They came over immediately, switched out my locks on two doors, made copies of my keys, went back to their home base to make a copy of a key whose model they happened not to have on hand, and came right back with the copy. I recently walked in to have 1 copy each made of two keys that I had, and the gentleman at the counter told me it would be $6. While he was making copies, he took a phone call (no problem, businesses are busy!). But, turns out, he made 2 copies of one key, and none of the other. So now I have two copies of my fence key and no copies of my front door key. I understand mistakes happen, but frustrating that the employee was distracted on the phone while performing this quick copy. I do not recommend. read more

I hate writing negative reviews on a business in my neighborhood especially, but this is honestly one of the worst places in existence! Please do not go to this locksmith, go to anyone else but these guys. I've used them twice in store and the younger guy was very helpful, but recently I called them out to a location of mine.l after speaking with the owner over the phone. I recognized it was the owner because I've been here twice already. I told him EXACTLY what I needed and he gave me a price. 2 hours later he comes by and looks at my door and starts trying to upsell me. I explained to him that i had clearly told him what I needed over the phone and it made no sense that he was trying to charge me 3 times what he told me over the phone. He starts huffing and puffing then curses me out and drives off in his red van. I'm sorry your scam didn't work on me but you don't need to start cursing me out while standing on MY porch. As a business owner, I know there are miscommunications sometimes but I would never ever curse a customer or potential customer out. It was quite shocking. Don't go here. Can't speak to the "smithing" part of this business, but I did have some keys made here. Was a little put off by their storefront, but then again, it's a locksmith. There was nowhere to sit or even stand while I waited though. The man who helped me was a little off putting. Another man came in half way through to assist in making the keys and he had a bit of an attitude. The keys work, but it cost me quite a bit of money for couple sets. I had a little bit of sticker shock when he told me the amount. I guess I'd go back if I had to have something done in a pinch, but otherwise I'll just keep passing by on my way to work. read more

I used to work as a locksmith and I'm well aware of how keys work. This guy cut a key where neither the end of the key or the shoulder, which should stop the key in the right position as to align the tumblers and not damage the lock were very far off. I asked him to look at it. He said "it isn't my fault, here's your two bucks back." That's pathetic. If you can't put a key in the machine right you shouldn't be making keys. Not to mention he didn't dress it and I was picking burrs off of the edge while we talked read more

The Locksmith on Wheels was recommended by our regular locksmith who was out of town when we were locked out of our apartment on a Sunday night. Gary showed up promptly and quickly unstuck a seemingly unbudgeable key. His fee was extraordinarily reasonable. This is a person with integrity. While we were waiting for our regular guy to call us back, we called a giant outfit with a full page yellow page ad. Thankfully we cancelled them and got Locksmith on Wheels instead. We later read about how the big locksmith with a swithboard will rip you off.
