María María María!!! This will be our second year hosting our holiday party at Casa Vertigo's. The first year we did the Geisha Room, this space is beautiful and has this sexy vibe to it! This year we had it at the Hollywood Ballroom this place is very spacious and the Hollywood vibes are pretty cool. We had a 360 camera in the room they have pictures of all the celebrities everyone loved it! Back to Maria she is so easy to work with and her vision about room set up was on point! If you plan on having your next event here don't be fooled by the outside take a walk inside and take in the beautiful rooms! Hollywood ball room hosted 100 -150 people perfect room to dance, live band, food and bar! Geisha room also fits about the same amount but room is much smaller. We had to set up the bar outside and food. Check them out I almost forgot the beautiful LA views if your venue is on the higher floors! Thanks again Maria! See you next year! read more

This is the 2022 location for: House of Spirits- Vaughan Hall: A Haunted Cocktail Soirée. Casa Vertigo is located across the street from a mortuary so this adds to the Halloween vibe. If you arrive super early, as I did, you'll find that street parking is difficult and time consuming. There are two lots that charge a small fee for you to park in if the earlier show has let out and there are spaces. It's all a matter of timing. As you approach the entrance, it's a bit confusing. Premium ticket holders line up to the left and regular ticket holders are to the right. It helps to have electronically signed the waiver before arriving or else they have paper versions here for you. Once inside, the confusion continues! Up the stairs, we had a reservation for the 5 people for the 5 cocktail package. One of us arrived late and this seemed to cause much confusion with the staff members with clipboards. I had to come back downstairs to claim our late friend. The QR code didn't work for her once the other 4 of us had entered. Hmph. Up the stairs (I don't recommend high heels!) and into a holding room called a "lounge". We were cautioned that the cocktails here in the lounge were not part of our package and would need to be purchased separately. MASS CONFUSION in this "lounge." We were herded toward one of two doors to begin our experience. WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE! Once past the holding area, we had to find the first bar- it was kinda hidden away in an alcove bit nicely decorated. Elderflower & gin mini cocktail was a bit sweet but likable. There are various rooms with live music, ladies performing in elevated hoops and silks- nice touch to have one pour a part of your drink. The maze was okay- not scary at all. The artifact gathering area was interesting - some gooey items to collect. Also, we were treated to a live play on the story of Vaughan Hall. Various other mini cocktail locations were found. The one with bourbon was the favorite of my small group. Each of us received five drink tickets attached to a plastic bracelet. They tore off and thus fell off easily. Luckily, I found an extra one so we could all have WATER- one ticket each! Kinda crazy really. All in all, it was fun and different but I wouldn't do it again. They needed to provide a MAP! The actor playing the NUN character was the best. The musical act was also wonderful, especially the singer. read more

I just celebrated my wedding at Casa Vertigo this past weekend. I booked the venue over a year ago. At the time of booking, I was living out of town. Maria was very accommodating with my schedule when I asked to tour the venue. I rented the Chateau Ballroom to accommodate my huge family. The space is so beautiful, it doesn't need much but I used Maria's preferred vendor list for catering, decorating, and even for the Banda. The vendors exceeded my expectations. Maria let us set up the night before (so long as they don't have any events the night before). Leading up to the event, she was very communicative and responsive. The day of the event, Denise was with us all night. She was so kind and helpful all night! The venue comes with security, and ample free parking for guests (something important for me in LA). The staff was excellent cleaning up any spills making sure my guests wouldn't slip. I was very happy with my venue choice, it was the perfect backdrop for the wedding of my dreams! read more

We hosted our daughters quinceañera here at Casa Vertigo, in the Chateau Ballroom. It was the most amazing day of our lives. The space was large enough to comfortably seat 400+ guests. AND all of our guests kept complimenting how beautiful the place was. Security and clean up staff were great. And most importantly, Maria was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole planning process. She understood and trusted my vision 100%. I had a whole design production set and met with my vendors multiple times at the hall and every-time I left feeling more and more excited for the big day. This place is truly breathtaking! My husband and I searched and searched for weeks for the perfect venue. It was the most stressful and exhausting part of planning the wedding. Where do I begin? I was looking for a venue that accommodated at least 400 people, and I found Vertigo. I am so happy and pleased to write this review 9obecause, in all honesty, my daughter's XV came out perfectly. Amazing venue for my 1920s inspired wedding. Every aspect of this place is simply beautiful. Nothing beats the ambiance of the place. The sound was great in the reception area. EXCELLENT event space! We celebrated my husbands 50th birthday last Saturday in the Geisha Room. The Room is gorgeous with it's Asian inspired vibes and red/low lighting. Plenty of seating for 100 with total room capacity for 150. Our DJ set-up on the balcony. There is plenty of on-site parking. We were able to acquire a bartender and caterer with Maria's (AMAZING onsite Event Manager) assistance. We ate, we drank, and we DANCED. This past weekend I had my daughter's sweet 16 at Casa Vertigo in the Château ballroom. First and foremost, I want to give props to MARIA and Denise. Denise was the lady that over a year ago gave me a tour on a Saturday afternoon of the venue, the Château ballroom she was great. Maria was the lady that I was in touch with for mostly everything as far as payments what I needed as far as insurance for the date of the event, she walked me through how to get the vendor insurance for my caterer. We came here for the awesomeness that was the Angels Of Change event the venue itself was decent sized for this type of event or for like a wedding. Inside it's very nice and all around cool for what type of place it is but what I found that I really didn't like too much was the parking situation as they really only had street parking which always sucks in downtown but it is what it is. This is a nice spot to rent out for your special occasion but other than being invited here for something I wouldn't really see a reason to ever come here otherwise. Overall a decent little spot but the real stars of this night were all the amazingly beautiful Angels Of Change! read more

