Cocktails are strong and actually well done, but what makes it stand out is the experience. There's a learning component woven in, which makes it feel more intentional than your average bar. The drinks were strong (in the best way ) but still super smooth and enjoyable. Shoutout to Rich for being such an incredible host--he made our group feel welcomed, taken care of, and really elevated the whole experience. A couple things to note: there is parking available, but it is paid (you can either text to pay or use the kiosk machines). The experience itself lasts about 40-60 minutes, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The only downside for me was that the bathroom is shared for both genders. For safety reasons, I personally wish they were separate--so ladies, I'd recommend going with someone just to be safe. You just never know. They also give you a little treat afterwards, which was a really nice touch and a sweet way to end the visit! Overall, I'd definitely come back and recommend it to others

The location is a bit hidden and the operations is small, but the quality of their spirits is quite impressive. You can tell that they dedicate their time, effort, knowledge, and care into producing their beverages. I would suggest for anyone reading this to do the tour! There will also be a tasting with crackers and water to cleanse the palate. My favorite was the Skyline Gin, Espresso Liqueur (I can imagine Karen rolling her eyes ), and the Peated Whiskey. Karen was so wonderful from start to finish. She loves getting to know people and I loved hearing her stories. I could listen to them for days and learn so much from her and about her! Give this place a try! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. If you didn't, I apologize in advance.

She's very personable and very talkative, but she's very knowledgeable as well. Buckle up for at least a 2 hour experience. Located in a business warehouse plaza, you'll sit together getting to know one another and get background information on Karen and Greg's life which was nice to hear. The small warehouse packs a huge punch of information you receive. You get to understand how everything works and everything that Greg makes which was fun to learn about. Once you sit down and start tasting is where the most fun starts. They provide you with some water crackers and a lesson about drinking water and hydrating. Before that, I did my first tour with Hana in Venice. She was so fun and knowledgeable. The stops were great: lobster rolls, vegan enchiladas, rotisserie chicken, and top tier donuts. It's like hanging out with friends and so tasty! Great way to spend a day in LA.

I enjoyed it so much I wanted to find out more about Avital Tours. I found out they've been featured on national magazines and television shows from CNN to Travel Channel, and rank high on Yelp and TripAdvisor. I also discovered that the company started off in San Francisco. They're a food tour company that's built by locals for locals. So you don't have to be a tourist to take a tour. In fact, most of the people in the event I was at are all LA locals, who work and live in Southern California. The Los Angeles tours are broken down into 3 tour versions: - To a tourist visiting LA, looking for more than touristy destinations - To a local who wants to learn more about our great city - To a company who wants to do team building I decided to select The Local, which is a 3 hour walking tour. looking They offer 4-course progressive prix-fixe dining experience that begins with a welcome drink and then visits 4 restaurants in 3 hours - two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert, with a sprinkling of culinary history and stories in between. There are 2 walking tours to choose from: - Downtown LA - Venice Beach They also added a Korea Town Food Tour which is limited to 12 people. Prices for the 3 hour tours are (16+ yrs): $79.00, or with alcohol (21+ yrs): $95.00. If you need a unique gift, they offer gift cards. It's quite an ideal event for a girls night, celebration, or even a group outing where you can re-discover Los Angeles as a local, hosted by a fellow local. Private events are available, with a 6 person minimum.

For once I'm posting a review the day after I finally made it to the place I'm reviewing, instead…read moreof weeks or months later... though funny enough, I was *there* because I had a Groupon that had technically expired like 9 months ago, back the *first* time we thought we were turning the corner on covid and life would be getting back to normal soon, then that absolutely didn't happen - so R6 was great and said they'd honor all their Groupons until the end of the year. Fast forward to the middle of December, now it's *really* expiring, so I was there last night for a tasting before it expired! I imagine it could get busy sometimes, since it's not that large - but when we were there, Saturday around 5, it wasn't busy at at, so it felt nice and intimate, and our bar service was great. (I'm definitely glad indoor seating is available and relatively safe again, cause their speakeasy setup is a great vibe, way better than drinking out in the parking lot or whatever, haha.) I can't comment on the food or the cocktails, since I was just there for the tasting (the beer and cocktails looked pretty good, but we had dinner plans this was on the way to, I wasn't going to keep my wife waiting for the Ethiopian food she was really out here for! That and they're pricey - the coolest-looking ones were like $18!) I also sadly can't comment on *all* their spirits, since a tasting only includes 3 spirits and they have a decent range at the tasting room! I was lucky enough to be tasting with my wife, though, so I can comment on 6 of them. I'll also mention the price of the groupon, if a deal happens to come back that includes a tasting, the included tasting is their three core (cheaper) bottles, or you can pick any 3 and possibly pay up to a few extra bucks depending how expensive the bottles you want to try were, which is pretty reasonable. (The same goes for the bottle, if you want to use a Groupon that includes a bottle for a different one than the included bourbon, though in this case, I took the bourbon - it's a great bourbon! I also didn't notice that you still have to pay tax on the included bottle, but I'm not going to complain, we still got two tastings and a bottle for less than the price of a bottle, haha. Though that Groupon isn't currently available - tastings are normally $18-23 depending on the priciness of the bottles, which is a bit pricey, but I also get that making small batch whiskeys and aging them a long time is expensive, especially in LA. Was nice having a Groupon though!) The specific spirits I tried included their base bourbon and a smoked version (the base version was great, the smoked version was even tastier, but I didn't think *enough* tastier to justify how expensive it was. The core bourbon was totally worth its $46.) Also tried their flavored whiskey, which absolutely tasted like liquid caramel corn, and is totally affordable. Their reposado gin was great, but in that price range, there are a few aged gins I've had I've liked more (it was still great though). On the other hand, their spiced rum absolutely does knock my previous favorite local craft spiced rum bottle down to second-favorite, theirs is so good! Too bad I already had a bottle of spiced rum at home, and you only use spiced rum so often! Finally, I had to try their very pricey absinthe, which, you know good absinthe is going to be pricey. It's quite good absinthe, haha. I did also love that they served the tasting with droppers of water, in case you wanted to add water to your whiskey. I don't like adding water to whiskey usually, but I do like adding a few drops to absinthe, so that worked out! Plus it just looks super classy. I look forward to when they open a second location much closer to us, because I *do* have to try all their spirits. (It sounds like one is coming relatively soon.)

Amazing spirits still being sold by the bottle. I heard they may be starting to serve cocktails…read moreagain in the near future. Really hoping that's true. An amazing staple of the Gundo.
