charged $1,500 plus the anesthesiologist's cost. Go to HSS instead. read more

0 stars but yelp made me pick at least 1 in order to post a review and here is why so give it 0: I went to this place for a back issue because I couldn't get in to see my regular orthopedic surgeon. I wasn't seen by Dr DeWal until my last visit in regards to my MRI, I was handed off to an assistant at prior visits. The feeling that I was left with was that you are a number, they recommend you see the physical therapist in the same building, recommend you see their guy also in the same building for cortisone injections to manage pain if any. Forget about mailing any forms to the office if you need them filled out despite addressing it to the Dr himself, floor # exact address, after 7 days of sending a letter from commack to commack and being told one story after another by some of the staff "no one seems to have seen it" I guess they just let their mail pile up. And there is a particular person at the front desk that is very rude and I hope has been spoken to about her less than pleasurable and professional demeanor and won't be scolding other patients in the future because she hates the sound of the fax machine going off. That being said, because of all of the above, I will be sticking to my regular orthopedic surgeon for now on. Also, funny, when I was told on 1/25/2022 that they didn't have the paper work I sent in, wouldn't you know it, I received the same paperwork back today 1/262022 with my original note. Amazing how they found my paper work so fast after I complained to a "supervisor" about Jac××× who was rude to me about me faxing too many times. read more

This place is a horror show of voice mail robo responses and a protocol maze. I have been a patient for years but now that I am thousands of miles away on vacation they cannot renew a non-narcotic prescription because it is 'not policy.' The policy requires seeing the doctor every three months for a prescription. A stock trader would call that churning. The doctor admitted there was no point in my continuing to come for examinations because my choice was to have an 8 level spinal reconstruction or to 'ride it out with Gabapentin.' I chose the latter and the doctor agreed. Except now he has decided that I should keep coming in for appointments even though he knows the exam serves no purpose other than payment for an office visit. No response to voicemails. No response to faxes. They just don't care. read more

I had giving up on ever getting relief after each doctor I had seen (over six) did not want bother with the pain I was having because they could not figure where It was coming from. Dr Frendo is one of the best surgeons out there. Very compassionate and caring. I've been seeing Dr. Frendo do 10 years without any problem from him what do ever. There is laws against any doctor giving narcotics without seeing them. If anyone wants to put blame on the fact they have to see a doctor to get there narcotics refilled they should blame the past abuse by other doctors which now doesn't allow patients to get what they need for chronic pain. They also have pain management doctors to help control your pain. They require all there patients to be soon on a monthly basis in order to control your pain. This is a law now throughout the country. Florida being the worse with giving out narcotics. So do what your suppose to do in order to not be left without medicine. It's that easy. Dr. Frendo is number one in my book. read more

Had a great experience here with Dr. Daniel Choi. Had some bad sciatica and Dr. Choi came through with a microscopic surgery. Did my research online and he had credentials and training I was looking for. Was very nervous about the entire process but he was very calming and helped to explain the ins and outs of the entire surgery. Staff here is great too. Lauren was exceptional with helping to plan the entire surgery. Had pretty minimal pain after the procedure and leg pain completely gone after surgery! Not really sure if I could ask for much more. Long Island spine have many doctors to choose from and the two I've experienced were very good at what they do. My issue is when your not sitting in front of the dr. You become a number and not a patient. The staff is very good at following their procedures and policies but to a fault. When the rules of the office is first and the need of a patient is second there's an issue. While sitting with the dr and insurance is paying him your made to feel cared for but once your off the clock you quickly become just a number. Waiting days while in pain for a dr to call you really makes you see the difference between being under a drs care and having a caring dr. It's a shame that such competent drs sometimes loose sight of that. read more

Should not be in business. Has an EMG to figure out where the nerve damage was, found it, then the doctor heard my cough and said there was nothing they can do for me. Instead of working with my pulmonologist and getting me in a place where I could have the surgery, completely gave up on my case and billed me 8k for the EMG. Awful careless doctors. At no point did they inform me they did not accept my insurance. 2 full price level 5 consults. Never again. Drs we're fine. This method of not being clear with patients regarding insurance, inappropriate. I've NEVER had such an irresponsible experience in all my years with a medical office. read more

No one acknowledges there phone messages until you physically show up at the office and you are still pacified with unaccomplishment. Went to them to have surgery because I've already had tried pain killers, anti-inflammatory (pills as well as injection form), chiropractor care, and physical therapy it didn't work relief my pain. Since none of those treatment options (that I mentioned above) aren't permanent solutions and can't really fix the incorrect curve and herniated discs in my neck and degenerated/bulging disc, scoliosis in my back as well as sciatica, etc. That's why I need multiple surgeries, but they didn't listen me and gave a prescription for more physical therapy...what the hell, seriously was no help whatsoever avoid like the plague. read more
