Tracks is an easy stop for lunch at the Telluride Mountain Village base. There's a bar and an order-at-the-counter restaurant that both offer fairly quick service...UNLESS you happen to walk in during the lunch rush and they get slammed. Because there's only person taking orders, it can take a long time to get your order in. We walked in at 12:30 (oops) and waited 20+ minutes to put our food order in, and another 15+ for the food. Not a huge deal if you're not in a hurry, but it's not the fastest choice if you're looking for a quick in-and-out on a powder day. We ordered the Avocado toast (and added chicken) and a bowl. The food was generously sized and the quality was solid. We also ordered a couple cocktails from the bar and those were super quick. We also stopped back by in the evening for a couple cocktails and the bartender (whose name escapes me but she's tall and blonde and was about to do a heli-skiing trip) was awesome. We came to telluride our first time July hot summer! And let me tell you having a free gondola to all the areas in the village is amazing. We hiked downhill after a ride and felt the need to enjoy a meal and tracks is where we stopped. We loved the food they had great actual food options like rice snd vege my kid could enjoy. I know not a normal kid menu item but I love how it was on there. My husband and I loved the food we had and once your done with your meal you can go and enjoy some tasty ice cream after. You can dine in, sit at the bar or order some food at the counter and sit in the plaza area. Tracks Cafe has hot and cold sandwiches, salads, coffees and drinks. They have a large patio area where you can enjoy the views of the mountains as you eat. Sometimes there is a musician out on the plaza playing if you are in the mood for some tunes. The food here is pretty good. I feel like I always order a Bloody Mary when I'm here so I am recommending that. We all ordered and was given a buzzer to notify us when our food was ready. I got the teriyaki brown rice with vegetables. The vegetables tasted cold and quite frankly like frozen vegetables. I've never tasted brown rice with the taste and texture of white rice. Also looked like white rice. The teriyaki sauce was the only redeeming part of the meal. It did take about 15-20 minutes for us to get our food which was rough since we had to wait outside in the cold. The staff wasn't very friendly or knowledgeable about the menu. About the only bar in Mountain Village to watch sports in. We walked in to sit in the bar tables, bartender did not even say hi or acknowledge us so we we walked up the the bar. Bartender was too engrossed in her phone to acknowledge us until another customer pointed us out to get. She did not give us a choice to leave our tab open and just closed it without asking. Me and my family went there for lunch on 9/3/23, ordered, was served food at the counter and the bill came out to $78.29. This was fine for what we ordered until we got home and discovered they added an automatic 18% tip for doing nothing but make the food and I picked it up at the Self-Service window, (there was no service at all and not deserving of any tip.) I called three times to speak to someone such as the manager or owner, but they did not answer their phone and even I emailed them that I wanted the tip back and to mail it to me but never got a response. Not a great experience. Many of the businesses in the area have table service during these times, Tracks does not. They require all the patrons to enter, order at a table, pay, then give you a buzzer for when your order is ready. Then, if you want drinks you have to go to another line (for the bar), wait and pay separately. They only have a few outdoor tables (which is ok) but I don't understand why they don't have one waiter to wait the outdoor tables, rather than have everyone walk indoors (up to four times). They serve EVERYTHING in boxes to go. Not great if you get the nachos, kind of a mess. Probably an ok place but haven't made the best decisions to adapt to COVID restrictions. read more
