I thought for sure this glamorous boutique next to the Bryant Park Hotel had to be expensive, however after reading Mary S.'s review, which compared it to H&M, I decided to check it out. The store is full of adorable trendy clothing at very cheap prices. However, I found a few things about the place rather odd. First, the owner is a man, and the dressing rooms are located right in the main area of the shop. Each fitting room lacks a mirror so that the women have to come out into the store to check out their reflection. I felt very uncomfortable about this. Also, the mirror was what some people call "a skinny mirror", meaning that it made you look much thinner than was actually the case. I seriously thought I was staring into one of those stretchy mirrors at the circus. Lastly, when I went to pay for my two cute dresses (that hopefully still fit as well at home as they did in the "mirror"), the owner said they are no longer accepting returns. Seeing as how I did not trust my reflection, I hesitated for a second. This caused the owner to snarl, "Well? Do you want them or not? Make up your mind!" I was shocked!! Normally I would have replied with my own nasty remark, but the dresses were so darn adorable, and the owner had previously mentioned he was going to be closing the shop, so I bought them. Sure enough, when I got home the dresses still fit, but not anywhere as well as in the store. Oh well, minus the weirdness, they have some great things, so check them out while the store is still around.
