I went to Dr. Dewal for a 2nd opinion, and was extremely disappointed. He was condescending and…read morerude. When looking at my MRI I got up to look more closely at it, and he told me to sit down. When I expressed a concern that often when people get cervical fusion (which is what he was pushing on me), they oftentimes end up needing another one in a few years due to the excessive stress placed on the surrounding discs. He told me that this was not the case and if they do need surgery that's it's because of natural degeneration. I know numerous people that this has happened to and it doesn't seem to happen to those who haven't had this surgery, so I have no trust in what he was saying. He barely looked up from my MRI report when speaking to me, and simply walked out when he finished telling me what he insisted I needed. No goodbye, nothing. I'm happy to report that I no longer have nerve pain due to an alternative approach I took, and I'm so happy that I didn't resort to surgery. I don't understand why this man has so many positive reviews on Google.

I have been told they are making changes and very busy. No reason not to return calls. The past 4 weeks have left numerous messages, and no one returned any call. I had left Intermittent FMLA paperwork with the office before August 5. Messages that I was leaving advised how my HR needed to have my FMLA forms submitted. August 5th had a Dr. appt. (5:45pm) and spoke to office manager to advise my FMLA paperwork has not been submitted and my HR needs ASAP. She advised it will be put in as Urgent (remember this was August 5th). . August 12th, after still trying to contact someone and leaving messages, my FMLA was denied because the Dr's Office did not submit the paperwork. I called the old phone number and advised the person who my doctor was and would not call the 833 # since I have been calling that number and no one returns calls. Of course, when I explained what was happening, I got a standard, I am sorry and that she would transfer me to a Mgr. I spoke to Madelyn or Marilyn (office mgr.). she advised on August 5 the paperwork was put in as urgent. I told her that today is August 12 and the paperwork was not submitted to my HR how is that urgent? She told me that within 1-2 days my HR department will have the FMLA paperwork. Today is August 17th, no paperwork has been received. Yesterday I left a message, after I was blind transferred to Madelyns voice mail, thinking I was going to speak to her. Advised this would be my last message and I was seeking an Attorney since I need my FMLA paperwork submitted. Offices of doctors know that FMLA paperwork needs to complete in a timely matter. No one returned my call again or sent the paperwork to my HR Dept.

I'd try and schedule appointments earlier in the day if you're coming from eastern Long Island and visiting the Babylon office. (Traffic is notably faster first thing in the morning on 27.) My favorite thing about this practice? They have an on-site surgical suite that's run with precision clockwork. A 9:15 epidural had the family in the car at 10:10. With his help I've been able to stop using a walker and or a cane and reduce my medication. And the office was always accommodating to me up until recently. Since they hired a new.NP they've not been accommodating at all. Colleen, the new nurse practitioner does not like it when someone is late and if you are, she will tell you that you have to reschedule and not try to squeeze you in. Now I suffer from severe chronic pain and it's hard to even motivate myself to get up and get out of the house. So, I am very often late although I do try my hardest to get there on time. It was the last month Colleen Schneider has had me rescheduled four times. I've only seen her once or twice since she's been hired and she told the receptionist today that she has spoken to me many times about my punctuality. When you're dealing with people that have to rely on other people to travel because they can't drive themselves due to pain or being on opioids or other medication that can make you drowsy. I think you have to be a little understanding as the office always was; specially since I'm always willing to wait. It's OK if you have an appointment and get there 10-15 minutes early but you have to wait 30 minutes or more to be seen but apparently it's not OK if you're 15 minutes late. If I am extremely late and have to reschedule I have never given them an issue regarding that but this is getting ridiculous. At this time, although I love Dr. Finkelstein I am considering changing pain management doctors. As it is, I travel from out east on Long Island to the Babylon office just to see Dr. Finkelstein so in addition to the pain and relying on others, we also have to contend with traffic. If I was writing a review six weeks ago, I probably would've given this Office five stars. However, since Colleen's been there and having to deal with her superiority complex, along with her unwillingness to understanding of how difficult it is for some to be on time consistently and not wanting to be flexible I think I am being generous by giving 2 stars. After all, the follow up visit is less than 5 min with the follow up practitioner as it is only for medication refills and Colleen thinks she is strong arming patients into her definition of time compliance by holding your medication ransom. I have been out of my long/extended release pain medication for these past six weeks despite that I have requested the refill even if it was a weeks worth. She did fill the immediate release which is only supposed to be for breakthrough pain. So this leaves me in more pain than I would normally be in. Marieanna Santana the PA and Dr. Finkelstein have all been accomodating as well as all other PA's and NP's that have worked their in the past this issue has started since Colleen has been with them.
