The Loft is one of my favorite local coffee places because of the spaciousness, the flood of natural light (so it's perfect for working or reading), they serve local brew and local pastries, and the prices are reasonable! They even have hot foods, like breakfast sandwiches. To top it off, they employ really inclusive and inviting staff that make you feel welcome. The order line may look long when you arrive if it's morning or noon, but it always moves quickly. The only downside is the hours are sometimes shorter than I'd like, so I've sometimes come at times it's closed, so I recommend checking online before driving over to make sure they'll be open when you arrive. TIPS: - The only semi-confusing part is you pick up the food on the LEFT side of the counter and the drinks on the RIGHT side of the counter. - The extras (lids, sugar, napkins, etc) are at a little station on the right side of the counter, close to the side doors. - There are stairs leading upstairs that have limited tables and a small couch, but if you can snag seating upstairs, it's a cool space bec it'll feel more private and you get to look down at the cafe. - Sometimes Loft holds special events, so be on the look out for flyers. The space is so cute with the different types of seating and plant areas that divide up the space. There are also a few outdoor tables and chairs for those who prefer Al Fresca. I had to hang out at Cabrillo for a few hours waiting for my kid and walked over to this excellent cafe across from campus. I ordered the Santa Cruz fog which is an earl Grey tea why macadamia milk. It was so delicious I had to return the second day. This cafe is conveniently located for campus students. Clean and lots of seating with electric plugs for charging. What everyone said about this place is true. It is the place to grab coffee and light breakfast. There's tons of parking, even with church services occurring. This place is huge and it needs to be since the lines often go outside the door. I love all the natural light and the tall ceilings. We tried a breakfast sandwich an a muffin. I tried the flight. I love coming here when in Aptos! I think they have an awesome variety of food and snack options which entice me to come in to get an extra bite with my drink. The space itself is massive with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. I love all the natural light you get and of course, the seated loft upstairs. With plentiful seating options both inside and outside, you should always be able to find a comfortable space for yourself. The menu offers your staple coffee shop items from espresso drinks to drip. Prices are really competitive compared to today's inflated rates. Service is really friendly and fast. The location itself borders Cabrillo community college as well as a nearby church. There are bike racks out front as well as a permanently affixed bike repair stand which is totally rad and appreciated by a cyclist such as myself! This was my early morning stop on my way to Forest of Nisene Marks State Park for some off road riding. I ordered a latte which was really well balanced between their espresso and the milk. The foam was tempered really nicely and had a glassy sheen to it. Well done! The person who handed me my drink was friendly and struck up a conversation when I picked up my cup. This place was AWESOME! If it was just a bit closer to me, I'd come in all the time. Great for meeting up with friends but since it gets a bit loud, wouldn't recommend it for intense work / study focus. My vanilla oat milk latte was insane. We wanted to try something different in Aptos and found this place through Yelp. The coffeeshop is huge! It's so nice as well, a perfect place to study, do homework, reading, work remotely or catch up with a friend. They have a wide range of seating and outlets. The coffee was delicious! We ordered a Coffee Flight, which is their sampler or different styles of their coffee. My husband got an Iced Mocha. We throughly enjoyed both our drinks! They had a good selection of pastries and they can warm up any pastry. They also had breakfast food options. The employees were so kind and patient while we asked questions and looked over their menu. This seems to be a location that locals seem to know more about. Tucked away, but not too deep in the Cabrillo campus is the Loft. This place is incredible. I was so sad when Aptos roasting cafe closed in Aptos but now Ive found my new favorite cafe. The coffee is great and so is the food. Great bagels, pastries. The staff is efficient and friendly. The building itself is beautiful. It's very big sporting a loft and many other comfy seating areas including outside. Plenty of parking. The Loft is really family friendly and you see that on the weekends. It gets very crowded with kids when the school lets out on the weekdays as It's right next to twin Lakes school. read more

As we were driving through Aptos, I wanted some caffeine, so we stopped at Loft. The ceilings are tall with plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs for students to study or work. I got a matcha latte. Confusingly, I was told that I'd hear my order be called out from both sides of the counter. What I later understood was the drinks come out on one side and the food from the other (I think?). The matcha latte was decent - creamy but not strong in matcha flavor. I like this place. A lot. I don't think I would necessarily go out of my way to visit (my regular Starbucks is just too dang convenient). If you're already in the area though, Loft is a great choice. Tops on my recommendation here would be the "Santa Cruz Fog" (a creative spin on a London Fog but with macadamia milk and cinnamon). Super tasty and comforting. Staff are friendly and the baked items are good (although I don't think the food is necessarily the highlight). The family and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and found plenty of seating. Setting and ambiance was chill. Nice music and soft patron chatter. I'm usually not a study-in-a-coffee-shop dude, but I could see myself doing that here Couple things to keep in mind (which don't detract from the rating): 1) Parking lot can be super packed on Sundays... Which makes sense - this is a church sponsored establishment so when the nearby church is having service, the area is full. 2) This place has brief business hours. Check in advance before driving over. They were closing today at 2 PM. All n' all. It's a solid stop if in the area and the business hours align. Enjoy! read more

Disappointed! I love coming to the loft it's a rare occasion to sit and enjoy a coffee for me. I was picking up my drink at the counter and the barista said that's not yours. I ordered a hot coffee there were two ready one iced and one hot. I ordered a hot coffee but I guess the person who took my order got it wrong and they made it iced. Instead of trying to correct it the barista looked annoyed and so I decided to walk away with the wrong coffee to avoid further awkward interaction. I will not be back. Barista had on glasses not sure her name zero stars I'll stick to other local friendly coffee shops. read more

Pretty building, friendly staff, and decent drinks/food for a decent price. The regular latte had good flavor, however the Lavender latte was a little to floral and on the nose for me. Food wise, the chocolate filled croissant was good! I also tried the croissant cinnamon roll which was also pretty good, but there was a lack of gooey goodness; a cinnamon roll definitely requires gooey hearts.
