Great little store with a nice assortment of tees and hoodies. Wish they also carried some pants.

The store appears to be understaffed, resulting in longer wait times for customers trying on shoes. Employees rarely take the initiative to greet customers or ask whether they've been helped, and cashiers are often left alone while lines begin to form. During my visit, I found a great deal and attempted to use a coupon to receive my additional discount. However, the cashier's response came across as passive-aggressive. Gail assisted me, and I noticed a significant difference in how she initially treated the customer ahead of me compared with how she treated me. She greeted the other customer with a smile, despite that customer attempting to return worn shoes. Meanwhile, I remained polite, smiled, and presented myself respectfully, yet Gail's demeanor toward me only shifted to a more professional, albeit seemingly insincere, interaction. Overall, the store has excellent potential because of its selection and pricing, but the customer experience falls short. The staff could benefit from better training in customer engagement, professionalism, and creating a welcoming shopping environment. Finding a great deal is a plus, but customers should not have to compromise on service to get one.

I picked up the item in the store and all went smoothly but the bathrooms was a health hazard, hence why we downgraded our review. This is unhygienic and customers and employees deserve clean environments. Please clean. Thank you.

Over the years, I've purchased multiple pairs of custom ice hockey skates from Westside. Dave and his team are pros and will take the time with you to ensure you have properly fitted skates. For skates, their business model is less like a traditional drop-in pro shop and more of a custom experience, so be sure to make an appointment - you will receive gold-standard treatment. Another thing - my skates prematurely broke down after a year of usage due to a manufacturer defect, and Dave went out of his way to make it right by working with the manufacturer to replace it. Westside stands by the products it sells and will ensure satisfaction with your purchase. I will continue to purchase my next pair of skates here.

He is very knowledgeable and thorough when it comes to skate fitting. I really appreciated David's explanation of all the steps of getting the perfect fit for my boot. Between the heat molding, punching, and modifications he made to my skates, it really was so worth it. (Just be prepared to be in the shop for a good chunk of time!) Today I skated for the first time with the new boots and blades and the sharpening was absolutely perfect, I have never glided like I did today. David will definitely will be my new go-to for sharpening, 100% worth the trip! Thank you so much David!

In the beating heart of New York's fabled East Village, where countercultural echoes resound…read morethrough every crooked street, lies a skate shop that is far more than just a purveyor of skate goods. It is a temple, a sacred space where the religion of skating is not only celebrated but actively cultivated with the kind of artistic flare that is so often crushed by corporate america. As I stepped through the doorway, I was immediately embraced by the rich, intoxicating aroma of fresh grip tape and the promise of endless tricks and adventures. The walls were adorned with a curated gallery of skate art, each piece a vibrant memento of sessions past, daring feats etched into the concrete canvas of the city's parks and plazas. Behind the counter stood the shopkeep, a bright eyed practitioner of the craft whose eyes held flips and grinds in his eyes and the guy (perhaps one of the co-owners) eyes should the hard-won wisdom of a thousand ollies and an endless spiral shove its and trey flips. With an unhurried grace, he guided me through the vast selection of decks, each one a potential vessel for my dreams of the tricks I had in mind in NY. I only skate 8.38, a pristine slab of Canadian maple whose concave curves beckoned me like the shores of some undiscovered nation. As I ran my fingers along its lengths, I could feel the potential energy thrumming beneath the surface, waiting to be unleashed upon the unforgiving embrace of New York's legendary terrain. The transaction complete, the guy behind the counter did not simply send me on my way with a perfunctory "thank you." No, in his magnanimous spirit, he offered to initiate me into the sacred welcome of the shop's team, to let me drink deeply from the fountain of skating knowledge that flowed through their ranks. It was a humbling invitation, one that filled me with a sense of belonging to something greater than myself. As I departed, deck in hand, I knew that I had not merely purchased a skateboard, but had taken one small step closer to true enlightenment. The East Village skate shop was far more than just a business - it was a gateway to a life of freedom, expression, and unbound joy. And I could not wait to scratch try out NY's street delights.

Excellent customer service highly recommend. Great selection and a passionate staff. Worth a visit…read morenext time you are in town
