My friend's and I did the sunset tour. The lake was beautiful and boat crew was great. The tour was frustrating and not what we had imagined. There was no stopping to take photos and or enjoy the sunset. It was nonstop kayaking the hour and a half. I will only give them 2 stars because of the equipment and that's it, the customer service at front was ok, nice young lady we were following all the rules, we even ask about fishing..the rule was "don't go to any place that you can't see the boat house and we follow it... The lake is tiny, very small, likeone woman who works for this tours YELLED AT US LIKE WE WERE STILLING ACCUSING US FROM SOMETHING WE WERE NOT DOI NO ..we want it to be in the entrance we could still see the boat house from there and she RUINED THE MOOD FOR US! I hadn't been to Lodi Lake since I was a teenager! And that's a pretty long time ago! In fact, I had forgotten how calming and lovely this park can get. Then on a warm and beautiful Saturday morning, Joe K asked if I wanted to join him in checking out the "Paddle Fest" that was being held at the lake. Of course I couldn't say no and wanted to see if it was just as nice as I once remembered. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the whole lake, park and nature trail had not been neglected. The trees had grown taller, the lawns and landscapes still well maintained. Families were enjoying the picnic areas while young and old alike were kayaking and canoeing the lake itself. This park has a lot to offer when it comes to greenery amidst the surrounding neighborhoods. Underrated place for Central Valley residents to do water sports! It's a small lake compared to most, but its location is perfect for Stockton residents (25 min drive). Parking tip: If you park across the street from the entrance (or in any residential areas nearby), you don't have to pay for the $5 parking fee. Went kayaking on a Saturday afternoon in June. It's a really great place for family BBQs, taking a nice walk, etc. They have decent priced stand up paddle boards and kayaks on the dock, and they kept our personal belongings inside the shack for us while we were on the water. I liked kayaking away from the dock because if you follow the path of the water, you pass a bunch of families BBQing, hanging out, I even saw a wedding party once. Love the place. Lots to do. We often bike through the wilderness/nature area and through the park to Woodbridge. At the right time of the year you can pick berries along the Nature trail. We sometime launch kayaks at the boat ramp. It is a short paddle to get to the Mokelume River. In the past you could purchase an annual pass from the Rec Department. Lodi Lake is a little Gem in the City of Lodi. If you go during the week you will not have crowds. If you just want to wander around you can park outside the grounds and save a couple bucks. If you are launching a kayak you are best off paying the admission to get to the boat ramp. There are lots of tables and grill boxes. There is also a pathway which will take you to Woodbridge. If you are a pedestrian be aware you are sharing the pathways with bicycles and should share to keep everyone safe. The nature area extends back about half a mile along the river. Several years ago a Boy Scout did a project where they labeled the plants and trees along the pathway. My only real issue at the Lake is the geese problem. People feed them and they have become aggressive, not to mention leaving "presents" everywhere. Recommended activities are walking, cycling, kayaking, picnicking, relaxing with friends or a significant other and just having a good time taking in the sights. read more

Originally came here hoping to hike. The trail however isn't that long or difficult, so we walked around & explored the park. It's a cute, peaceful place to spend the day (jet ski/boat areas are loud duh, but find a nice spot & you'll have a good time). At the end of the day we took our kids to the swim area. Lodi lake is very pretty. It was a nice little oasis in the middle of a small town. The lake is larger than it appears at first glance and once you park in either the attached lot or one of the back lots or side neighborhood streets - you find that you can walk all the way around it and that it stretches out on both sides of the park for quite a bit. There is also a nature trail and plenty of places to stop and sit or take in nature. read more

