My son wrecked his truck 2 years ago. My vehicle had a wreck 1 year ago. Took both to Lone Star Auto Repair. One was covered by comprehensive ins., the other did not have comprehensive. In both instances, the staff from the start to finish, were professional, compassionate for the damage and took the reins and completed the work. Both vehicles looked and drove better than when our vehicles were driven off of the car dealership. They also work with you on keeping the prices low & offer locating gently used parts ort OEMs from dealerships. Their work ethics and craftsmanship are spot on. They even have a wrecker service. I'm only reviewing the lack of cooperation from the towing impound service. I do not have any experience with the auto repair service.If your car gets towed by this company on a Friday late afternoon you are required to pay for the entire weekend even though they are not open to retrieve your car before the following Monday. It was clear they had my needs in mind with their strict attention to detail and putting the vehicle back into repair when it was realized a critical component needed further repair. The free loan car was greatly appreciated. However it seems as though the repairs were not complete when I kept getting Check Engine lights for weeks after. My schedule does not allow me to go back to their shop so the at Edition also repairs has cost me a few thousand dollars outside of insurance and additional downtime. read more

Warning ! Do not let your car get towed here for a "free estimate " after a car accident or engine issues. The estimate is only free if you agree to their inflated repair cost. Also they will charge you a storage fee of over a $100 a day until you get your car off the property. read more

My truck was towed to this place around 1 a.m. 8/7/2021, from 2 a.m. until 5 p.m. the SAME day I have called both number given to my by the police department. The web site says it's open 24/7, and that's a LIE! The phone rings to no end, I have left several messages with no return. Just proves they try to hold your car for as long as possible and charge you more $$ in the end. Can't speak on customer service due to the lack of that's no given by phone. read more

Unfortunately, my wife and I were both in accidents this year (neither one was our fault), but when the second wreck happened I knew exactly where I wanted to take my truck. The rental car was very nice and the staff are just outstanding. The process was so easy and stress-free! My grandfather passed away while my truck was being fixed so I was stuck out of town with the rental for a week when my truck was already fixed and they were extremely understanding! My truck looks brand new! They detailed the inside as well, which looks so nice! Lonestar Auto Sales is the worst people to do your car. The owner and management are crooks. Don't leave there with a balance. They will put a false mechanics lien on your car. I owe them $2700. They had my car since May and put the lien on for $12,000 after my insurance company paid them $8500. They are shady and so are the Tow Truck Drivers. I am going through the court system with them now because they are liars. I am battling cancer and need my car for my appointments. I tried to see if I could make payments. They already had filed the lien on me. I have missed so many appointments. They are heartless. Go anyplace else besides Lonestar. I paid them to tow my car to their shop for a free estimate per the card the tow driver gave me. Their quote was ridiculously high so I chose to take it elsewhere. When I arrived with a tow truck they held my car hostage until I paid them $125 for the estimate that they advertised as free. Steer clear of this place! They are rip off artists! read more

If you ever get into an accident and a Loan Star wrecker is there to tow you, ask for another tow. Or have the car towed to your house if possible - anywhere but their shop!!! The fact is that you don't have to pull the coin out of a hat. The wreckers do that for one another, not for you! The law states that you can choose whichever towing service you wish but that if you don't have a preference then they will do this coin bologna. So call your own preferred service right when you get into an accident!! So why am I prefacing this and why such a bad review? They took twice as long to fix my car as stated - 6 weeks! For a door and a panel! I can only assume that my car was the least important. When I got the car back there were a myriad of issues. A gouge in the body where they put the window back in. A bump in the interior paneling. My cell phone charger was missing as was the auxiliary cable for my satellite radio. They encased the wire for my satellite antenna between the the body and interior of my car! Water leaking into my car when I went through a car wash - and through the A-pillar, not the door seals! For 6 weeks worth of work you'd think they put a lot of effort into it, but I guess not. And these were just a few issues I had when I got it back and with this company as a whole. The owner/manager/operator quoted me a price on a rental. Avis called and said they were told to give me a higher price. When I told them that I was quoted a lower price they said they would call Lone Star to verify. I was still charged the higher price Avis quoted in the end. They said they would not use non-OEM parts because they can cause issues. I look over my receipt and find non-OEM parts listed. Basically, they are just going to say whatever they think you want to hear from the parts all the way to the estimated time on the repairs. So I traded in this car. I just couldn't stand the idea of having to deal with these people anymore. I'd hate to think how long it would take them to fix the extra issues they caused since they would have to take up the cost themselves! They got what they wanted though - money - and the manager of the place basically admitted he was going to do nothing if he had to pay for it! You'd think they would figure out that they could get more of it and faster if they actually got their customers out on time and with the job done well! read more

