My favorite place to get breakfast burritos. The elephant is definitely the way to go if you want a all in one. They have fresh tortillas and pan. The service is one of a kind and very family ran. Breakfast at Lolita's didn't disappoint! We were in town for the Texas Auctioneers Association Convention, but before we left town I wanted to try this little family run restaurant. It was great! I have never been treated so horribly by a local small business like I have this one. I waited over 45 minutes in the drive-thru only to be greeted a very rude woman that didn't care whether I gave them my business or not. She also tried to charge me more than the online advertised price for breakfast tacos, and that is just WRONG!!! If you don't take the time to update your website, then you should honor the advertised price. It is just wrong to charge customers more when you decide to increase your prices and not update your advertised prices. Gross, overpriced, and they lost our order I guess because it took forever and our waitress had to keep coming back out and asking what we had ordered. The breakfast tacos are amazing! We happened upon this spot by searching Yelp couldn't be happier with our choice. Jeremy was so helpful and even gave us some ideas for our day. It's nice to go in places where the people care and are interested in their customers. The tacos were really good, the potatoes were cooked to perfection! A great place you should give it a try. This is definitely a hole in the wall that is family owned and run. It is always busy and you will have to wait for a table but the food is worth it. They are famous for their breakfast tacos. I personally love the choizio and egg while my husband raves on the the potato, bacon and egg tacos. The salsa is fresh and homemade and every time we have it (which is many times) it's warm and has a nice spicy kick to it. The chips are thicker and served warm as well. I do want to go on record and say that I have not eaten lunch here only the breakfast tacos so I can not comment on the rest of the menu but for the breakfast I give it 5 stars. read more

Lolita's is a great local spot for breakfast burritos and breakfast tacos. Always packed. The elephante is one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. When we are in Waco we ALWAYS make time for breakfast at Lolita's. Don't go here if you are looking for high end breakfast in a chic environment. This is a local Mexican dive that all the locals frequent. It is just plain simple but excellent breakfast Mexican food. I like the breakfast burritos at Lolita's and often eat there when I'm in the neighborhood on the right day (they're closed on Mondays). The George W. Bush is usually my choice, but I wish they'd change the name! How about "the Kim Mulkey"? The reason for my three stars is that the owner and counter staff treat customers who haven't been patronizing the place for 20 years with some indifference. It's almost unheard of for one of them to smile or even say good morning, at least in my experience. When you see how they greet the customers they recognize, it makes you wonder how long it takes to become a customer they recognize. I often get the feeling that the people in the back and the ladies who serve the food speak little or no English --which is okay, but just be aware that, if you're not a regular, you may not get a smile or thank you for your business. I eat here entirely too much. This food is absolutely terrible for you. And it's about the furthest thing from authentic Mexican. So why do keep coming back for the giant inauthentic "Elephante" breakfast burrito? Simple. It's tasty, filling, and only $4. It's more like something some cowboys threw together in a giant skillet and wrapped in a tortilla than anything some mamacita in Mexico would be cooking up. Lolitas is delicious but unless you have over an hour to wait for breakfast tacos don't waste your time. Multiple times I have called to place an order and when I get there they have the phone off the hook. The drive through is a joke. Don't get in that line unless you want to wait an hour. Everyone's been pimping the breakfast burritos in these reviews, and they ARE terrific (and very cheap), make no bones about that... but more awesome is their lunch menu. They close at 2 PM every day so get there early to enjoy their delicious lunch options; I work just down the street and love their nachos, carne guisada, and huevos rancheros. The staff is very friendly, especially the mohawked guy who usually works the counter and his sister. When I started my new diet I went inside and asked the guy for a recommendation for something healthy on the menu; he told me that there really wasn't anything that would be compatible with my diet plan, but he offered to customize me a dish. He ended up making me a big salad with tons of veggies, fresh guacamole, and grilled chicken, and it cost me a LOT less than it would have at any other restaurant I've been to. Now that's personalized service! They keep the restaurant clean inside and the tables get bussed quickly, which is important given how PACKED this place gets. The drive-thru is wonderful but be prepared to wait awhile unless you hit it at just the right timing; they don't have an intercom, so you place your order once you're at the window and then sit and wait for them to prepare it. This guarantees hot, fresh food exactly as you ordered it, but the downside is that a quick morning stop for a breakfast taco may take you 20-30 minutes! However, it's a family restaurant and all you have to do is drive by on a Saturday or Sunday morning and see the crowds to see that it has plenty of love from the locals; Lolita's is a staple of small taquerias in the Waco area, and they return the favor by keeping their prices low and their food yummy! Be prepared to wait 30 minutes or longer in the drive thru. No speaker to order, and no one answers the phone. That means everyone behind you has to wait for your order to be made before theirs can be made. The Breakfast tacos tasted good, but not nearly worth the wait. read more
