I had known working mid to high end PC that I wanted to swap out the CPU and GPU with updated models. I've made many PCs before, but I ran into issues. I couldn't get it to post. After a month or so I lost faith in myself, which was the worst possible decision I could've made. I decided to bring it to JK Techs, thinking a man claiming to have 20+ years of experience would be better than gambling with Geek Squad, or taking it far away to someone else. I paid his diagnostic fee, which was admittedly cheap. However when he seemed to run out of ideas the computer would sit for weeks and weeks, while he complained about having other customers to work on. I get it, he needs to make money somewhere to keep the doors open, and time for parts shipments, but as time went on nothing much seemed to happen at all. I noticed it was difficult to reach the front desk. Some of my texts where unanswered and almost every time I called they would never pick up. Luckily I live within a few blocks but some of you may not be so fortunate. Eventually I had grown tired. Me and my Micro Center buddies had a lot of time to think. I decided I wanted machine back, and I picked it up the next day. At the end of my day I decided to take a look at it. I noticed immediately the unmistakable shine of not 1, but 2 bent pins in my CPU socket. At this point I was so frustrated. I did not want to go back, and I had experience with bent pins, so I documented the damage before attempting to fix it. I bent one back successfully, but upon further investigation a leg of the remaining pin was sheared, thus making irreparable trash. The next day I resolved to at least try to go there. I was graced with the presence of Javier, who doesn't seem to be there much. I showed him the bent pins. I explained to him that my board had no such bent pins before I gave it to him, which he tried to blame me for. He refused to accept the probability that they were bent in the store. I pointed out that a minute earlier that he claimed he would've noticed such a problem. Backed into a corner, he claimed he could try and bend the pins back, which I explained was impossible. He denied my request to replace the board so I walked out, I didn't know what else to say. A call a few minutes later made everything clear to me. He said if I brought the board to him maybe we could work something out. He went on talking about how he lost money. That is not my problem, you decide your fee. If you cannot afford to work on it anymore then tell the customer. I would've paid for more diagnostic time but we are well past that now. Even though he very well may honor me with a new board, I refuse to accept it. I am beyond frustrated, and my trust is broken. If he was honest with me from the beginning this would be a much different story, but that is not the world we live in.

He taught me more about how laptops work than I'd ever learned, and then he FIXED my laptop for little to no charge. His repairs will work for a day, and immediately stop working probably due to lazy repair methods. Once you contact him to tell him that his repairs are faulty, he will then tell you to research how to fix it yourself and not offer any sort of refund or any sort of guidance to you, and then ignore your calls, or even answer the door. I'm upset about this poor business practice, and hope people reading this will think twice before contacting Paul for computer help...

Chris, the owner/manager, took the time to get a mil spec "grippy" case for my Android phone, even…read morethough he mostly deals in iPhones. He has all kinds of accessories, and he also repairs computers, too. His store looks very comfortable and is immaculate. He was very kind to wash his hands before touching my phone, and handled it with care as he installed my case. The last time I bought a case, the salesperson had dirty, greasy hands and got the grease inside and outside the case. When he was finished, he carefully wiped everything down. Everyone that I know who has been there can't say enough how fair his prices are, how well they (and their equipment) was treated and how comfortable it was if they had a short wait. Then proceeded to plug in charge the phone stating that the motherboard is ok, but the screen is shot, starts looking up the model of my phone then walks to the back. I presumed he was looking for the pin needed to open my phone come back with a phone that does not make the model I have says they don't have my model then takes the other one back. Comes back grabs his laptop and states he will have to look up replacement parts and price. You were rude and completely disregarded the services I requested. Second, I was NEVER asked if I wanted a new phone or to have my phone repaired. It's great how I can shop at Walmart and get other helpful needs met at the same time. My children have damaged my iPhone several times, everything from the charging port, the screen and the battery. Each time Riz never hesitated to help me in any way possible. He is honest, kind and very professional. I had another iPhone that was damaged by water and he even revived that one.
