I had him call The Lucky Dog for a dealer's choice design with a location of my choosing. While slightly nervous because I knew nothing about the artist, I'm here to tell you that Travis is a gifted artist with a enchanting line style and pop doll collection. Nothing about this tattoo was planned and it somehow ended up matching my first tattoo on my chest. I was blown away by the design when I first saw it, and promptly decided to have it placed on my calf. My only regret is that I can't see it; this tattoo was completed in less than two hours and the attention he put into detail on it in that short time span blew my mind. Travis is affordable, personable, and has years of experience doing this. It's a cash only business; I possibly like this better than my first, and I paid a quarter of the price for it (I'm from California.) I'll be coming back and getting another from him next year, without a doubt. Call and make an appointment because he's quite busy, and walk-ins aren't available. I got lucky with a day-before scheduling.

I have been wanting it since I was with my ex gf. It was the owner who did the work. Not much shading in the design, but his line work is nice and tight. Only seen better one time in my life, and that was triple the hourly rate. Prices here are low for the quality you get in my opinion. Will definately be back here again. When we picked Astoria as a travel destination last summer, I started looking up places we may want…read moreto visit and top of the list was a tattoo shop. I did a deep dive into their website and Instagram accounts and Keepsake clearly became our top choice. For the record, their explicit support of #BlackLivesMatter sealed the deal. I knew it was a long shot trying to get on one of their artist's calendars only a few weeks prior, although I decided it was worth trying. I e-mailed both Aaron and Russ. I got an automatic reply from Aaron that he was booked out for like six months, however, Russ responded and while he was already fully booked the week we would be there, he offered to put us on a waitlist just in case someone canceled. Fast forward a week, and still a couple weeks before our trip, and Russ reached out to get more information on what we were looking for. Then he proceeded to go out of his way to bump up some local clients to make room for us. It was my honey's second and my more than second tattoo. Both were in "spicy" spots pain-wise--calf for him, inner upper arm for me. Russ is a seasoned artist and it shows through both his professionalism, as well as his ability to make a painful experience as easy as possible. Tattoo safety aside (which they obviously take very seriously), I really appreciated their attention to COVID safety as well, including masking for artists and clients. Both of our pieces have healed beautifully and we would return in a heartbeat. I am hoping that future travel plans can include more time in Astoria and specifically more time at Keepsake Tattoo. I would just plan farther ahead next time!

I guess I am an outlier here but based on my experience, I do not recommend Precision Piercing…read more The owner knows his craft but his energy was terrible. He was rigid, aggressive, and belittled both me and my teenage daughter during our piercing session today. There are a lot of rules at this place. I am sure he has his reasons for them but some seem odd. We were told to back in to a certain space in his lot and wait to be waved in. Ok, fine. Then when walking in we were told not once but twice to wipe our feet. Ok, fine. As soon as we walked into the lobby, we were told to sit in specific chairs, twice, ok fine. He then began spewing out a ton of information. We tried to take it all in. He then asked my daughter if she wanted posts or hoops for her double piercing. She said posts for now but would be wearing hoops later after sports season. I then gave him the gift certificate I had purchased for my daughter to use for this session. He immediately said in an irritated and condescending voice, "did I not tell you to let me know when making an appointment to tell me if you were using a gift certificate"? I told him he had not and he said, "well, now I have to change things!" I have no idea what that change would be but I have never been told by any business that I have to tell them ahead of time I am using a gift certificate. Ok, fine. We then get called back to the piercing area. He told my daughter that he was going to mark her ears where he would pierce them and she could tell him if she wanted them moved. He placed the marks higher than she liked and politely told them so. He immediately became outwardly irritated with her. She said she would like to wear hoops in the second hole (meaning eventually as stated in the lobby) and he aggressively said, "well, why didn't you tell me that in the lobby when I asked!?". My daughter is 15. He kept belittling her, for no reason, so I stepped in and said, "this is her first time getting double piercings" hoping this would make him realize he was being unkind in his communication with her. He then remarked her ears. At this point had I not already purchased a gift certificate for her for Christmas, we would have left the business. He then pierced her ears and placed them very well. He used great sanitary procedures and explained them all VERY extensively. When we thought he was done as he was wiping down the countertop, we stood up, very ready to leave. He then told my daughter to sit back down, twice, so she could watch him clean the countertop. He asked her if she had any questions but at this time, we were both so nervous to ask him anything, that we stayed silent. He then tried to make small talk with us but we were done. He knows his craft. He is sanitary but his customer service absolutely sucks. He may have pierced people 1000 times in his career but this was a new experience for my daughter. He acts as if everyone should know exactly what he is talking about instead of offering customer service. I don't need my ass kissed but basic pleasantries and not being talked down to would be nice.
