The item was provided by the surgical facility. Prior to my procedure, I confirmed that the facility was within Cigna's network. However, I later learned that a portion of the services or providers associated with the facility may be considered out of network. I do not fully understand how this determination was made or how it permits such a significant charge. I did not explicitly authorize the purchase of this item, nor was I informed of its cost beforehand. While it may be permissible under current billing practices, it does not seem reasonable or transparent. Situations like this raise serious concerns about fairness and clarity in medical billing practices within the U.S. healthcare system.

Without my consent or knowledge, a limb compression device was placed on me for prevention of blood clot. This was a v short procedure and risk of blood clot forming would be minimal. My health insurance was subsequently billed for $495 which it declined. 3 years later, I got a bill for $495 for a service that I did not consent for. Looking at other reviews on this company, it is obviously doing questionable business.
