The burgers and Cobb Salad are some of the best in the area but convenience store groceries are way too expensive.

I have shopped at a WinCo in the LA area once or twice but didn't remember much. We went to visit…read moreand see what it was all about. They built the Winco on Stewart Parkway. Right next to Sherm's Thunderbird Market that is similar in layout with lots of bulk items. And down the road from the town's Walmart. It seems when a new store comes in, they would try to serve a new area but no. They bunched it right next door. I did buy some crab which was excellent at a good price. I to agree with some of the reviews. Winco is good for what's on sale. The other prices aren't better than Sherm's and, possibly, more similar to Walmart's. But the using a debit card only is a drawback. I don't carry one and would have to carry it special to go there which won't happen often. I am a creature of habit. I love shopping at Sherm's and will continue to do so. Sherm's sales are excellent and the produce is excellent. The few cents difference on some things wouldn't make me switch. I buy fruit at the local orchard in summer, freezing what I can, and meat mostly at a local butcher shop or Costco, for special items.

The handicap carts are inside the store next to Customer Service so you have to search for them…read more They are locked up with a sign telling you to speak to a cashier for help. After walking over to stand in that area waiting for a cashier to be free I was told to go back to customer service. Nobody was there, the food vendor called for help after he was done with his customer, after waiting for someone to show up I was told that I have to check a cart out, show ID, leave keys or ID to be returned to me after I return the cart & check it back in. This initial process took me about all of the energy I had on my feet just to get this far, only to learn I had to jump through more hoops to get a cart, let alone return it after shopping. I walked out & will not be going back to this store. This stupid policy that makes a person who has trouble walking go to so much time & trouble to get a handicapped cart that is hidden inside the store so you have to wander & search for them in the first place is not even close to handicapped friendly. They lost my business & probably caused quite a few more disabled people more inconvenience than it is worth to shop there. This is the most ridiculous policy & they should be ashamed of themselves for making shopping more difficult than it already is for people who need to use the carts.

Fred Meyer Store, Roseburg, OR - October 2, 2024…read more I came in on a Wednesday morning around 9:30 am. Having been on the road in our RV for the last couple of weeks, some of our supplies were getting low. I wouldn't swear to it, but I think Fred Meyer stores are only found in Oregon. We've been to a few of them over the years in places like Roseburg and a few other cities in the state. They're pretty massive stores and they don't only sell groceries. If you've never been to a Fred Meyer, you'll be surprised at what you see when you get there. They have a nice deli and produce section. In addition to groceries, they sell things like clothing, furniture, beauty supplies, jewelry, toys, electronics, sports equipment, camping gear, automotive items, hardware, tools, housewares, and more. The store that I visited in Roseberg was very clean, fully stocked, and well organized. I found everything pretty well except for an eyeglass repair kit. I asked several people that worked at the store if they had them and, if so, where I could find them. I got lots of answers like: "I work in groceries section," "I don't know," "Try clothing and apparel,""I'm only in charge of putting up signs," and, "This is the employee area, so they're not here." I finally found an employee in the tool area that told me all the checkout counters have them. Bingo! Sure enough, that's where they were! Overall, I like this store. It had everything I needed and more!

I haven't been thrilled with Albertson's in other places I've lived but this store is huge, clean,…read morehas tons of inventory and food prices. I've been here a few times and have bought enough to feel comfortable with the quality of the food. The meat department staff has been very helpful in finding what we needed. Albertson's merged with Safeway although it still has different products. They also don't have sushi and the deli hot items that Safeway does. I will definitely return for the items this store has but it may not be the only store I shop.

Normal grocery store that has the bakery area with freshly baked products, as well as a small floral area. Fresh fruits and veggies (just like any other store - are in this area as well). The meat selection is usually decent as well ... as with any store they can be kind of hit or miss ... but in their case, the quality is usually pretty good. The rest of the store normal, boxed and canned goods intermingled on the aisles with international foods, veggies and fruits, and baking goods. Cold section has the normal frozen foods (dinners, lunches, snacks, etc). Staff are always pleasant, again, nothing outstanding setting them out, but nothing bad either. The experience shopping here, in my opinion has been consistent over the years.

What a joke this place is now. Seems every single time go in there; every single employee is hiding…read moresomewhere. Went in last weekend and not only are the prices sky high now, I went to go to the checkout stands and there were ZERO checkers, AGAIN. I had to ask the self-checkout shoplifting guard if Safeway had laid all the checkers off or something, she then had the nerve to asked me "do you need a checker"? DUH. I used to go to Safeway every time I shop for groceries, but since this is the norm every singe time I go, I won't be going anymore. I imagine Safeway will go the way of the Do Do bird and Albertsons soon with their horrible non-existent customer service. If I am paying the enormously raised prices, I sure the hell do not want to have to check and bag my own groceries at all. Thats their job, yet they don't want to do it. When I do the self-checkout, why don't I/We get a discount for doing their job FOR THEM? Ridiculous way to attempt to do business. You piss off your customers, and we will find another place to shop. Safeway doesn't seem to care at all. The service is just getting worst every week. Safeway just do us the favor, and close since you don't want to be in business anymore. AVOID THIS DUMP AT ALL COSTS

This Safeway is currently at a two and a half star rating on Yelp. Do I fear my life when I shop for some mustard due to the painfully dim lighting and eerie sounds of faint screams? No. Are the shelves falling apart due to the rippling panic on Earth when there was a food shortage which started the post-apocalyptic world? Nope. Are there flying demons that roam the isles, searching for small children to snatch up and fly away to eat in the seafood department? No, I can promise you...there are not. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good bad rating writing session. Although, it seems as though that is all this Safeway receives. I have walked in and out of this Safeway more times than you can count to ten. And not ONCE have I left with a frown upon my rat face. So heres to lifting up this Safeway and doing my daily public service. We love you Safeway, you are not alone in this. Your favorite neighborhood chef with little tiny pink hands, -Remy The Rat
