Leo saved the day!!! I walked into a situation w my truck after not driving him for a year, and he hadn't been started in 3 mos. Battery was dead, then the key got stuck. Coming into town on a Friday afternoon and needing him up and running quickly, I was starting to stress. My insurance already sent a guy in a Prius w one of those stupid box starters. My guy is 20 years old, those boxes ain't shit. He told me there was nothing he could do when it didn't work. I thought I was gonna have to get him towed somewhere. Started calling mobile mechanics. Also a losing game on short notice. One did call me back, and said if I had a key/ignition issue that I should call Leo. SO glad I did! He said he could be there in 20 mins and to text him the address. $150. Done. My friend and I had stepped away for food but were close by. When I didn't hear back after texting I called again (ya a little anxious. Time is of the essence!). When I called again he told me he only took cash. That should've been said on the first call, neither of us had any cash. Once we hit a no-fee atm we were back and Leo was already there. He had the ignition out and said there was no issue w it. He started explaining about a spring that needed to be pressed but couldn't be accessed wo drilling a hole. I like to keep my boy as pristine as possible so I didn't want to put in any extra holes if I didn't have to. Plus I didn't really get what he meant at the time. Leo had the old school jumper cables! And the long ones!!! My boy was parked head first. Leo pulled in behind him, and the cables reached the battery and were the ones up get him going! I asked how much, he said $70. I had a $10 but decided to give him $80. He got there quickly and got me going. You think I'm good now, right? Nah. Wouldn't be one of my stories if this was it! So I go to check in and drop my things off at the house. I can't get the key out of the ignition. NOTHING I try works. I call Leo back, who's now in Citrus Heights on the call he was headed to when I called the first time. He said I could meet him outside of where he lives. He'd be done in about 30 mins. It was about 20 mins from where I was but I really had no choice. He took a bit longer but it was still daylight and not a big deal. In the time I waited, I'd googled and watched a couple videos on the spring he was talking about needing to be released. Apparently the only way to access it since GMC no longer gave access to it, was to drill the hole Leo asked about before. When he arrived I was desperate and said go for it. Done in under 30 seconds. He had a long pointy tool he used and made sure I knew how to stick that up so that I got the spring to release. I asked where to get the tool and he told me harbor freight then he said I tipped him earlier and he'd just give it to me. Tysm!! I didn't have anymore cash at that point and apologized but he said he doesnt do it for money anymore. What a guy!! So I have my little ice pick lookin guy and life's fine now. I go to take dude in for service and one of the things he needed was a new battery. Once I got that, he has so much power the pick isn't needed anymore. I'm keeping it in the truck tho just in case. Leo was fairly priced and knowledgeable. Sent my son for a new fob for our Honda Ridgeline in May. It stopped working. Stopped in today and he explained that when my son bought the new key, he programmed it while having our other fob in hand. This automatically deletes the lost fob. Since we found it and started using it, it made the newly purchased one unusable...it's all a security thing with Honda. No big deal. He couldn't fix it because we didn't have the other fob with us. I needed new keys done for my husband's car and my son's car. I saw this car advertising's their company and thought "WOW!! How great a company on wheels that will come to you to make keys and do switches also!!" I called and this guy answers. I asked if I can get an estimate. I explain to the guy that my husband's switch was broken in half and it was going to cost a little close to $300 to get a new key done at Volkswagen for 2001 Golf. The guy said "What is broken? the key?" I said "No the the switch." Guy: "What is wrong with the switch?" Again I say: "It's broken in half" Guy: "then you need to get a new switch" I tell the guy that was the reason I was calling him for to get a new switch. He then tells me he doesn't do that and then didn't say anything after that. I then tell him that I also need a new key for my son's car because his key is bent. I ask if he had appointments to meet my son at his school because he goes to high school and then medical assistant school after. I tried explaining to the guy my son's schedule is from 8am to 8pm. He told me to have my son go to his shop. I was so confused?! I'm like is this guy even hearing me or listening to me? Do you even want business? I explained again that he can't go to his shop and that my son has his own card to pay for a copy of his key. About 4 months ago I fought myself a 1991 Mr2 as a project car.. and unfortunately the key was so old that it broke in half.. Called to get a quote to have a transponder key made for my 2002 Honda. Only $45 at their shop. That's cheap! Called some other locksmith in Elk Grove was quoted $85....WTF??!! That's a huge price difference! Honest prices at Lock N Switch. They also have used car remotes available. Don't even bother calling the dealerships for remotes unless, you enjoy paying over $200 for a new one. If you can't make your way down to their shop, they do housecalls. I lost my master key when my purse was stolen. I had to leave my car stranded at a mall because I found out that they spare key I owned didn't have the immobilizer chip needed to start my car's engine. I was quoted $200-$700 at various other places to get a key with a chip replaced. I finally called Lock N Switch and only had to pay $120! Also, he was able to meet me at my car so I didn't have to have it towed anywhere. Not only was he convenient, he was also very friendly and helpful as well. I was told that I needed to take it to the Mazda Dealer. The car runs, but I would have to get it towed to the dealer because of a transmission problem.
