We talked about allergies and I learned something new today - the correct way to use Flonase! A prescription was sent to the pharmacy via her iPad and off we went. On the way out, there is a sticker station where the kiddos can choose a sticker, so that was the big decision of the hour. Insurance was billed so I didn't need to make a payment at the visit. I thought the practice was efficient, caring and professional.

This was my sons first pediatrician and we really enjoy this office. They have flexible scheduling and have ALWAYS been able to get us in for same day sick visits. They're also open on Saturday's. Billing department is so friendly and will happily explain your bill and even has worked out a payment plan with me in the past. The nurses don't make you wait in the waiting room for more than maybe two minutes; they're very quick to get you in a room. There's never much of a wait for the doctor either- maybe 5-7 minutes. Everyone is always friendly and happy & they welcome you in when you come in. I also like how they ask "can he have an L-O-L-L-I-P-O-P?" (They spell it out) so my kid doesn't know what they're asking and I can say no and he doesn't know what he missed. LOL. It's really so many small things about this office that make it great. I'm not sure what the bad reviews are for other than it seems other reviewers don't like the policy of having to fax over vaccine records, growth checks, and dr notes. This is all pretty standard since if you're transferring your child's care, a new doctor NEEDS to see how your child has done in the past to best see how they are doing in the current moment & in the years moving forward. It seems unfair to me that people would give this place a low rating because they don't like the policy, but to each his own.

The 2nd doctor is Dr Jonathan Piga the internist. One-star. Went to him years ago for annual checkup. Of course we took blood test, when he found out that I had high cholesterol, he charged me a sick visit fee, which I wasn't expecting. I was expecting the annual check-up fee to be 100% covered by insurance. But he charged me for sick visit, and charged insurance for annual check. Then, he diagnosed me with a thyroid disease called Hashimoto (which is a thyroid issue), making me worried sick. I had to get second and third opinions with endocrinologists. In the end, I endured more tests and spent money and time going to get 2nd and 3rd opinions. They said I was fine. Due to his misdiagnosis, I had to spend couple hundred bucks extra, was worried and spent precious time finding other doctors.

Best Nest has a great nurse line that will call you back during the work day if you have questions, and there is also an after-hours nurse line that I've utilized a few times. The entire staff has been incredibly kind and helpful throughout the last 4 years. Overall, I can't say enough amazing things about this practice, and specifically Dr. Schroeder!

When I left, I spoke to the front office, explaining things at a high level, and asked that patterns not repeat... WELL, they are. Long story short, I left an abusive relationship a week after giving birth. At the same time, I developed sever postpartum depression. Because of this, I have been severely judged and mistreated for getting sick beyond my control in the court system, which has extended down to this practice. Beyond the initial switch, I never brought up details of my divorce or abusive ex husband. He is truly a narcissist and makes it his mission to shine me in the most terrible light. He literally visits each caregiver's office, showing them the divorce papers and spins his version of the story, which is not true. After the initial switch to this practice, we started out well, but all of a sudden, this practice made me sign a form saying I would not involve them. I never shared any detail with them, yet had to sign this form. What did my ex tell them? Since then, I have said nothing, yet it seems they allow my ex to share every detail and complicate every situation, and they allow him to! Recently, I have had complications signing in to the patient portal and getting the true care my child deserves. Three weeks ago, they sent over two prescriptions, not considering implications of insurance. As a result, one prescription was discounted and filled on time. The other was severely delayed and the pharmacy attempted to charge full price. My ex refused to share the prescription with me. When I brought this to the clinic's attention, they said "hey! We don't do this he said she said stuff." That was not my intent, I simply gave them the facts in an attempt to get an alternate prescription filled to treat my child. I took my child there again after developing a severe diaper rash after a long weekend not in my care. As a result, a prescription was sent to pharmacy. I asked for two half prescriptions to share between households. Suddenly, a comment of insurance being finicky with two prescriptions was made. What changed between this visit and the one three weeks ago? Rather than keeping the best interest of a child in this situation, they choose the path of least resistance. This approach then leaves the burden on me to address and correct. Ultimately, BestNest is looking out for their best interest, not the child, and not the parent trying to do the right thing. My child's care is being neglected, my mistreatment continues and is further propagated by this practice, and I can't seem to do anything about it. As the guarantor, I REALLY want to move to a more trusting pediatrician, but I feel like with my ex's behavior, patterns will repeat. Hopefully by sticking it out, their eyes will be opened.

Great experience with PA Jason!…read more I initially booked an appointment online after a PA at Children's Health PM Pediatric Urgent Care in McKinney automatically prescribed antibiotics for my son's inflammation despite there being no clear signs of infection such as pain, discharge, or foul smell. As a mother, my intuition told me to seek a second opinion, so I scheduled an appointment at Urgent Care for Kids in Frisco, TX. PA Jason quickly assessed my son's condition and explained that antibiotics were unnecessary. He identified the inflammation as a reaction to a bug bite and recommended Benadryl instead. Just three days later, the inflammation was completely gone! I am incredibly thankful for PA Jason's expertise, thoughtful evaluation, and sensible approach. Highly recommend!

She was brought in to ABC on day 3 of a fever, tested positive for an infection, and Heidi Hall did not communicate any results to us. When we called ABC on day 5 saying our daughter was worse, Willa verbatim told us that "Heidi was too busy" to answer our questions. The night our daughter went into sepsis, we could not reach anyone at ABC to help us. The nurse triage line could not get in contact with any doctors. When Dallas ER needed her test results to treat her, they were unable to reach anyone that would respond at ABC, and this was during open hours on a week day. I was told by Nancy and Brianna that Dr. Burton was "too busy" to read a test result. I was again surprised at the lack of response, thinking ABC would now see the severity of the situation and help. Heidi and Willa never communicated test results or bothered to speak with us. Dr. Burton could not be reached on the triage line and didn't respond to the ER doctor. Pepper couldn't be bothered to read notes from the ER visit to review with us during the follow up. Each of these providers told us to trust them with the care of our child, and they made the choice to be negligent. This practice is broken, providers take shortcuts and sacrifice good quality care for its parents and patients at any cost. I share this now in hopes no other parent has to hear their child may not live past the night or see their child suffer because of the negligence of these providers. I encourage you to look elsewhere if you are considering them or if your experience here has not been what you hope it is as a parent, choose to make the effort to find a new provider versus hope things will get better. I kept saying "oh the next appt will be less rushed" or "it must have just been a bad day" and continued to make excuses. Don't make the same mistake we did trusting this practice with our child's care.
