Needed a duplicate key made last minute and I contacted Bill late one night and he was at my house first thing in the morning. He's super communicative, cut a key, programmed it and was done in under 20 minutes with a very fair price. Thanks again! read more

Update 2/4/23, I want to update everyone on how good this business is. I used him 5 years ago & he did a great job. I recently bought another car & it also came with only 1 set of key. I called him & he came over on a Saturday & made me new set of keyfob & a new ignition key. He's very friendly & his prices are very reasonable. I am extremely pleased with the service by this mobile locksmith. I lost my programmable key for my Toyota. When I contacted the Toyota dealership the cost of a complete new key was over $350 and would take a few days to offer and then a trip to the dealer. I found this company and call them. They gave me a quote of $185 complete and they came to my place of business the next day and prepared the key immediately. The technician is very friendly and professional. He offered that if I should find my lost key he would reprogram it for free so that it would continue to work with the car. About a month later I found the lost key, contacted the technician and he offered to come the next day and reprogram the Lost Key without charge. If you need to replace a programmable key this is the place you should call First. read more

Indispensable. Clutch. These are the best words to describe Bill and his team. My situation was this: I purchased an Audi that only came with one key fob, and the keyless entry buttons on the fob did not even work, so I basically had just a metal key. That's where Bill comes in. Bill not only came out to my office to take care of this for me, but he gave me a price that was affordable and actually lower than the 8 other quotes I received on Yelp (and lower than the quotes I received online as well as from the dealership) - some of which stated they would not refund all or a portion of the fee if the programming of the fobs I provided did not work. Bill had no such caveat. I provided Bill with 2 OEM Audi key fobs (in addition to the non-working one that came with my vehicle) that I purchased from a reputable seller and he was to both cut the blank keys as well as program the fobs so they would start the car as well as keyless entry capabilities. As it turns out, the used fobs I purchased were unable to be programmed, and Bill explained the situation to me in a very clear and concise way that I could understand. He also provided me with a potential solution where he would replace the chips in the fobs and everything would work perfectly as it should. In the end, Bill left me with 3 working fobs (2 with brand new key blades that he cut on-site) that all start the vehicle, all work for keyless entry, and that was exactly what I wanted and needed. Such a phenomenal experience and I feel lucky to landed on this Yelp page when I started my research. Contact these guys before you buy any new or used key fobs online or waste your money at the dealership, they might have options you aren't even aware of, as was the case with me. Thanks again, Bill! read more

On a Sunday night, after 5 my kid locked lost her car key somewhere between the Lake Bluff Metra station and Evanston, leaving us with a car that would've been towed from the lot if left overnight. I called Automotive Locksmith and he returned my call in a couple of minutes and arrived within an hour - 15 minutes faster than he estimated even. He was super professional and the bill was exactly what he said it would be. I would HIGHLY recommend his service! Thank you so much for helping us out tonight! read more

We bought a car that came with on beat up key Fob. My son locked his keys in the car. I wish I had their number then. We paid for someone to pop the lock. I said never again. I searched for a thru locksmiths. Some said go to the dealer. (I'm not paying $450) their nuts! Yelp showed us Lock Smith For You. They wanted to come out the same day I called! He called and asked to come early for the scheduled time. He had the key cut in 20 minutes, programmed, and we were all done. He gave us a warranty and everything. It was awesome! read more

My wife and I needed to replace the keys to both of our cars, a Toyota and a Mazda. We were absolutely thrilled with the service that Vlad provided. He came to our house promptly and explained everything thoroughly. We would definitely recommend! read more

Came the same day, got into my car crazy fast (picked the lock), and made me a new key on the spot. Less than 10 min after they arrived, they were on there way, leaving a happy customer. Prices are great too. Thanks guys!! (FYI: Hyundai Elantra 2015) read more

Absolutely amazing service! I received about 10 quotes all asking for an arm and a leg to replace my key. I had Automotive Locksmith come out and they cut me a new key, plus a spare, for a way more competitive price than anyone else could offer me. I wouldn't recommend any other auto locksmith for your vehicle. Give these guys a call, you will not regret it! read more

I lost one of my car keys years ago and my family has been making due with one since then. The dealer told us the cost to replace it would be about $500 and it didn't seem worth it. Yesterday we had a really annoying mishap that wouldn't have been an issue if we had both keys so I decided to look further for other options for a replacement key. Bingo! I sent a message and Bill replied within minutes. He was straight forward and knowledgeable and came over that night! He brought an actual Toyota key, cut it and programmed it and was done in 10 minuets. All for a fraction of the price the dealer gave us. They get an A+ read more

