The delivery arrived quickly, which I appreciated, and initially I saw this as a business we could rely on for future last-minute needs. However, when I called to pay the invoice, I was met with an unexpectedly rude and dismissive attitude from the person who answered the phone. The interaction was uncomfortable enough that I asked who I was speaking with and was told it was Freddy, who identified himself as the boss. Customer service starts at the top, and first impressions matter. While our delivery driver was professional and courteous, my experience with management left a very different impression. Respectful communication should be the standard, especially when interacting with customers who are supporting your business. Super quick ice service! I needed some dry ice and regular ice for a 5 day camping trip. The service was quick and they were informative on how to store the dry ice and how to properly handle it. There's not too much parking so I had to park in the street and walk over with my cooler. I believe you have to purchase 10lbs minimum of dry ice. We got 10lbs of dry ice and a few packs of the party pack ice (regular cubed ice). Over 5 days of camping in 90 degree heat, we still had ice left and unmelted at the end of our trip! For future, I'll pick up some block ice to add on top of the dry ice and then add the party pack ice. My family called Long Beach Ice on 7/18/22 to inquire about dry ice, since we had a scheduled blackout and needed to be able to store our food safely overnight. The customer service was absolutely unacceptable! The man who picked up was extremely unprofessional and rude, responding to basic questions with sarcasm and obvious annoyance. He then suddenly put us on hold and never picked up the phone again. It's almost as if he doesn't want any customers! It goes without saying at this point that I have been left sorely disappointed and angered by the ill treatment we received by this business. Is it strange that I'm this excited about an ice store? You drive your car up to the loading dock, bust out your empty coolers and get all the ice you need within minutes. We got great customer service by the ice man (haha, no Top Gun reference intended) who offered expert advice on the best bags to buy and how to transport and store them. If you only get massive amounts of ice once or twice a year, it's not intuitive so it was great to have such good service! Not only is it convenient as you barely have to leave your car, but prices are like half what you would pay at a grocery store. 7 lbs for $1.50, 20 lbs for $4. But the best thing about this place is that they sell pre shaved ice in huge bags so you can make snow cones at home... Or even create a winter wonderland. Seriously, we asked and the ice man told us they do private parties where they can fill your backyard with a six foot deep, 25 by 25 foot layer of snow. They do children's birthday parties... Avoid this establishment at all costs. My company has been buying 200-400 lbs of ice each Monday for the past 6 months or so. Every week we are treated as thought we are a nuisance and they are doing us a favor by selling us ice. Seems as though they would rather focus on their delivery service so why not just close to the public all together?