***Criminals*** Crooks***Dishonest***Deceitful***Rude*** This is what you can anticipate from this company. My vehicle was towed on Saturday, 7/9 around 11p. Immediately after at 11:07p, I called Lone Star Auto to retrieve my vehicle and spoke to Doug. He refused to release it to me despite the fact that I had all the information the law requires for me to get it. The state of Texas requires the vehicle storage facility to release vehicles to a people who provide the following: Payment of all fees due, PLUS a valid photo identification issued by the state or federal government (usually a drivers license), PLUS ANY ONE of the following eight items (to show proof of authority): A notarized power of attorney OR A court order OR A certificate of title OR A tax collector's receipt and vehicle registration renewal card OR A notarized proof of loss claim of theft from an insurance company to show a right of possession OR Positive name and address information that corresponds to the information contained in TXDOT Vehicle Titles and Registration files OR A valid Insurance Certificate for the vehicle OR A TDLR-approved Affidavit of Right of Possession and Control. The name and address on the identification and the proof of authority (one of the eight items listed above) must match. Rather than argue with this guy who tells me I'm lucky he's even talking to me because I'm not the actual owner of the vehicle, I explain I'm simply requesting information to pick up my car. He snaps,"You're not the owner of the vehicle." I tell him I appreciate his help and decide to try again in the morning. By this time, it's 11am on a Sunday. I call Doug to tell him I'll have the notarized document he's requesting and ask how much it will cost to pick up my car. Instead of telling me the price, he asks, "Haven't we gone through this? " I had the funds, a valid texas i.d. and current insurance information to retrieve the vehicle. However, Doug REFUSED to release it without a notarized Affidavit of Right of Possession and Control because the car was not in my name. THAT IS AGAINST THE LAW! Doug specifically told me he would not release it unless I came into the office on Monday, 7/11 at 9a to complete this document. I told him I'd have the document today. He wanted to know where I would get the affidavit and how I would notarize it on a Sunday. WTH?! That is none of your concern but this the INFORMATION AGE and everything is online. [Shout out to LGE Systems for being open on Sundays & going above and beyond for your customers.] I had to ask what the charges were 3 times before he told me! Then he said I must be there at noon because that's the only time he was releasing vehicles to owners. That was no problem for me and I didn't argue. But on Sundays, because the business accepts vehicles 24/7, someone is to be available at least an hour after you call to retrieve your vehicle between the hours of 8a-5p. Anyway, I arrived to pick up my car around 11:50a and there was already a couple waiting. When Doug arrived around 12:15p he was cheery & chatting them up like they were besties. When it came to me, he didn't greet me. That's fine...whatever. He just said he needed to make copies of my documents. I'm telling you he starred at my insurance and the notarized affidavit for 5 long minutes before making a copy. Then, in his office there was complete silence as he starred at the affidavit for another 5 minutes. I think he wanted so badly for something to be out of order so he could hold my vehicle another day. I could be wrong. He finally handed over my key and as I walked out the door he mumbled thanks. My vehicle was there from 11p on 7/9 to 12:30p on 7/10. That's not even 24hours. How was I charged for 2 days of storage? Having your vehicle towed is irritating enough. Why make a nasty experience even more unpleasant? I'll tell you why. These people believe they are above the law. They treat you as such because they have your vehicle in their possession and the longer they keep it, the more $$$ you have to pay. They try to verbally intimidate you while holding your vehicle hostage so you pay additional storage fees. Doug's rude, dishonest behavior speaks a lot about how this business is run. Because of it, I would never willingly select Lone Star Auto as a towing service, or trust them to complete mechanical or body work on any of my vehicles. I wouldn't purchase a tire, a windshield wiper or anything else from them and you shouldn't either. Look at their rating and trust the negative reviews! Like most, I was also in a wreck and my car was initially taken to this facility. When I went to sign a release to have my car sent to another body shop of choice, the guy (owner or manager) was so pushy and persistent that I get my car fixed there. I told him I had already made up my mind. He kept on and on as to why I should get it fixed at his shop. It was a bit uncomfortable! I should not have to explain myself over and over again. Once I finally signed the papers, I thanked him and told him I would keep his shop in mind in the future. He was so upset that I did not agree to let them work on my car, that he did not even acknowledge my thank you and basically dismissed me! How rude and childish! Why would I ever want to do business with these people? So my advise is do not let these people scam you into feeling obligated to have them do the work!!! It is your choice!!!! read more

I'm going to keep this as short as possible. DO NOT EVER GO HERE!! My car was here for 37 days and luckily i didn't pay the rental on the first attempt to fix it. when i picked it up it looked terrible. paint wasn't the same there were chips and dents all over the car and filthy inside and out. My headlight was not replaced properly so there was water in it. Had to bring my car back 3 more times before it looked some what decent. I had to get a rental thru them because it was their mistake to fix not the insurance company. Then the office clerk lied to the car rental place and didn't tell them i already had a claim number and they were fixing their error. SO THEY CHARGED ME the 175.... the rental company had no idea lone-star was supposed to be paying for it. the rental place told me that Francesca was supposed to call back to tell them how i would be paying, (I WASN'T SUPPOSED TO PAY). But when i gave her my card she said the rental would only be placing a $50 hold on my card and they were paying for everything else. NOW i have to wait for the rest of the money to be refunded to my account. and Francesca wanted to argue with me telling me it wasn't her fault, come to find out she lied to the rental place knowing i would be charged. While i was there i talked to both managers Cory and Doug... what a joke! They are not managing that place at all, when i was in there the last time they both walked away while i was discussing my issue. i was a customer with a problem and neither one of them made it a priority to fix, it until i lost my cool. When i brought my car back the first time saying i had issues, they should have bent over backwards to make sure the car they returned was 100% fixed and looked good. they paid me back PARTIAL rental reimbursement, and offered me free services on the vehicle.... are you kidding me i will never be back again!!!! read more