Lodi Lake in the Village of Lodi, California. My friend invited my kids and I, for his Son's 9 th bday party at Lodi Lake. But my two teenagers, didn't want to come. So I brought my youngest daughter. The park has plenty of shade for you and your loved ones. Right by the water there's tables and BBQ pits. For the younger kids there's a playground for them. If you have boats, jet skis or kayaks, you should bring them. The lake is big enough to have a fun time in the water. There are restrooms and they were pretty clean. The park is kept up pretty well. It was nice to see people walking to the garbage can and actually throwing their trash away. That may sound normal for some but unfortunately where I live and I go to a lot of parks there's fools always having parties and just leaving their mess right there. What I did notice, was Lodi's finest patrolling the park like crazy. That's another thing that I'm not used too. (The Man patrolling the parks) (every 15 minutes) So don't get caught slippin. Just pour your drink in a Styrofoam cup, then you all good. Yeah, Lodi Lake is straight hella chill. Kicking back and relaxing and enjoying the moment. That's how I roll 24/7 :) I most definitely want to comeback here again. What can I say, I love parks. We had a very beautiful time here at Lodi Lake. All the kids that came to the birthday party, all had a great time. That's the only thing that matters to us (parents). It's a wonderful feeling, seeing your loved ones having a blast and smiling. Lodi Lake is one of those places that can easily be taken for granted if you don't stop to take in all it's beauty. The grounds are well maintained, it's a great place to kayak into, the picnic areas are clean and in great shape, it's the only place in Lodi to watch fireworks on the 4th of July, and most importantly... it's the home of the Zinfest! I love to take my dogs to the lake and let them play in the water. We walk the nature trail, they play on the docks, and they love to torment the ducks. If you go, it's always fun to take bread to feed the ducks. I feel like it's the least I can do since my dogs love to chase after them. If you're bringing your dog, be sure to bring your own 'poop-bags'. There are plenty of trash cans around but bags are not provided like some parks. Also, the park requires that you keep your dog on a leash... fyi. As for the Zinfest... it's a wine festival (usually mid-May) that is held around the back side of the lake. If you like wine (which I do), it's a great event that allows you to try lots of local wines without having to visit each of the wineries. The scenery is great and the vibe is fun, which makes Lodi Lake the perfect location to hold the Zinfest! If you're planning to visit the lake for the 4th of July, plan to get there really early to "claim your spot". The lake is packed and the grills are claimed early. The views from the lake itself are pretty great. Lodi Lake has lots to offer. Great for all ages and definitely worth a visit! read more

Went fishing here with 2 buddies 2 days ago. Really serene views, cool layout, ducks everywhere, BBQ pits, children's play area, clean restrooms, trails, and a designated swimming area. This is the go-to lake to unwind and have fun. You can bring a kayak, fishing boat, or jet ski and enjoy the water. Or, you can put on your hiking or trail running shoes and enjoy the trails twists and turns. Tons of picnic areas but like all parks on a holiday, get there early because the prime park-estate goes quick. Definitely worth going to. read more

Meh I am disappointed with all the concrete and rocks . They don't allow dogs on the grass but you can driver your motorhome on the grass ?? After 19 years of taking my Golden Retrievers to Lodi Lake I see signs that say No Dogs allowed on the grass!! Really ? Seriously! When you first arrive at this place you don't expect what you see. The first thing that you notice is the lake. After being Amazed by this breathtaking lake especially when the sun is shining down on it, you notice these beautiful trees surrounding you. This place is soothing and relaxing. It's perfect if you want to take a morning jog or afternoon. You will run into deer's, and you do have beautiful homes surrounding you as well. This place is awesome! I have been coming here for over 20 years and have seen such a decline in the atmosphere at Lodi Lake. The kayak rental is nice and so is the boat rental but the swimming area is no good and the trail is not that great You have to dodge car's . The fishing is awful, and good luck getting a spot. If you want over populated unsafe environment to have a BBQ try your luck at Lodi Lake. read more

This lake is not far from me, the next city over...yet this was my first time visiting this lake with my son. My husband been here many times growing up. We enjoyed the lake on a hot sunny day! It has a nature walk area! Which is pretty cool. I enjoyed the scenery. My husband & son enjoyed the nature walk. There's also a park, playground. Then my favorite area...a nice little beach area of the lake with sand! (You pay to get in. It was only $8 for 2 adults and 1 child) Safe for family fun with lifeguards on duty. We rode the Canoe, there's a dock where you can rent boats by the hour which is pretty cool! I definitely plan on visiting here again. I'm rating 4 stars...only because the bathrooms are extremely dirty and stink...not in the best condition...but overall this lake/park is very beautiful and peaceful! I love that this beautiful place is nearby. There's wildlife everywhere! Ducks, fish, turtles, squirrels, and even deer that roam around on the trials. It's a clean park with a playground (currently missing the regular swings, but still have two toddler swings). There's enough tables all over the park and even bbq grills. There's people boating, kayaking, fishing, jogging/exercising, and people watching. The trials nearby have hidden "Lodi Rocks" that are painted in acrylic paint and hidden in the trees for hikers to discover. You can either keep it or hide it in another spot for other adventurers to find. read more

