Driving through Norwood and saw this spot so decided to drop in for a bite to eat. The service was great and my soup and sandwich was really good. Very nice bar area with a pool table and seemed like a good place to have a couple of cold beers and just hang out for the evening. So let it be written...So let it be EATEN. read more

Neat little bar/restaurant nestled in a small town in the mountains of Southern Colorado! We were visiting Telluride because my kids love to ride the gondolas so much! Everything around Telluride was sold out so we ended up in the hotel right next door to this place.. the beers were cheap and they had live music from a guy taking requests! The bartender and other waitstaff were extremely friendly and attentive, they were having a good time tossing a few back with the patrons which REALLY makes for a more enjoyable experience! I love when the staff is loosened up and enjoying life even while at work! Loved the old school feel of the place and cannot wait to visit Lone Cone again at some point!! read more

This is an amazing little place. We were on vacation and got there close to closing time. But the owner and an amazing little waitress named Amy welcomed us in and provided us with superb customer service. They fed us one of the best steaks I've ever put in my mouth. They treated us like family- told us the history of this beautiful old bar and how the beautiful Mahogany and tiger wood bar ended up in Norway, Colorado. It was made in the 1800s . The owners are a young couple who have great pride in their place. I would definitely give them 5 stars on hospitality, great service and delicious reasonably priced food. Wow! What a find! I came across this joint on a 3,000 mile summer road trip and had the BEST STEAK OF MY LIFE! The saloon had a classic, western vibe, there was a great local musician playing, the bartender and wait staff were super friendly and the food was exceptional. Normally I am not the kind of guy who devours a steak and then orders desert, but I am so glad that I had Chef Molly's chocolate deliciousness. A little detour from Telluride but definite highlight of my trip. read more

Our Airbnb host in Norwood suggested we eat at the The Lone Cone and she was spot on with her endorsement! To some it may not look like much on the outside, and it is nothing fancy, but stepping inside takes you back in history with its amazing 19th century bar and history of the area and people displayed on the walls. But the impressions didn't end there with the fantastic, friendly and fast service, and great food to boot. We ate there both nights of our stay in Norwood. Whatever you have get the Moutaintime beer on tap, cold, golden, and great after a long, hot day, and the sweet potato waffle fries, family consensus the best fries we've ever had. Steak was awesome and cooked to perfection, big juicy burgers, and a BLT that was more B than LT. This place is a MUST-EAT when you're in the Norwood area! Norwood is an economical and comfortable stay compared to others around the Telluride area, and The Lone Cone just adds to the experience! read more

Decent bar food here. Your usual nachos and chicken fingers are my standard order in the bar. If you go into the dinning room they mix it up a little with some chicken fried steak and I've even seen trout. The service is always better if you go in with a local though. read more

Ate here a few times. I was pleased with what I had, but as a vegetarian, I am clearly not their intended audience. The dinner salad can make a meal unto itself. But they have a black bean salad that was delicious and is worth the visit. The desserts are deadly, as in rich, sinful, and irresistible. We were passing through on business. The carnivorous co-workers liked the place and have eaten here several other times. We had great service - staff were outgoing and friendly. We sat at the bar for food service. My vegetarian salads were not very expensive, but the main entrees were ~$20, typical for Norwood where a lot of food seemed overpriced. read more

Next time we'll stop in Naturita. Not impressed with an advertised chicken strip salad. It was a standard chicken filet (didn't appear to be brazed or grilled) that was sliced on a bed of iceberg lettuce, with a pinch of shredded cheese (could have come from a packet), a couple of tomato & cucumber slices, and a few croutons that were the size of pencil-eraser heads. Caesar salad dressing on the side. Service was not very attentive by the young bartender who brought me a half cup of coffee even though I told her that I'd wait for the fresh pot. The coffee was cold and the fresh pot took fifteen minutes to make; a second cup was poured by my wife when another waitress came to clear out plates and didn't even ask if we needed anything else. I had placed the empty coffee cup right at the edge of the table so that it could be seen to need a refill. Wife's water glass was never refilled and never asked if she wanted some more. We're not locals, but I guess our motorcycle clothing kinda clashed with the cowboy/hunter/rancher uniform of Sunday in Norwood. We're both working people and don't project a haughty attitude and wondered why we were not welcomed well. Still we tipped accordingly and rode out of town on our iron steed with a "Hope your day is fine." attitude. read more

A delightful surprise for dinner in Norwood. We were visiting for a wrestling tournament in Nucla. The Lone Cone was within a 4 block walking distance from our hotel and we chose to enter the bar side (can also eat in the dining room). After enjoying a frosty Corona w/lime while admiring the beautiful back bar, we decided to stay on the bar side for dinner as well as the food served was the same. The steaks we ordered (rib eye and NY strip) were among the finest we've ever had, and were perfectly cooked to order (med rare). Only suggestion may be that the side veggies were definately steamed from a Bird's Eye bag, even fresh steamed carrots would have improved the plate. The clam chowder was perfect. We did not have dessert. Service was friendly and attentive. We peeked into the dining room when leaving and were SO glad we stayed in the bar area. The dining room reminded me of a supper club decor back in WI from the 70's, sterile and cold. The bar side is definately the way to go unless you have a large group. Would bump it to 4.5 stars if possible. read more