I recently hosted my wedding at Casa Vertigo (Chateau Ballroom). I booked this venue in February 2022, ever since then Maria was very helpful and always told us that if we had any questions we can always call her. She told us at the time of booking that if there was no event the day prior to our wedding we would have 4 hours to drop things off/ decorate. Luckily for us there wasn't so we had the opportunity to do so. This ballroom accommodates up to 450 guests which for my family we needed. Everything the day of the wedding went smoothly. Denise was our day manager, she was the one guiding our vendors on where to go and where to place things. Maria was our manager for the evening until the end of the event. She was always at the entrance of the venue if we needed her with the security guards. Very much recommend this venue. read more

We had our wedding here last month. We were looking for a venue that could hold the amount of 350+ people and the Chateau Ballroom did not disappoint. The venue itself is beautiful with plenty of parking and we got to setup the day before which allowed us to be less stressed the day of. The reason why we're giving it 4 stars vs the 5 is that the restrooms are located in uncomfortable locations for elderly or disabled people. The lady that helped us leading up to the wedding was sometimes late to appointments. The day of staff was super helpful in making our rooftop pictures with our photographer special! I couldn't have asked for anything better from a venue. We hosted a repast for my late husband in The Sunset Room. Space was clean, brightly lit, with beautiful high ceilings and large windows. The light and energy in this space made this difficult day a cheery one which my family and I appreciated. Maria Caballero, the building manager, was amazing. She was very comforting and professional from start to finish. She answered all my questions and was very patient and thoughtful throughout the process. She accommodated all our needs on such short notice. She recommended me a wonderful caterer from their vendor list, L.A Birria, who provided amazing food that the guest loved. The rest of the staff were also very professional and attentive with assisting guest and ensuring that everything was running smoothly. I will never recommend this place. We had a 15 this past Saturday and nothing of what we paid for was given. The table for the quinceanera was not even fixed the only flower arrangement looked weeks old the food was supposed to be for 400 people and there was not enough even though the hall only had about 150 people. Horrible place MAYRA wouldn't even pick up. The fruit table that was offer came really late. Soo sad that people like this are willing to take advantage of people. read more

This review is, by surprise, an unexpected yet warranted one since it was initiated by a well crafted letter from Casa Vertigo acknowledging our community efforts as a Nonprofit organization, personally inviting us to consider them to host our future events and further extending themselves to offer the organization a tour of the venue space. We setup a tour with Denise, a pleasant young lady and tour guide of the space, as the venue is perfect for an upcoming event and we intended to move forward with reserving the venue except we were met with a very rude property manager, Maria, who asked very invasive questions like 'are we selling tickets' and 'for how much' which was the first red flag and very off putting from the typical 'how many guests', 'what calendar date, or 'what type of event' inquiries. She continues by repeatedly, confusingly and rudely asking if we are the recipients of a 'birthday party'?! In which case, we have now wasted time reintroducing ourselves multiple times instead of relaying event details. If we were throwing a birthday party, Maria surely took the cake by rudely interrupting and interjecting during what should have been a reservation and rushing us out the door insisting that she would send us an email of the rate. Personally upset, the Founder suggested that we just leave due to her lack of attentiveness, integrity and respect for whomever she answers to. Something was not right and we needed answers as to why we had received a personal invitation from an event space that claims, and I quote, "We would be honored to support your organization by providing a remarkable venue experience that aligns with your event goals.", and yet not treated as such nor met with respect, dignity and human decency. Come to find out, the base price she quoted, without the amenities, is a higher rate than what is listed online alluding to hidden, convenience and miscellaneous fees when an event is said and done. You call that an invitation ?! No thank you. read more