Lodi Lake is a gorgeous park with a lake in the middle that is great for boating, swimming, riding bikes, walking your dog or even walking yourself. I have seen deer in the nature trail area, as well as frogs, squirrels and all types of birds. It is a beautiful safe place for a picnic, family outing or just to relax. I like this lake, have been here several times before for some small hiking, biking, and even to just chill out and people watch. There's a spot for renting kayaks and canoes and whatever else they have, all for a decent price. When entering, the parking lot wraps all the way around to the right side around the lake, so parking for me was never an issue. The restrooms stay clean, and is located to the right of the pay booth. This lake is quiet, has great environment, lots of empty spots to throw out your lawn chair to sit, or just some good shades to hang out and Bbq. I've also seen people come here to take wedding/engagement pics. It's a cool place, lots of Stockton people don't even know this place exist. Oh, and it cost to park inside, $5 I think, so if money is an issue, just park outside along the park or in the neighborhood and walk in, it's not a big deal nor is it a long walk. 3.5 Stars. I Yelped for a place to do a nature walk with the boyfriend, nephews and doggies when we visited the Stockton area, and Lodi Lake came out as a winning choice. A lake in the middle of Central Valley? Who knew? We went around sunset time, which was perfect and provided a beautiful backdrop for a fun walk down the path along the perimeter of the lake. We skipped rocks, raced, and admired the lazying geese and swans afloat the lake as the sun slowly drifted behind the distant hills. What a wonderful time! Love. 2 downsides though: - Some areas were fenced off/blocked due to construction? Just a little bit of eyesore since everything else was pretty and nice to look at. - Passed by some "questionable teenagers" on skateboards. Ay, who am I kidding, they were probably thug life drug dealers. It made me grip the doggies' leash and the kids' hands just a bit more tight. Beware at dusk!! Came to Lodi Lake sometime in May for Memorial Day. Such a cute little place! Saw tons of people boating, paddle boating, wake boarding and best of all... We went kayaking! We rented out a kayak for 4 hours (I think it was $35 for four hours). I asked why the high price because I thought it was city owned and a lot cheaper, but they're now a private business! For a few years I believe since they've taken over. I guess it doesn't hurt since it can relatively get a lot more expensive in different locations. There's a tiny little beach area where there's life guards can watch you, so bring the kids! I wouldn't swim anywhere else in this lake though since it's a tad bit on the green side... With a little whitish coming from the flock of birds that reside right on the lake. It's a $3 entrance fee into the parking lot I believe. If you're able to walk for a picnic, you can park near the residential area. Better than most places! Have fun! read more

Surprisingly this is my first time here. Truly surpassed my expectations. A very wonderful place to go to with the whole family. They have picnic areas with BBQ pits for a great weekend afternoon with the kids. There's a huge play structure where the kids can play on the jungle gym, swing and many more. The grassy area has trees and lots of shade. They have the Canadian geese throughout the lake that the kids can enjoy watching. Then there's the beach area where you and the family can go swimming Ate or take your kayaks or paddle boards to the water. Bonus: there's a lifeguard on duty but check online first if this is important to you. There's a parking fee to go inside and park but there are also plenty of parking on the street. I always knew Lodi Lake was there but didn't know it connected to the mokelumne river and that it was a kayaking place.Since I discovered this place I've been trying to paddle here 2 times a week . There's a lot of wild life on the river I'm seeing many species of fish swimming below my kayak also turtles,ducks,geese,I even saw a river otter .you can paddle all the way upstream east past the 99or just cruise around the lake and up into Woodbridge. The park is pretty well kept (not perfect ) but still very good . Lodi police are there quite often they park there and do paperwork I like that kind of security!Apparently the park Is used for photo shoots this last Saturday at sun set the park filled with photographers and wedding parties they put up props one party had an old Victorian couch on the lawn !! Anyhow can't wait to take the granddaughter here next summer they also have a swimming beach and a Snow White across the street read more

The 5 stars; for the lake. This is the place I pretty much learned to swim. Started at the cement kiddie pool and got to take my son here when he was a kiddie pool kid. This is the place the family went for a get-to-gether. Dad got on site early and scouted out a good table with a shade tree close by. Mom manned the potato salad bowl, apple cider vinegar in one hand and an industrial sized spoon in the other. Mom would pack all the fantastic things that would soon turn into a pic-a-nick that even Yogi Bear would be proud of! My older sisters would arrive from their various locales with kids and husbands in tow. Walla! a Scofield Family meet up! I remember when you could set up camp at the lake on the 4th of July without fear of being trampled or exploded. We'd drag our campy sleeping bags down to the beach after dinner to stake out our special spot. You could hear the ooohhs and aaaahhhhs all the way across the lake. I have many fond memories of the lake in fact as a single mom this was a great place to hang with my son all day. A nice grassy hill for lounging, a safe and sane beach for castle building and a cool but not freezing clean clear body of water to cool down from the valley's sweltering heat. I just love Lodi Lake! In recent years I've visited the lake to kayak with my husband and the lake has grown in popularity. The loud music blares and folks don't have the same consideration for others like in the old days. If you don't mind blaring mariachi music muffling the sounds of nature, you may still enjoy one of my most fond childhood memories; Lodi Lake. read more

My best friend got married here and it was beautiful. You get elements of the beach, woods and prairies all in one. The bathrooms are clean and the park is well maintained. The only down side is drunks and garbage diggers. read more
