Can I give 0 stars? I have worked on my own vehicles my entire life, but didn't have time on a short trip to Houston and needed my parents truck repaired (dad had knee surgery, and they are both broke). When I walked in, a transmission vendor was in his shop trying to sell crap and asked him if he's been busy lately--Billy (the manager) said no, they have been really slow. This should have been my cue to leave immediately. I specifically asked "Billy" to diagnose the problem with the vehicle (i.e. hook it up to his fancy computer) and we would discuss repair options at that point. I had also consulted a friend of mine who is a research engineer for GM that specializes on the LS motor line--my friend and I came up with a decent list of possible issues, being fuel delivery or intake manifold problems (which are a TSB). Billy went ahead and told me he diagnosed the problem (which all he did probably was pull the codes using a basic ODBII reader, P0101 and P0300--which I already did) and was sure that the spark plugs and wires were the culprit (the truck couldn't go 50 mph, would barely accelerate and kept missing at high RPM). He also was sure to present me with a $3500 bill worth of items that had nothing to do with the original problem I brought the vehicle there for (engine issue) such as flushing the brake fluid, replacing suspension and steering components, $1500 to replace converters, an alignment, rear main seal, etc. All 100% crookery trying to see if I knew anything and wanted to take full advantage of me. I finally negotiated plugs/wires only, leaning on his expertise and trusting him--what a mistake. He replaced the plugs / wires and fuel filter then charged me $280 in labor to do so (would have taken me 15 minutes) and then said after a test drive the truck still didn't run right! So I paid him for nothing--and was gullible/trusting enough to pay him up front for the work, so I couldn't even withhold the payment. I went back and tried to negotiate with him to diagnose the problem--he refused to do so without another $160 fee. We had a bit of an argument, he and his wife both called me "cheap" and pointed to some other vehicles in his shop indicating that it "costs a lot of money" to fix cars these days, a certian van for example was $2800. Sure Billy--it does cost a lot to fix them at your place, because you don't know what the hell you are doing (or you're a crook and deliberately replacing stuff that doesn't need to be). I ended up taking the vehicle to another mechanic I have used in the past and trust--his LS master tech properly diagnosed and fixed the problem within an hour. It was a leaking intake manifold gasket that caused the entire problem--funny, this wasn't even on Billy's list of 50 items he wanted to replace--that's because he doesn't know what he's doing. Really poor customer service, pushy, not knowledgeable. I also asked some other folks in the neighborhood nearby if they have used Logans auto in the past--they shared similar stories. Many were taken advantage of (senior citizens) that were not knowledgeable in car repairs--they were scared into making unnecessary repairs! What's even more hilarious, this guy has a Buddhist shrine in his office right when you walk in. I think Buddha probably would not approve of Billy's behavior. He will be reincarnated as a rat the next time around, because that's what he acts like. read more

I posted a previous posting in which I was not sure so I had made a good decision in coming here. Since then, just a few hours later, I found them to be very reliable regarding time to pick me up and have the car ready. I was able to get my grandson in a timely manner, and the car was ready ahead of time. The work they did was very much needed and they did a great job. I have only good things now to say about the extra detail and service provided and their diligence in ensuring that I was not inconvenienced. I will be back and I recommend Logan's Auto to anyone. Just make sure that you come in on a day when you do not have other commitments. I do appreciate the heads up provided on work my car still needed as I had not been keeping track. We put a plan together in which I will have other work done as it falls within my budget. Logan's goes over and beyond. They are good for their word and their work. read more

This became my auto repair and maintenance place to go anytime I need. Greeeaaat customer service! The best one I've ever received in a auto repair shop, which is kind of rare in this industry. Manager Billy is awesome. Front desk is a very family oriented atmosphere. Billy treated me like I know him for years. I felt valued as a customer and he and his staff honesty and willingness to do a great job is guaranteed, not to mention they did a great one on my car's tires alignment. Don't go to these Firestone or alike places, as most of them will treat you like they treat their employees, and a good job is not guaranteed, from my own experience. Highly recommended. I've known Billy at Logan's since they first opened when I lived down the street from them. He always helped me out at a reasonable price I'm a single mom with 3 kids and he's always great with my kids too and is honest about the work that needs to be done. A lot of mechanics take advantage of women but he does not. Just recently my car broke down and needed a lot of work done, he gave me a fair price and I even noticed the dial to my heating and cooling was fixed- at no extra charge too. That was really nice of him and his team to do! Not only can my car be driven again, now I won't freeze with it stuck on full blast A/C when it's cold outside. Thanks again Billy!!! read more

I went to get my breaks fixed and they did a wonderful job! They found a couple of things wrong with my car that I was no aware. Billy Tong the owner explained everything about my car until I understood the problem. He was patient and kind through it all. I really appreciated the time he took with me and others that came in for repairs. The office is very nice and the bathroom was very clean. The mechanic is awesome! No problems with the work they did on my car. I will be a returning customer and will be referring friends, family, and members of my church to his shop. I had been told by the dealership that I needed a new valve cover gasket and a few other things. I took my car to Billy and had him check it out and I did need a new valve cover gasket, but I also needed new front brakes (I was at a 5-10%). The dealership seemed to check everything but that. From now on I will be taking my car to Billy for repairs he is honest and his prices are good. As a female walking into a mechanic shop I always feel intimidated, but working with Billy I didn't he made me feel comfortable and explained everything to me so I knew exactly what I was paying for in advance. read more

Logan's Auto was truly a great find for me. When I moved to Houston I was a little concerned on finding a good mechanic with so many choices out there. From the first day I have a great experience with each visit. I have confidence in knowing my car is well taken care of with quality workmanship. I have gotten new lights, tires, wheel alignments, brakes and inspections, I haven't had any complaints on anything. Billy is someone I have come to know and trust. Today was hot day in August --- 102 deg F --- and my car overheated and I had to pull off the road and stop. Luckily, I was just 1 block away from Logan's Auto so I was able to make it there after letting the car cool off. Mr. Billy made an overall inspection and pointed out a few issues I needed to address immediately and in the future. He gave me a few options to help me get the best repair for the money I had. I am a retired vet with over 20 years of dedicated service. With the United States Air Force, my tour of duty took me half way around the world meeting different types of automotive establishment. Great service and coupled with top customer service skills. I was feeling lucky early morning and I decided to give this location a try for my tube up on a 2013 Corolla. My car hasn't felt this pleasant to drive since I first bought it. He was quick but didn't rush and his expertise really shows in the end product of his work. After Walmart claimed that they could not get the wheels off my car (a foreign car, afraid of damaging), I went to Logan's and it was no problem for them. These guys are great. When I went in for my inspection, they recommended that I have some general up-keep type things to my car. They didn't pressure me to come there to have the work done, just wanted to make sure I know that the work needed to be done and I should look into it.
