a can of orange juice

Stopped into Lock 32 right as they were opening this past Friday and am SO impressed by their set up, menu of offerings, and innovation during this time. We didn't end up sitting and staying since my fam was super hungry and needed eats, but we DID leave with crowlers to take with us. I went with the Orange Hefeweizen and a PB porter! My partner downed the first with enthusiasm, I tried ~half a pint and was wowed. This is my fave kind of spring/summer beer. Light, fruity, and easy to drink. Their setup is the absolute best, and I hear they have big plans for going further with their outdoor dining, coming this spring! They currently have outdoor fire pits in the parking lots with seating all around, that parties were utilizing on a beautiful-ish Feb day. There's no real food offerings, but Simply Crepes, Label 7, and a few other Schoen Place eateries will all deliver directly into the store. I believe Casey said eats from restaurants can also be brought in. I cannot wait to return over the summer and enjoy brews in their expanded outdoor space!

Location is great, right on the canal in Schoen Place. Parking available in a nearby lot. The brewery itself is small, but plenty of seating scattered throughout. We grabbed a table by the large open windows facing the canal path... great people watching spot! I went with the Goldie Lock- refreshing summer ale 4.9%. Also tried their Flower city IPA... really good at 6.3% Live music and free popcorn...bonus! Really like the atmosphere here, nice cool breeze coming in. Overall the beer was good and a nice place to go when out by the canal.

Nice little brewery located on the Erie Canal. Plenty of outdoor seating along the canal walkway with a nice view of the canal. There is plenty of sitting area inside as well and there is even seating along the windows which are like garage doors that open up which is nice. There is a moderate side bar inside and there is a small stand outside where people can get beer and wine. They have just chips and stuff for snacks but you can bring your own food. They are dog friendly! As far as the beer, we didn't care much for it but everyone's pallet is different when it comes to beer.

Lock 32 is a great location on the canal. It's small, but they open up the windows, so if you're lucky enough to get a table or sit at the bar at that end of the building you get a nice view and breeze. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but they have 1911 Cider and a decent wine selection. Prices are fairly reasonable. Great place for people watching :)

Fantastic brewery! They're dog-friendly and welcome everyone like they're regulars. Great beer- great ambiance.

Lock32 has the perfect location right on the canal! Since COVID began, they've taken over the parking lot next door to create an outdoor seating area with tables so that people can properly be seated for their drinks. In following the new Cuomo rules, they offer a $1.50 pretzel hotdog (which was actually delicious), or you can order food from one of the surrounding restaurants. Due to COVID, they weren't offering flights, but they were able to do half pours so that you could try more variety without getting full beers. The beer was good - there was about 8 on tap. Nothing too standout. I would recommend this place for a weekday afternoon, as the seating inside and outside is limited and I'm sure they fill up quickly on the weekends.

If you would like a custom crafted beer and a large artisan handmade pretzel with large windows overlooking the beautiful Erie Canal at Schoen Place visit Lock 32. Schoen Place restaurants will delivery food to your table at Lock 32 Brewing Company so nice! The weather was absolutely gorgeous and everyone was out on the canal today! The windows were wide open and it was lovely. Apparently everyone had the same idea to stop in for drinks, it was packed in here. They were all out of cider My drink order was misheard and I ended up paying for drinks I didn't want. Pretty bummed out today. (I did meet the best black lab) Dog friendly is always a plus.

Flight, and everyone on their phones

Great spot to come in for a beer! I would come here again but in the warmer months to sit out by the water. There's a good amount of seating inside, pet friendly! Flights are 4 pours and they are decent sized. They offer food that you can order from Label 7 which is a restaurant just across from them. Parking is dicey at Schoen Place because there are so many different businesses, so I would say be mindful of what time of day you come. Lots and lots of people walking around and cars looking for spots. Beers were really good, and the bartender said if there was an extra one we wanted to try to just ask (love when they do that). There's also TVs in the bar area. Clean bathrooms, and there was an upstairs I'm guessing for events. If you've never been before, stop in and check out some of the other shops/restaurants in the Schoen place area.It really is a cool place we have here in Rochester

A lovely cute cozy place right on the canal on Schoen Place in Pittsford. We were just walking by the canal and were drawn towards this place because the band was playing a delightful country music. Once you step inside, you will see that it is a lot smaller than what it looks from the outside. It is actually a very happy place with huge windows facing the canal. The not-so-sober Patrons were sitting right by the window and clapping haphazardly for oncoming pedestrians! I guess you have to have one too many drinks to do that, but the ambiance was really fun, the drinks were good! I didn't see any free popcorn on the premises, but still had a great time.

Beer and live music and a full crowd. Thumbs up!

Ample space both upstairs and downstairs. + 2 of the 4 sours I had were decent. + Great for kiddos as they have an outdoor space that's family and dog friendly. It was very busy the day we went with a fun atmosphere outside. + Historic venue with a nice restoration for the brewery. The less great: + The setup means long waits. Having to wait in line for beers in a completely packed brewery with two bartenders is not a way to run a business. They need to consider a new strategy for ensuring they can accommodate the volume they are currently doing. + Had a bite of someone's burger and found it more or less inedible. + My parents had attempted to organize a large family gathering on the day we were there and while I wasn't involved in the planning, there seemed to be missteps and miscommunications along the way that weren't met with much empathy or customer service in mind. Too many great breweries in Rochester to waste time on spots that aren't going to ensure guest satisfaction. Great location though! This place is so, so busy it's obvious the east side isn't brewery saturated (somehow) quite yet.

The Detroit style pizza is phenomenal! Perfect crispy crust. I was there on a Friday but came back the next day to try the tomato pie as it was sold out on Friday. It was delicious! Think focaccia with tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese. So tasty! But what is brilliant is that of four pizzas, one rotates each week and changes. I had one of the rotating pizzas: pepperoni, banana peppers, garlic sauce, and honey. It bears repeating, wow! So great! The beers? There's something for everyone! So many hazy/New England IPAs and sours. Great seltzers too! The space is great with room for private parties. Such friendly staff. I hope to come back again before leaving!

3.5 stars from me…read more This is a cool little unexpected brewery we ran into on a long journey from Buffalo to rising storm brewery so we had to stop. Great ambiance. Love the hay bails and roof over top of them for hot summer days. Bet it would be an excellent fall stop. Anyway, they lose some stars because the bar tended didn't seem to know anything about beer or the beers they were serving. I was disappointed in her answers to me and instead she was trying to see me in a mimosa bar. The mimosa bar is a nice idea, but it's at a side table far from the bar and it seemed like that fruit was sitting there all day and getting buggy. Lastly the smell of the bathroom or is it the pipes.... It's undescribable. It's putrid and you can totally smell it close to the mimosa bar as you're getting closer to the bathroom area. They really need to do something about that. We were there two hours and the smell never got better so it's got some kind of plumbing issue.. I do hope to come back this fall and see what they do with the place.