I found the owner to be very responsive and good customer service. Came out to my house to duplicate a keyless fob. Provided the fob, programmed, and cut the key insert for a very fair price. No shenanigans. Would def recommend. read more

Of all the automotive locksmiths I called, this company was the most responsive and competent. I had lost my Hyundai Sonata 2011 FOB and didn't want to spend the dealer costs for re-keying it. Automotive Locksmith was the 2nd company to come out and they had me rekeyed in 5 minutes, using his supplied FOB. The first locksmith who came out couldn't get it to work. I had called that company first because their quote was $20 cheaper. I should have gone with Automative Locksmith first! I will keep his number if i ever have an issue in the future. read more

Initially I called them because someone had lost her car key. Within a short amount of time the key would not work for the car. It was an expensive issue when we once again had to get a new key and have it programmed. We called to let them know and it was like dealing with the Russian mafia, we were bullied and yelled at and couldn't get a word in edge wise. I had made the decision to let it go after the man was threatening, but sure enough the next morning there were four calls from him by 9 am. Then he proceeded to tell us not to call! What I call this is crazy and unstable and someone I would never do business with again. Be warned! read more

Perfect service. He came to me in Evanston, arrived right on time, and made me an extra key for my 2012 Toyota Camry in literally 10 minutes. He showed me the successful reading on the computer that it has been programmed and answered my question about the G chip versus H chip. I'll update the review if I have an trouble with the key, but he said the programming is guaranteed for life and the remote (unlock) function is guaranteed for 180 days. I would recommend this business (although I hope I don't ever have a need to use them again :P Need to keep track of my keys better!). They even take credit card! Update 9/6/18: It's been over a year and the key still works great! read more

Worst locksmith ever you pay for what you get after having trouble fir 30 minutes and 3 keys cut just to open the door the an couldn't get it started and had issues the whole time trying to get it cut then once it was the key was incorrect after contacting the owner he was rude kept hanging up and tried ti scam us for 500$ for wasting him time even though his job is to come out to customers and help but once I called back he hung up and said don't call again. They messed up and didn't program they key correctly and will not take the blame spend the extra money and go somewhere professional . These two men work out of mini vans. If you go to them you might as well throw ur money away now. read more

Bill responded quickly with a quote for a spare key and fob for my newly acquired (used) car, and beat the prices of everyone else. He needed to pick up the fob for the car and said he needed one hour. He showed up at the appointed time by my apartment and quickly made the new key and programmed the fob. I'd say it took maybe 10 minutes. He explained the fob (used), and that support was included beyond the fob provider's own warranty period. And when I Not that he beat the prices of everyone, I mean the dealer, and others I read about on Yelp. Plus it didn't take as long as I was quoted by the dealer. read more

Amazing lock smith! I have a 2007 Jeep Gr. Cherokee and the Jeep dealer was charging me $400 for a spare key and I had to wait 2 weeks to get it. I called this company and they came out that same day (within an hour) and made me a spare key (with a chip) for only $14o for BOTH the remote and key. Service was exceptional, speed of delivery was fantastic, and my key works great! I would definitely recommend this Lock Smith to anyone in need of any type of key service, as he also gave me a follow up call two days later to make sure that everything was functioning properly. 5 Stars! Super company to deal with! read more

Accidentally locked myself out of my car while grocery shopping in wheeling by closing my trunk with the keys laying next to the groceries. Thankfully I had my phone on me and found this locksmith on google. The person I talked to promised he would be at the store within a short period of time because I was in a hurry to drop the groceries off and get to work on time. To my amazement the locksmith showed up within 10 minutes of the phone call!! After which it took him what seemed like two minutes to get my door unlocked (which is pretty scary to see how easy it is for someone to open a car) and I was on my merry way without a huge dent in my pocket. I am very thankful to the locksmith that helped me out and I would highly recommend his services to anyone. read more

I lost the spare keyfob for my Lexus so I purchased one online but it needed to be cut and programmed. The dealer wanted $220 to do it. Found these guys through Yelp and got a very reasonable quote plus it saves me a trip to the dealer. The spare key fob was programmed in less than 10 minutes and the key blade cut in even less time. Overall very satisfied with their service. I will contact them again for all of my auto key needs. read more