3 weeks ago I called Casa Vertigo and spoke to David. I told him i love the place and was wondering if I can rent out the rooftop and propose to my girlfriend. He thought that would be amazing he said give me a few minutes let me check the availability and ill give you a call right back. 5 minutes later he called back and said the date was free and Casa Vertigo would love to be a part of our special moment! David and the staff were very welcoming and helpful! throughout those 3 weeks David was extremely helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. On the day of the proposal he was near by so that if I needed anything he was right there to assist. I couldn't have done it without him! I actually had two events here (so far!) because I loved it so much and because I had so many options with all the different types of rooms. The first event I had was in the Sunset room which I loved because of all the natural light. My event was around Sunset time so the room was absolutely stunning. My photos turned out AMAZING! After remembering how amazing the staff was and the fact that they had an in house theater, I decided to have a second event here in their theater! It worked out perfectly because we had cocktails and appetizers in the room outside the theater and my guests walked into the theater for the special event! Thank you Maria and David and the rest of the amazing staff! PS: one of the biggest advantages of this space for us was the large amount of parking! The restroom on the second floor was very small (only two at a time) I was expecting a much bigger restroom because of the size of the hall. One elevator was out of service. My wedding was in Casa vertigo in 2005, back then it was not fixed like you see today but it was spacious. anyway the person we made the contract with was basically rude by kicking us out 10 minutes before 12am. From what I'm seeing on the reviews I think this only bad situations and experiences happen to Latinos. It's funny !!! all the good reviws come from names like Sean,Kelly, John and all the Latinos names have bad review experience. I was thinking since it's renovated it would belong to a different more welcoming owner. But from what I see its racism all the way still in this joint. read more

I have had my wedding, baby shower and my sister's 15 held here. Maria Caballero is amazing! They provide an excellent service and make you feel like everything for your event is under control. The ballrooms are absolutely gorgeous. It was remodeled not too long ago and there are many ballrooms to choose from and to fit every need. The venue itself is stunning. I had my wedding reception in the Grand Ballroom on 12/13/14. What takes away from the experience of the place is Maria and the staff that runs the place. Maria was initially nice when we were just prospective customers. Once the deposit was made, Maria had zero idea who we were. I split the cost of the ballroom into two payments. The first payment was made a week after we took a tour of the ballroom. The second payment was made a few months later and upon our return to complete payment, Maria had zero idea who we were. Fast forward to a few months before the reception date. Maria contacted me for my bartender certifications and proof of insurance. No problem, I emailed the documents in two separate emails, both of which were replied to by Maria confirming the receipt of the documents. Fast forward to a week later. I receive another email from Maria stating that she never received the bartender certifications. I ended up forwarding her the email she replied to. Fast forward to the day before the reception. We needed to drop off items for our open bar. Since there was no event scheduled for Friday evening, we were allowed to drop off our bar supplies. Upon our arrival, Maria still had no idea who we were even though we had met on three separate occasions. Her greeting? "Are you here to make a payment?" Umm NO, I paid off everything almost a year ago! Saturday morning: I had to make one last drop off of additional centerpieces, misc bar supplies, and other items that didn't fit in my truck the night before. Keep in mind that this was MY wedding day and I was on a seriously tight schedule. I was promised that my vendors had between 9AM to 4PM to setup everything. I stopped by at 9AM and no one was there. 9:05, 9:10, 9:15, finally someone shows up at 9:20. I paid a ton of money for the venue, least you can do is show up when promised or at least give me a courtesy call if you're running late, especially when you know damn well that I'm getting married that day. Maria was present during our reception and stayed away from us the entire evening (more on this shortly). The security guards however, were trying to pull a fast one on us. At the end of the evening, we had quite a number of cases of beer left and thus, we were taking all of it home (we paid for an open bar and provided all of the beer and liquor). While loading our leftover cases of beer, one security guard who was by the kitchen told my nephew that there were no more cases of beer left to take. Had my nephew not been in the kitchen just a few minutes before, Vertigo would have taken close to 40 cases of 24 packs of beer. Back to Maria. A few minutes after the reception ended at midnight, she decided to prance around the ballroom and was overheard by several people in my family complaining about the time and how we weren't out of there yet. She then tried to play nice with my wife and asked her if she had a good time, blah blah blah. The venue itself is stunning and was the only place we could find that would hold our 400 guests. Management of the place is what ruins the experience. We felt like we were nothing more than nuisances after they had our money. No one ever knew who we were, zero professionalism by the staff, and sneaky security guards who tried to make off with free cases of beer. If my family wasn't so on top of everything, these guys would have walked away with a ton of free stuff. read more
